That's what the types of love stories are
As if love
Is nothing more than
A genre in popular fiction
Just a story
Either fairytale perfection
Or a tragic end
Over the years in literature
We've seen these two categories
'Happy' and 'not so happy' endings
Why can't love be normal?
A quiet affair between two people
It can be any genre
Or all the genres in one
Cause thrill and humour can be love
Fairytale is overrated
Why can't love be general fiction?
A simple story with a simple ending
Every love doesn't even need a story
Cause a story is created
Concocted with imagination
While love is real
Drama isn't what people want
Why does love have to be
Something more than two people
Finding comfort in one another?
Why does love have to bow
To pressure of the image
Because that's fiction
And that's reality for some
Which shouldn't be
Drama looks better in fiction, trust me.
In real, love should be just
I don't know... LOVE? A feeling?
A mutual sense of belonging?
Why do we expect fairy tales
And end up as a tragedy
Or why do we fear tragedies
When 'happy endings' can happen?
And why can't love be a middle ground?
As simple as friendship
Without strict genres to classify
I hope someday
Writers of fiction
The media representation
The all knowing smug society
And self appointed dictators of lives
Would realise that love
Is not a genre of literature
It's just love, basic, unadulterated
Hopefully uncomplicated
And the future of love
Isn't as uncertain always as it looks
