Your POV:

While getting off the ships I, still being a small child, was able to slip my way through the crowd. I looked around and saw people weeping, while others remained silent, faces frozen in shock.

"HEY! KID! GET MOVING! WE AREN'T HERE TO CARE FOR YOUNG BRATS WHO DON'T LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS!" A guard screamed at me while literally shoving me down the path. Tumbling over, I refused to get up. I sat there, face in the dirt, silent tears streaming down my face. Why did I kill Elizabeth? She was the only one who cared for me! She was the only one who seemed like family! I started bawling on the ground, while the guards were dragging me off the ground. I started thrashing about, screaming to myself

Why did I do this to her!!!! IT'S ALL MY FAULT!! I screamed out, tears streaming down my face. Upon speaking in the language that seems more foreign to me, I received many glares and a lot of unwanted attention.

"Hey girl, what the hell did you just say?" I continued to cry. Do not cry (y/n), we will always be here for you.

"What I said," I said between sniffles "was none of your business. Maybe one day, I'll become a guard, and actually do my job of protecting the people, rather than dragging the people in the dirt!" I said while throwing a rock at the guard. I slipped out of their grasp and dashed in between the people in the crowd.

"GET BACK HERE YOU BRAT!" I continued to giggle as I bumped into Eren. At first he looked mad. Like REALLY mad. But then he settled down.

"C-Can you please hide me? I threw a rock at a guard because he dragged me in the dirt.." He kind of just nodded. He took my hand and ran with me to the nearest building. The building was surprisingly empty, and the only person who was there went into he back room. Since I am very short, I toppled over, falling onto Eren. "A-ah I'm sorry! I'm just super short.." Eren laughed.

"It's fine! But why did you throw a rock at the guard?" Eren was smiling me. When I first bumped into him he seemed upset yet angered, but now he seemed to relinquish those ways. He had a soft smile on his face. But I could still tell he was suffering. At this point I got up and hugged him.

"Look I don't know what happened to you, but I'll be here for you. I'll make sure that that titans never hurt you again." He started sobbing into my shoulder, his fist clenching onto my bloodstained shirt.

"Can you promise they won't hurt me!? Isn't that beyond your power!?" He screamed pushing me away. My power... I don't know enough about it yet... but... I'll figure it out... to stay true to that promise... (A/n: that was (y/n)'s thoughts) he ran out tears streaming his face. "I'll help you Eren. I'll protect you, you and Mikasa." I said, even though no one heard me.

2 years later...

Upon moving into my place among the cadets/trainees I start to hear yelling.  From my position, I can't quite make out what the commander said.
"WHAT'S YOUR NAME CADET?"
"Armin Arlert sir!"
"WHO GAVE  YOU THAT NAME, YOUR PARENTS?"
"My grandfather did sir!" Armin Arlert... I vaguely remember that name... from where? I continued to stare forward, as the row in front of me turned around. I scanned the faces, seeing if I saw anyone I knew. I saw a familiar face, dark brown hair with teal eyes. I knew this boy, but I couldn't put the face to the name.
"WHAT'S YOUR NAME CADET?" I quickly realized that the commander was standing right in front of me.
"(Y/n) (l/n) sir!" I responded enthusiastically.
"WHERE ARE YOU FROM (l/n)?" I hesitated.
"I don't know sir! Before Shiganshina district fell I was found outside the walls." He looked taken back, he then returned back to his normal angered expression.
"HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHERE YOU ARE FROM? EVEN SO,  IF YOU HAD DIED THEN IT WOULD HAVE HELPED HUMANITY MORE THAN YOU BEING HERE NOW!!" I remained straight faced, clenching my fists even more in my soldiers solute. Die you bastard.
"YOU TALKING BACK TO ME CADET?"
"n-no sir."
"I COULDN'T HEAR YOU!" I spoke up regaining my confidence, looked him dead in the eye and said:
"No sir!" I then, as he was walking away, in a voice less than a whisper, said not that I'd care if I did anyways..

Once everyone was at the chow hall, well everyone except Potato girl, who was still running laps, I finally decided to confront Armin.

"Hey, uh Armin was it?" He turned his head up towards me.
"Yes?"

"Sorry to bother you, I'm (y/n). I can't help but have the feeling that we've met before." I stated. A few people came inside and started taking seats with their food.

"I feel like we have too. My friend Eren had a friend named (y/n).  You also remind me of a girl who I helped in Shiganshina." I suddenly had some sort of memory, it was Armin, telling me that a titan kicked down the wall, telling me to escape.

"Th-that was me. I was Eren's friend I promised to protect him and Mikasa.. and now I suppose you as- sorry I also was the one who you had warned." I lowered my head, ashamed of myself for using that language. I've been practicing not using it for the past year, since whenever I use it I seem to get a lot of unwanted attention.

"Oh wow. I'm sure that Eren will be surprised to see you. However, that language you spoke in was quite beautiful, what language is it?"

"Oh! Uh I'm not actually not sure. I've known it for as long as I can remember, even when I was found outside the walls. I used it to communicate with-" Eren and Mikasa sat down with their meals and both started eating.  Eren has matured so much in two years, yet he still looked just as young as he was two years. He was kinda cute... GAH NO!

"H-hey Eren? I'm sorry for two years ago." He looked at me shocked.

"I- I'm sorry too..." he responded. He, he understood me!!
