You can probably guess it by now: this short story is based on a nightmare I had. I woke up all paranoid and it took me a bit to realise it had been just a dream. 
A few days after the nightmare I was sleeping during the day after a nightshift. I woke up a little from something walking over the covers. My first thought was "cat", but the door was closed and whatever it was, it was way too light to be a cat...
