A/N: I'm going to stick with the Generation of Miracles instead of putting both Kiseki no Sedai and this one. It might confuse the readers, which is highly not possible if they did watch the anime or read the manga.

Chapter 2 - Enter Kaijou High's Kise Ryota

"(What's the Generation of Miracles' Kise Ryota doing here?)" Riko contemplated the situation here. While ignoring all of the people lined up to Kise, what's he doing on the school campus?

On said person's side, he continued signing autographs until he caught eye contact with a familiar, who gave him a formal welcome.

"It's nice to meet you." Kuroko greeted loudly enough for Kise to hear.

"Good to see you." Kise addressed back as all of the players look over at Kuroko before looking back at one of the Generation of Miracles.

"Excuse me, girls." The blonde-haired boy scratched his head in embarrassment. "Sorry to say this, but could you wait for five minutes?"

They heard and followed what he said. A few minutes later, it's only him and the Seirin High basketball team.

Kise jumped off the podium and approached them with hands in his pockets.

"Wha-What are you doing here?" Hyuga inquired.

"When I heard our practice opponent was Seirin, I remembered Kurokocchi went here so I thought I'd come to say hi." Kise answered happily.

"Plus he and I got along the best back in middle school."

"Not anymore than anyone else." Kuroko shot back.

"So mean!" Kise cried before covering his face with his arm. All of that is happening when Furihata grabbed the magazine nearby and began to turn the pages, searching for Ryota's article.

After finding it, he said out loud, "Kise Ryota. Though he started basketball in his second year of middle school, his exceptional physical ability and sense got him on the Teiko team as a regular in a heartbeat. While he has less experience than the other four, he's a rapidly improving all-arounder."

"(In a nutshell, he can do everything on both sides of the court.)" Haruto simplified.

"Since second year?" Izuki asked.

"Ah, well, that article exaggerated quite a bit, but I'm glad to be part of the Generation of Miracles, but I'm the worst of the bunch. They bullied me and Kurokocchi for it all the time."

"Kuroko, are you sure he's not your friend? Because both of you are common in selling yourselves out." Haruto stated.

"That never happened to me." The light blue-haired boy reasoned with no shame in his voice.

"Are? Just me?"

"Ah, abunai!" Haruto warned Kise as they saw a ball about to hit the blonde boy in a flash. Kise stops it with his hands before feeling the pain behind it.

"Jeez, what was that for?" He looked at the attacker.

"Kagami!" Both the coach and the captain shouted.

"Oi, Baka-gami. There are less aggressive ways to say 'I want to play against you', right?" The black-haired giant lectured the other giant.

Shun Izuki hold back his laughter after hearing the nickname Nishimura gave.

"This is way better. Sorry for interrupting your little reunion, and don't try to tell me you came all the way here just to say hello. Come here and play a lil' one-on-one with me, pretty boy." Kagami did the 'Come here' hand gesture as he announced that.

"Ehhh? I don't know if I'm ready for that one..." Kise puts his finger on his chin, humming for a bit until he reaches the conclusion.

"Yosh, let's play, as a way of thanking you for your generosity." Picking up the ball, he passed it to Kagami, who was happy that the challenge was accepted.

"That idiot. What's he doing?" Riko said to herself.

"This might not end well." Kuroko commented while looking at her, who slightly jumped, but was confused at his statement. Kise removed his polo jacket and pulls his white sleeves to lessen the hinder in movement

Going to the top of the key, Kagami gives Kise the privilege to be the scorer while he's the defender.

Readying himself, he puts his arms up while the Generation of Miracle's all-rounder player continues dribbling while staring at him.

In a burst, Kise Ryota looked to the right before crossing to the left.

Haruto blinked at what he saw as Kagami chased him.

As soon as the red-haired boy caught up, Kise stops, spins and attempts for a dunk.

"(Did he...?)" Izuki, Riko and Haruto couldn't believe what they just saw.

Kise Ryota pulled the same move Kagami Taiga did a few minutes ago. The coach then remembered what the invisible sixth man told her.

"He learns moves the instant he sees them and quickly makes them his own."

"(You're kidding me! I just did that!)" Kagami jumped to block it. His hand got on the ball, but Kise overpowered him and dunked on him.

"(He's quicker and stronger than me.)" Kagami fell on his rear while Kise landed on his feet, looking down on him and reflecting on his words.

"That's the strength of the Generation of Miracles?" Kawahara asked.

"To be honest, I think I'm having some naive thoughts. I left them a few months ago, and they've evolved quicker than what I expected." Kuroko replied.

"Well, that was certainly something." Kise said with little to no satisfaction in his tone, really upset with the results.

"At least he got his ass handed to him for being a douuuuuche." Nishimura mocked.

"After that disappointing performance, I can't leave just now." The blonde boy started walking to the direction.

"Give us Kurokocchi."

Everyone except Haruto and Kuroko gasped. Ryota stopped his tracks when he's in front of the person he mentioned.

"Come join us." He added. "Let's play basketball again. I really respect you, Kurokocchi. A talent like yours would be wasted here."

"So, what do you say?"

"I am honored to hear you say that, but I must respectfully decline your offer." Kuroko bowed like a gentleman.

"But that doesn't make any sense. Winning used to be everything. Besides, this isn't like you to joke around." Kise explained.

"My thinking has changed since then. More importantly." Kuroko stared at Kagami who was getting up and going to them before looking back at his former teammate.

"I made a promise to Kagami-kun. And that promise is to beat you, the Generation of Miracles."

"But-"

"Sorry for intruding in." Haruto joined the conversation. "I know it's bad of me to join, but tell you what, Kise Ryota? On behalf of my idiot friend's poor performance, how 'bout this time we go one-on-one?"

"Eh?"

"I mean, you have free will to decline it. We can meet again at the practice match tomorrow. I just wanna warn you, don't underestimate Seirin High. If you did, you might wanna eat those words after. Our senpai's are strong, that's for sure." Haruto shared his thoughts.

Hearing Haruto say those words about the second years made their hearts swell in contentment and pride.

And yes, Riko announced that on Friday, they'll visit and battle in a hostile environment. Instead of their home court, it's Kaijou High's court.

"Hah." Ryota heard Kagami sighed, causing him to take a step back.

The said giant contemplates the strength and speed of one member of the Generation of Miracles. Despite the utter loss from him, he simply smiled and said, "You guys are really amazing. Can't wait to battle you all soon."

==Friday==

"Uwaah... It's huge."

That's what she said.

Anyways, here's the situation.

A few days have passed and the class is already finished and it took 50 minutes for Seirin High School to get to Kanagawa, Japan, where Kaijou High School was built.

Everyone stepped into the campus and were amazed by the view of another school.

"You can really tell when a school is devoted to its athletics." Hyuga remarked.

"Ugh..." Well, someone's not in the mood.

"Kagami, you have bloodshot in your eyes. You didn't sleep?"

"I was a little too excited." Taiga agitatedly looked away before he pinched the inner corners of his eyes.

"What are you? A kid on a field trip?"

"Urusai!"

"Well, he didn't deny it."

Looks like Kuroko and Haruto began to verbally bully Kagami. It would've continued on if not for Kise's voice.

The said person was trotting his way to them. Then, he slowed his pace before stopping in front of them, telling them that the place was big and thought he'd come to fetch them and guide them to the school's gym.

Riko greeted him, Haruto thanked him, and Kagami approached him but was ignored when the GoM's member shuffled to Kuroko.

"Kurokocchi, ever since you turned down my invitation to join us, I've been crying into my pillow every night." He then started to cry, but it was all an act.

For a model, he can be a comedian at times like this.

"What's up with this guy?" Hyuga muttered at the scenery.

"Just show us the way already." Kagami professed.

"Not even a girl has turned me down before." Kise neglected the side comments and dropped the act.

"But I'm not a girl. Also could you please stop being sarcastic?" Kuroko said the obvious. Kise smiled wider before turning his attention at Kagami.

"I'm more interested to know more about the guy who's making Kurokocchi say those things."

He passed by Kagami and added, "I don't care much about being called the Generation of Miracles, but I can't ignore such an obvious challenge."

"I'm not mature enough to let it slide." He looked over his shoulder and locked eye contact with the hot-headed boy.

"Sorry, but I'm going to crush you with everything I have."

"Sounds good."

"You won't be disappointed."

With all that happened, they reached the gym and were puzzled by what they're witnessing.

Two courts. One is used for training the newcomers while the other is semi-occupied.

While wandering the area, an overweight individual noticed the unusual people before it clicked his mind that they were the visiting players for the practice game.

"You're here. Welcome to Kaijou High. I'm the basketball's coach, Takeuchi." Kaijou's coach blinked, he noticed the players and a manager, but where's the coach?

"Which one of you is the coach?"

"That's me." Riko pointed at herself.

...

"Hah? You're... not the manager?" On cue, the girl stepped in front and bowed before him.

"I'm the coach of Seirin High, Aida Riko. We look forward to playing with you today."

"Uh... yeah." Takeuchi couldn't form words and instead accepted it.

"So, what is this?" Riko questioned him while looking at the other court as the newcomers in the sidelines glanced at them.

"It's exactly what it looks like. We've only made simple arrangements for today's game."

"Arrangements?"

"There won't be enough to learn from this game to make it worth watching for the guys sitting out."

"Na-naruhodo..."

"We're having the other players practice as usual so we don't waste time." Takeuchi looked at the board he's holding. "Despite the arrangements, you'll be playing our regulars. I hope you won't let us triple your score."

With this, he left them and talked to his players.

The second years see Riko twitching violently and silently laughing in anger. They can imagine what she looked like. Blue fire emanated around her, giving devil eyes and veins popping on her face.

"(Konoyaro...)" Haruto was seething for how judgementalist the coach is. Looking down on them is disrespectful.

Well, that's another factor why he joined Seirin.

Not because they're weak, but because they have the impression of being new to the basketball world and thus announced weak by the media.

Time to bare their fangs.

"They think we suck." Kagami's face darkened, his temper on the edge after hearing it. "They're treating this, or us, like a sideshow to their practice."

Meanwhile on the Kaijou High players' side, Kise was tucking his jersey in. Coach Takeuchi saw this and said, "Kise, why are you readying up? You're not playing."

"Eh?" He blinked, appalled from what his coach said. Him? Not playing?

"I know we've got star players from all the middle schools, but you're on a whole different level."

Ryota looked back at his teammates, then Seirin before approaching the coach and said to him, "Don't do that, Coach. Please, stop saying that."

"If I let you play, it won't even be a game anymore." Failing to heed Ryota's words, Takeuchi looked away and flung from him.

"Just listen to him." Hyuga told the blonde boy, eavesdropping on their conversation.

"I haven't been this pissed in a while." Izuki Shun chastised.

Ryota quickly went to them and apologized. "I'm sorry. Seriously sorry. I'll stay on the bench."

"It's not your fault, Kise." Haruto expressed. "It's your coach's poor choice of words and knowledge that leads to this."

"If you give his guys a beating," Ryota whispered. "I'm sure he'll put me in."

"Besides," He puts on his seriousness. "If you can't force him to put me in, you shouldn't go around saying you'll beat the Generation of Miracles."

Nishimura and Kagami smiled widely at the statement.

"Oi," Coach Takeuchi called out. "Show the Seirin guys to the locker room."

"I'll do it." One of Kaijou High's newcomers volunteered. Takeuchi nodded, signaling the boy to lead them to the place.

Before leaving the gym, Kuroko told Kise, "Please warm yourself up. You won't have to wait long to be put in."

He understood what he meant and smiled.

A few minutes later. All players of Kaijou and Seirin occupied the court.

"Okay, we will now begin the practice game between the teams of Seirin High and Kaijou High."

"Yosh! Ikuzo!"

"Yeah!"

Firing themselves up, five players on each team lined up at the midcourt according to their positions.

[Point Guard]

Izuki Shun (#5) - ??? (#4)

[Shooting Guard]

Hyuga Junpei (#4) - ??? (#5)

[Small Forward]

... - ??? (#6)

[Power Forward]

Kagami Taiga (#10) - ??? (#10)

[Center]

Nishimura Haruto (#12) - ??? (#8)

"Uhm, we're about to get started, so Seirin, please have your five lined up." Said a Kaijou High player who acts as the referee for the practice match.

"There's five of us now, sir." Haruto pointed at a certain player.

"Wha!" This shocks everyone in the vicinity except Seirin. Even the newcomers were flabbergasted by how Kuroko got no presence on the court.

"He's one of their starters?" One of the Kaijou starters asked amongst themselves.

"He was right in front of me, and I didn't even notice him." Said the tallest player of Kaijou High wearing the number 8.

"What about you, Kasamatsu?"

"Aa, me neither." Answered the number 4 player who is now known as Kasamatsu.

"This is ridiculous." Coach Takuechi commented. "After all their boasting, I thought they'd have some decent players."

"You might be right, but we'll see if they're not just decent." Kise shared his thoughts beside him.

[Small Forward]

Kuroko Tetsuya (#11) - ... ??? (#6)

Everyone on the court went to their places. Haruto blinked before realizing something.

"(I forgot we're in Japan.)" He noticed their locations as he analyzed them. There are four players, two from the opposing team and the other is theirs on each side of the court.

While waiting for the tip-off, Riko grimaced at what she saw.

"Atatata..." She muttered.

"(This doesn't look good. Even though I can't see everything through their clothes, I can tell their numbers are way higher than average. Our physical numbers are way behind. But then again, it's not surprising for a nationally strong team.)"

She shifted her gaze at the trio.

"(We've got Kagami-kun, Kuroko-kun and Nishimura-kun, but with them, it's a 50/50 chance.)"

'Phiii'

The sound of the whistle startled the Seirin High's coach as the practice match was about to begin.

The ball was thrown in the air as both centers reached for it.

Nishimura won, his eyes flickered as the ball went to Hyuga's hands.

Grabbing the opportunity, Seirin's center dashed through everyone to the opposing court.

"(Hayai!)" Kaijou High thought the same as Hyuga passed it to Kuroko and then made a bullet pass to Nishimura. Eyeing the ball, he grabs it with both hands before dribbling once and makes a layup shot at the basket.

Earning 2 points for Seirin and Nishimura, and an assist for Kuroko.

"What the hell just happened?" One of the Kaijou players asked as he unconsciously jogs to the ball. The sequence was brutally quick and mind-rattling.

Five seconds ago was the tip-off start, then all of a sudden they got scored on by a center who runs like a point guard at the end.

"Calm down!" Kasamatsu informed them.

With the inbound pass to Kasamatsu, everyone jogged to the other side.

The coach of Kaijou has his eyes narrowed at the play. Was this planned before the game?

Anyways, it was just that play. They'll shake it off for seconds.

Kaijou's number 4 player had his finger sticking out in the air before saying, "Let's keep our pace!"

'Smack'

Unaware of Kuroko's invisible presence, the ball from Kasamatsu's hand was smacked away by Kuroko.

"(Nani?! Where did he come from?!)" Kasamatsu saw Seirin's player number 11 running to the basket. But he wouldn't let him.

Soon afterwards he caught up, remarking how slow Kuroko is. He successfully stopped him from the fastbreak.

Or was he?

Kuroko was dribbling with his right arm as he switched it to his left and passed the ball behind him to Kagami.

He jumped and threw the hammer down with force, earning a smirk from Riko Aida, and a jaw dropping expression from the Kaijou High coach.

"Yosha!" Kagami fist pumped, burning with excitement before he felt something heavy. Looking to his right, he was bewildered.

He was holding the broken hoop, causing a turmoil amongst the Kaijou High basketball players.

"He... He broke the hoop!"

"You're kidding! I can't believe it!"

"That's insane!"

Shun Izuki inspected the conditions of the bolts on the backboard.

"That thing's dangerous. One of the bolts is rusted." He said.

"Even so, that's not normal." This time it was Kasamatsu who said it.

"This thing is bigger than I thought." Kagami described the hoop in his grasp.

Good thing the author put the word 'hoop' there or else it's another out of context situation by Seirin's Power Forward.

"I wasn't expecting the hoop to be destroyed." Haruto spoke with a stunned look.

Riko Aida was repeatedly bowing her head in apology for one of her players breaking a property of Kaijou's.

Kuroko and Kagami walked towards Coach Takeuchi as Kuroko bowed his head. "I'm sorry we broke your hoop. Since we can't play like this, could we use the full court?"

Takuechi couldn't say anything but grumbled at the Seirin players. Haruto took notice of the way the coach behaves. "(He's growling like a dog. It's funny.)"

The next thing they saw is the Kaijou High's coach announcing everyone to stop the training, and clean the floor that will be used for the whole duration of the practice game. Soon, the gym is being filled with crowds on the second floor and at the entrances.

While the newcomers are cleaning the gym, the broken hoop was placed at the far corner of the gym.

Kise chuckled at the destroyed hoop before commenting, "Now that's what you call a beating."

"Huh?" Kagami raised his eyebrows when heard that.

"Is it the hoop or the coach?" Haruto asked.

"Both, but I've never seen Coach Takeuchi like that before." Kise explained. Seirin's center looked around to see if the mentioned person was within hearing distance. But he's far away from them, making him pull the trigger.

"If you're saying that he growls like a dog, then I agree." Haruto indirectly roasted the coach of Kaijou High.

"You should tell him that's what he gets for underestimating us!" Kagami said.

"What's more concerning," Kuroko began to tread his way to the bench where his teammates were. "Is how much is the replacement cost for the hoop?"

"Gah." Kagami was taken aback by the news. "We have to pay for that?"

He blinked multiple times before looking at a certain person.

"You! You planned this, huh?!"

"Maybe, maybe not." Haruto retorted. "Planned to make a welcoming gift to Kaijou? Yes. But this? No fucking way, my friend."

The reason why Kagami aimed at his giant friend is because of the plan they talked about in the locker a few minutes ago.

==A Few Minutes Ago==

When they were putting their bags in the locker, Haruto started a conversation.

"I have a plan of surprise for the Kaijou High." This caught everyone's attention.

"Oh? Care to tell us?" Riko asked.

"But first, coach, will I become part of the starting five?"

"Of course. I planned for you to be the center."

"Okay. If I win the tip-off, if the ball went to the Captain's hands, I'll sprint my way to the basket and Kuroko will pass it to me and I'll score it. After that, we'll let our opponents go to their court. Whoever's got the ball, Kuroko will steal the ball and make his way to the basket. Kagami, be ready to get behind Kuroko as they'll catch up to him and you'll make the score."

"Got it."

"And if you didn't win the tip-off?" The coach inquired.

"Then skip to the second part. Kagami's the host for the party... while I'm the gift for them. A surprise gift at that."

==Present==

"So, for the replacement cost, I think it's about ¥62,109 to ¥69,000 if professionally installed." Nishimura calculated the price, making Kagami cringe internally at how pricey it is.

"We'll worry about that later. For now, let's focus on this game."

They all gathered on their respective bench side as the acting referee declared, "Let the game resume."

The starting five of Seirin entered the court, and so does Kaijou's. However, the crowds were amazed by what they saw.

Seirin's five pulled a smile on their face as the one and only Kise Ryota joined the sma-game.

"Sorry to keep you waiting." Kise expressed.

[Substitution; Kaijou High]

Kise Ryota (#7; In) - ??? (#6; Out)

"You're finally in." The first-year trio smirked.

"You're way too intense for a model when you're on." Hyuga remarked.

"He's not just putting it on a show." Kuroko informed them.

"Kya!!! Kise-kun, over here!"

"He's so hot!"

A few number of Kaijou High School female students attended the practice match and started to yell his name, and how hot and handsome he is.

"What the?"

"This happens every time he plays." Kasamatsu casually explained to Hyuga who was beside him. The number 4 player of Kaijou saw the all-rounder start to wave at them.

"Quit waving to them, you idiot!" Annoyed, Kasamatsu ran and kicked Kise at the rear.

"Ow..." Kise comforts his buttocks while standing up before facing Kasamatsu. "Mou, you already hit me, Kasamatsu-senpai."

Now known as the senpai, Kasamatsu trotted to his face and asked, "Do you understand what's going on, Kise? Who the hell is number 10?"

"Number 10?" The blonde boy looked at Seirin's player who wear the said number and told his senpai, "Ah, that's Kagami."

"Kagami? I've never heard of him."

"Eheh, forget about him. The guy who made the bullet pass and stole the ball, number 11, is my teammate from Teiko, Kurokocchi."

"(Kurokocchi?)" Haruto wondered at the weird nickname Kise created.

"Isn't he amazing? Ne. ne?"

Kasamatsu strengthened his fingers and stabbed his annoying kouhai. "Why are you so happy about it?"

"In any case," He changed the subject. "They gave us quite a greeting. It'd be rude if we didn't return the favor."

Kise didn't say anything, but smiled at the thought of it before the whistle blew.

Inbound pass to Kasamatsu, he run to the court as Kise swiveled his way to the basket. Kagami was about to chase him, but was screened by number 5.

Hyuga attempted to stop Kasamtsu. However, the senpai passed the ball in between Hyuga's legs to Kise Ryota, who was wide open.

"Raaaahhh!!!" Shouting his lungs out, Kise jumped to the rim and attempted to dunk.

But was met with a sudden force. Someone swatted the ball away from him and it went out of bounds. Seeing the ball out of bounds, he looked over his shoulder and was surprised by the presence of Haruto.

Everyone was in disbelief by the scenario. The center of Seirin challenged and successfully blocked Kise Ryota, who was one of the members of Generation of Miracles.

Kagami was appalled. He was beaten by Kise a few days ago without any effort. And yet, Haruto here rejected Kise as if he's like an average player.

He can tell that the dunk holds a lot of power.

Back at the two players, the two were staring at each other. One was asserting dominant and the other was aghast.

"Nishimura Haruto's the name." The black-haired giant introduced himself. "Hope you like the gift and the introduction, Kise Ryota."
