Kace isn't what people would ideally look for in a future king. He's arrogant, for starters, despite how secretive he is. Kace doesn't care about things easily, and even when he does care, it isn't usually shown unless you really know him. When he does care about someone, he will do anything for them. He is a very passionate person [even if it isn't about being king one bit], and he is extremely artistic. He tends to be forward and bold, but he is also adventurous and outgoing. His defiant and deceptive attitude is apparent to almost everyone he meets due to how rebellious he is.

Kason takes pleasure in the outside world, even if he rarely gets to see it. He loves learning about what it is like outside of the palace and seeks out information at all times. But, he still enjoys his secrecy, as well. He likes being locked up in his room, sitting by a fire and pouring his heart out through painting. He also enjoys a good adventure, though, and will stop at nothing to not be bored.

Being bored is probably the one thing Kason detests the most, hence the reason he's never at board meetings with his father and why Alec usually takes his place. He likes learning about the outside world, but hates it learning about him. With the way he grew up so secretly, he can't help but enjoy thay secrecy, so when there is a risk, he will stop it at nothing. He also dislikes making people upset or hurting people, which is another reason he closes himself off.

Kace's flaws consist of his forwardness and his lack of openness. Also, how little he shows that he cares about people. He tends to be stubborn, as well, and can be a bit of a player when it comes to hearts. He simply just doesn't want to let anyone fall for him, though the curiosity of what he could have keeps him interested in relationships, so it is easier to have a way to break hearts, in his opinion. Cruelty and ruthlessness are also traits that he picked up from his father.

His strengths are his ability to act calm, even under stressful situations and his assertive attitude. No matter how much he hates the throne, he can't deny the fact that he will be higher on it one day.

His weaknesses are probably that he is impatient and can't even allow himself to try and fall in love, or let anyone fall for him.

The Romance Curse

The curse claims that Kason will be faced with three major boundaries throughout his love life. One of them would be the inability to fall in love, which is why he has sworn off attempting it, not wanting to see if it is true. The second would be that whoever fell in love with him would automatically take on one of the Schreave's curses and that within two months, the curse would strengthen to the point of killing the lover. The third was that if he ever got close to the point of love, he would never be able to leave the person's side without extreme penalties.

Alec is very kind-hearted and is full of passion. When it comes to romance, he will be a die hard romantic, even if it doesn't appear that way at first. Outside of that, he is extremely intelligent. He loves discovering new things. Despite how secretive he is, it doesn't show in him like it does in his family members. But once you realize he has just as much to hide, you will see how much not being able to be honest about it pains him. He wants to be honest more than anything and he will be about what he can. He is very understanding and motivated by something that no one was ever quite able to figure out.

Alec isn't skilled at art like his brother is, but he can write his heart out. Everyone says it likely has something to do with his curse, but he simply shrugs it off. Like Kason, he also enjoys his privacy, but loves being out in the open so much more. When he writes, he usually likes to go outside and imagine what it would be like if the sun still shone over the palace. He also likes talking to people, even if he finds it difficult sometimes because of his curse. Photography is also a passion of his, since he can take a lot of pictures for writing inspiration later down the road. A lot of times, you might see him taking pictures of the most random things, yet find them coming out looking beautiful.

Alec can't stand his curse, more so than anyone in his family. In the past, people have tried to use it against him to get the truth from him, and he can't help but give it up, so it makes him irritated when people do that. He also hates the fact that his brother has the throne instead of him, simply because he thinks that he would be a better ruler, no matter how selfish it sounds. Interrupting him is another way to get on his bad side and criticizing him for things that he can't control.

Alec can get jealous easily and sometimes come off as having a big ego because of how smart he is. It just happened to be that he enjoyed reading so much when he was little. Despite his honesty, he is also good at running around and being sneaky, which can be a flaw in some people's eyes and a strength in others'. Sometimes, he can be a bit naive, but he hates it being mentioned, likely because he knows how true it is. People offending his (which can happen easily) is also a weakness and his passion for romance can go anyway.

The Honesty Curse

Like Kason, three boundaries were placed on Alec's section of the curse, which was honest. The boundaries included; If Alec were to lie, the lie would in some way become true, no one would ever be able to fully trust him without a portion of the family's curse coming down on them, and if someone asks him for the truth of something he doesn't want to tell or would rather lie about, he has no choice but to flat out tell them.

Alec can hear what they call the "honest" voices of the dead that wander around the palace. He also has some sort of look that no one can quite describe that somehow forced people to tell the truth.
