When I hurriedly slam open the fourth door on the right, I am aghast to see and feel the body of a forty year old woman in a ripped dark green dress collapse against me, golden ichor still streaming from her forehead. I whip around and am about to head out, when the lady-who is actually still not destroyed yet-whispers, "Hey young man, take this and give it to Maggie," holding up a ... crumpled piece of paper.

I demand, "Why?"

"Just take it." She answers, her breath beginning to shatter like a broken vase. "Maggie-" Here, she coughs and wheezes, then finishes. "Needs ... it ..." Before I can say anything else, the woman's wild eyes shut close and she goes limp.

I snatch the paper and head out the door, taking a closer peek at the thing. When our assassin attacked us last night on the graveyard fields last night, I have noticed that I have X-ray vision for some reason. And I saw Xander, who was beside me, lift up object with his eyes. Then, Hazel can turn invisible and Lily can shape shift.

Deciding to use X-ray vision right now, I narrow my dark eyes and concentrate on the paper, trying to look through it instead of at it. Surprisingly, what I see inside isn't words, but a gleaming golden object. A key.

Why the hell will Maggie need a key? To open the door to heaven so we can all parade inside, joyriding on pink fluffy unicorns? Or, she has yet another spirit sanctuary to stay in just in case a new tragic event happens again.

Whatever, I just need to deliver this thing to Maggie. I'll ask her about the key when I give it to her.

Shoving the paper into my jacket pocket, I go look for Xander, Lily, and Hazel. First, I scan the rooms on the left side of the hallway. In one of them comes a smoky oder. I fan my nose with my hand and look away.

Wait ... what if Xander is in that smoky room and he fainted or something? Well if that really did happen, then he must have been smart enough to at least leave. But still ... I bang open the wooden door, and to my confusion and worry, Xander actually is in the room.

I run over to him. "What are you doing? Don't you know you could choke to well, death in here?"

In a daze, he mumbles, "Mark, I just oversaw the destruction of an innocent little kid." For once, I notice the hoarseness in his voice and the faint tear marks down his cheeks.

"Of course, practically everyone's getting destroyed here."

"That little kid had a dad, who was all she had, and he got burnt."

"You can tell me later. Hurry up and let's move!"

"But you have to know that Maggie-"

"We'll talk later, we need to get out of here!"

He nods, and we silently scramble down the stairs for Hazel and Lily. Unfortunately, we couldn't spot them until a sudden silver blade flies into thin air and-all to quickly-plants itself into the ankle of my right foot.

The pain is all too great; a groan escapes my dry lips and I clench my fists in agony.

A familiar voice then calls, "Mark? Xander?" Lily.

Then Hazel. She rushes over, her face wrenched in shock. "Oh my god, you okay? I totally didn't mean to hit you; I thought you were an assassin."

"How did you mistake me to be an assassin?" I demand.

She replies, "Well, why wouldn't I? This place just was total chaos. So many people have fallen, and the lucky ones escaped with Maggie to who-knows-where."

I wrench the knife out with a scream, and mutter, "Anyone have a cloth or something?"

Lily grabs a piece of her jeans and rips it off. "Here."

"Thanks." I wrap the fabric around my ankle, and stand up, wincing. "We need to find Maggie."

"Why?" Hazel demands. "I'm not going to get myself into chaos again, looking for her!"

"Agreed." Lily adds. "What are we doing, besides imperiling ourselves?"

"True, we can live off by ourselves even though our families believe we can't return back to being normal people just cause we're dead." Xander nods. "I'm going." (A/N: Xander snaps his fingers and a jet pack appears strapped on his back. He zooms off into the sky, yelling, "SO LONG, SUCKERS!" XD, If only that happened.)

When everyone turns to me, I almost reluctantly mumble, "Yeah." But I'm worried that we need to stay together, since ... well, I just feel like we have to stick together. Then, an idea pops up in my head. "Wait, we can text each other in case something goes wrong."

"How?" Lily demands.

"I dunno, we try and will ourselves into our ..." Dead body parts. No, that sounds too weird and disgusting. "Ashes," I try-shooting a glare at Hazel as she smirks at me. "Like we did the night before. And get our phones."

"Yeah right, cause we'd totally get buried with our phones instead of having our families open up an RIP message on our message boards, cause that's really useless." Hazel snorts. She's nearly as sarcastic as I usually am, maybe even more.

I snap, "What else do you suggest, Your Highness?" When she goes blank and sulks at the ground-at this point Lily and Xander are exchanging Oh-no-let's-just-run looks-I grin.

Xander cuts in. "I'll try." He jogs over to his headstone, and suddenly shrinks into the ground. We wait for him to pop back up and do whatever he would do, but Xander never shows up.

"Here, I'll go in, you two wait." With that, Hazel sprints towards her own headstone, disappearing. What seems like a century passes.

"Okay, something weird is going on," Lily frowns, her green eyes worried. "Let's go and stand above Xander's headstone and just wait."

As we stand there, a waving hand that belongs to Hazel suddenly strikes out, trying to touch the surface. Lily and I make an attempt to pull her up, but whatever that's holding her down shoves her into the ground again. Wait, I have X-ray vision. I concentrate on the ground, and I can't figure out what I'm seeing. All I can picture is darkness, and two figures-Hazel and Xander-flailing around helplessly. Lily narrows her eyes and crouches down, putting a hand on the headstone, when she get sucked into the grass and dirt as well!

Just as I think that this can't get any worse, I whip around to see about eight-no, twelve-tall people in dark green suits scampering towards me, led by a woman with short blond hair and green eyes that seem to bore into my soul. She surprisingly has Xander's hair color and nose curve, but I must be imagining things. What I need to do now is run.

I take off like a bullet, my heart hammering with each wheezing breath I take. Four men follow closely behind me, and they're getting dangerously close. Oh no, my eyes dart around and I spot a tall tree with some branches. Shoving my heel on the hard bark, I pull myself up that ginormous piece of wood. Luckily, none of these suckers can climb. I elevate higher and higher into the tree just as a dark purple dart brushes my shoulders. Wait, what? I look down, and sure enough, the four men have dart guns.

More and more purple darts fly past me, and I wildly jump around, trying not to get shot or fall at the same time. Suddenly, an unusual light lavender thing shoots towards my head, almost like slow motion, and plants itself in place. I feel myself growing more tired through each passing second, and my body plummets towards the ground and lands with a devastating thud. Unfortunately, the key in my pocket jumps out, and a person picks it up with a smirk.

The last thing I see is Lily, Xander, and Hazel struggling to get free from eight more henchmen and their menacing boss, and finally getting shot and pulled over to a large purple truck, before I slip into darkness.
