A massive guy is chasing Cody down the field. When I say massive I mean he's over 6ft, close to 7ft, he is wide like a tank. He has brown hair and brown eyes, tanned skin, bulky muscles. I bet I could do chin ups on the muscles he's got.

Tank! Yep, that's what I'm going to call him. Tackles Cody to the ground. His huge frame ends up on top of Cody.

Cody pushes the guy off him.

"Aunty Ashton is uncle Cody alright?"

I watch him pick up the ball and pass it to someone. "Yes, he is."

Cody runs down the field.

Sandra looks at me. "How many tries for the Richy and Cody?"

I smile. "Cody 12, Dick 5."

She pouts. "I'm going to lose $100 to you, that sucks."

I laugh. "You shouldn't bet on your boyfriend."

Sandra shrugs. "I'll continue to lose money to you until I can find something that Richy is good at."

"It's going to take you awhile to figure that out."

Dick has the ball. He runs down the field and passes the ball to Cody. Cody catches it and runs down the field. Cody dodges a player and keeps running down the field. Another player tries to tackle him but misses. Cody scores a try for the team.

Dad sets up the ball in front of the goal post and kicks the ball over the goal.

Lauren looks over at dad and smiles. "After all these years your father is still incredible."

During the half time break the men and the girls walk over to the partners or friends.

Dad, Richy and Cody sit on the run with us.

Cody sits behind me and his legs stretches out on either side of me.

Kendal lies her head on Cody's shoulder. "I want to go home."

Cody searches through the bag for something. "You can play with this until the games over."

She takes the phone from his hands.

Cody takes the bottle of water from me. He chugs the whole thing. "Do you have anymore water?"

I give Cody a sports drink.

Dad is holding Lauren in his arms and he whispers something to her. She nods and smiles at him.

I lean against Cody and close my eyes.

He kisses the top of my head. "I have to get back on the field." He lies me down on the rug.

Kendal wakes me up. "Aunty Ashton the games nearly over. You should watch the rest of the game."

I sit up on the rug and watch the rest of the game.

Dad has the ball and he runs down the field. A guy tackles dad to the ground. Dad stands and throws the ball to Dick.

Dick catches the ball and runs down the field. He sidesteps a couple of players. He gets tackled to the ground. Dick stands up and throws the ball to Cody.

Cody catches the ball runs down the field and he scores the final try.

Dad kicks the conversion.

I run onto the field and throw myself into Cody.

He hugs me. "Let's go home, babe."

Cody and I pack up the picnic rug.

Kendal skips away listening to music.

Sandra and Dick follow us to the cars.

"What are you doing now?" Sandra asks.

Cody wraps his arm around me. "Come to our place. Kendal and Ashton spent last night baking and decorating the house.

In the car I pull out my mobile and find a message from Mum.

Mum: The bassinet came this morning. You need to hide it before Ashton sees it.

Me: where did you put it?

Mum: it's in the lounge room.

Me: thanks, I'll take care of it.

I forgot about the bassinet. I ordered it when I found out Ashton was pregnant.

When I got home from ditching town after Margot's funeral I spent the time decorating the babies room.

I wonder what Ashton will say when she sees it.

I'm not sure if she will be ready to see the room just yet.
