Your POV:

"Oh! Yes, of course. I live here. What house are you trying to sell?" I asked. I cocked my eyebrow. None of the houses on the block were for sale. Well, that I was aware of.

The woman gave me a strange look. "The only house on the street for sale of course!" she said. She pointed to the house right next to us.

"Oh? Wow. I didn't realize that he moved..." I mumbled, thinking of my neighbor, the one I only saw once, when I was locked out of my house with Travis.

"What do you mean, miss? No one has lived there for seven years now," Cassandra said.

"Oh, excuse me, Cassandra, but there was someone living there. About a month ago, I saw a man there," I said.

Cassandra flipped through her papers. "Nope! The house hasn't even been rented out. When did you see this man?"

"We saw him about a month ago. He came out of the house and sat on porch. He even talked to us for a second. There was definitely someone there," Travis said.

I shook my head in confusion and wonder, trying to push my thoughts away.

"I'll call homeland security right away. It sounds like someone broke in and used it somehow," Cassandra said. She pulled out her phone. "Thank you, guys," she said, smiling. Then she turned to the house next door, the one for sale. "They must've hidden the 'For Sale' sign too!" She exclaimed. She walked over, rummaging through the bushes, finally finding the white sign, with the words, 'For Sale' in big bold red letters, with the date it went on sale at the bottom. Seven years ago.

It was all so strange. I could barely contain my curiosity and fear. I gazed upon the house, seeing that there were cobwebs in the corners of the windows. The house was in desperate need of repair. How could I ever think that someone was living there? It looks like it's been abandoned for ages.

A chill ran down my spine. An eerie feeling arose in me, and I clutched Travis' arm unknowingly. Travis took note of this and embraced me, pulling me close.

"Y/N, you know how I said that it was impossible for your house to be locked if you let your keys at home? You have to lock your door from the outside on this door, but you wouldn't be able to do that unless you brought your keys in the first place. However, you didn't. You left them inside. I think that this guy got in through the unlocked front door and locked it behind him. I don't know what his purpose was for breaking in. Have you been missing anything in your house? Maybe he stole something. This would also explain why your puppies were so timid and frightened when you called them out," Travis explained.

"N-No, I haven't been missing anything. That explains some things, but nothing in my house was moved. I'm pretty sure. What would he be doing in my home?" I asked.

"I don't know. It's probably nothing. I'm probably just overthinking everything. You're fine. My theory wouldn't work anyways because he wouldn't be able to get out and into the next door house without unlocking the door again," Travis said, smiling.

I slowly frowned as I realized something. "My back door was cracked open when I got back into my house. I left it locked..." I whispered.

Travis looked at me with a concerned look, his eyebrows furrowed and his lips curved inwards.

"Y/N, everything is going to be okay. Nothing was stolen or anything, so you don't have to worry about anything. Just breathe. You're okay," Travis said with a reassuring smile.

"Travis, I'm scared..." I confessed.

Travis frowned. "He's gone, and you'll never leave your house unlocked again. Plus, I'll be here to protect you, okay?" Travis asked. He cupped my face in his hands.

I nodded. I saw Cassandra getting into her car and waved goodbye.

Travis turned around, his back facing me, looking at the house beside us with wonder. He appeared to be deep in thought.

I was still really scared and anxious. I only felt safe when Travis was around, and I didn't feel comfortable being alone that night. "T-Travis, c-can you stay over here t-tonight...?" I asked.

Travis stayed silent and just dramatically turned around to face me.

"I-I'm s-sorry! I-I-I'm just r-really c-creeped out. I-I understand. Y-You w-want to t-take this s-slow, b-but I w-wish y-you w-would sleep with me. N-NO!!! I-I don't mean it like that!!! Not sleep with me!! I m-mean, I-I d-don't think we shouldn't s-sleep together! I-I wouldn't m-mind that!!! Of course I-I like y-you in that way!!!" I stuttered. Realizing what I said, I turned a bright red. I was blushing so hard I could be the definition of 'red' in a dictionary. I laughed nervously, biting my bottom lip. In the corner of my eye, I saw Travis looking the exact same way. Travis stepped closer to me, his face as red as a tomato, and his eyes a little wide in shock. I hid my face in my hands, too embarrassed to show my face. "Ugh! This is coming out in the wrong way!! I-I'm sorry! I mean, I wish you would sleep in the same b-bed as-"

I was interrupted by Travis' lips pressing against my lips as he removed my hands from my face. Even though I was shocked by the sudden kiss, I sunk into it quickly, kissing back.

Travis pulled away, smiling, cupping my face with his hands. "You're so cute," he said, chuckling. He was still an extremely bright red. "You know t-that you don't have to be shy around me. I understand what you mean," Travis whispered. "That is quite funny though... -and adorable. Yes, of course I'll stay the night." Travis laughed a bit, pecking my lips.

I smiled. "Oh, okay. Thanks, babe," I whispered, giggling.
