First off... I'm so sorry that the last part was poorly written. It was extremely cheesy and cringe worthy. I apologize. :(

Anyways, on to the story!

Y/N's POV:

A shiver went down my spine as I walked through the field of grass. Clumps of dirt and mud had gathered on my feet as they met the wet grass, which was covered in dew. I could see a house in the distance, with the silhouettes of trees snaking around it in the background. Smoke rose from the chimney, the little speaks of ashes dispersing into the darkening sky. It appeared to be about 8:00 p.m. The sun was just about to set behind the horizon, and the once blue sky was now bursting with fiery colors as it slowly turned into dark blue.

Coming from the house, I heard a blood curdling scream. All of the hairs on my body rose, and a sort of cold breath of air ran down my neck as my hands clammed up. The cold air of the night wrapped around me as I began to run. My feet hit the ground, creating the sound of a drum. I sped up, faster and faster towards the house. The lights were on, and they acted like a lantern to guide my way through the darkness.

The wilderness around me frightened me even more, for snakes and mice scurried across the fielded area. I could hear the noises of wolves howling in the distance, and I began to speed up. I was lured to the house, like a magnet. No matter what, I could not run in any other direction. I could not stop running either. Even if there were many dangers around me, I knew that the worst of them lied in the wooden walls of that home.

I could not catch my breath, if you could even say that I was breathing. I was mostly wheezing and coughing. Some sort of invisible force pushed me to run, faster than most could ever do. My legs ached, and many bloody scratches appeared on them as shrubbery and longer grass hit against them. The taste of copper soon filled my mouth, and I felt like my lungs were going to explode. I could hear my heart banging against my chest, and my chest began to throb.

As I neared the house, I began to panic even more. Tears streamed down my cheeks, and my legs began to feel numb. I shook like a leaf, but couldn't stop running. I was feeling faint. There was ringing in my ears and there were spots everywhere. I knew that I was having a panic attack. Thoughts rushed through my head as I got even more worried as to what was to happen to me once I reached the house and stepped through the doors. It felt like my own eyes were shaking in their sockets, and everything was spinning like a tornado, or shaking like an earthquake. I just began to feel more dizzy, to the point that I felt like I was about to black out.

The tips of my fingers began to tingle, and the sensation spread throughout both of my hands. It felt like pins and needles, and that they were asleep. I couldn't do anything about it though. I had lost all control of my body. My hands became numb, which only made me panic even more. My eyes were glued to my hands as I ran. Tears fogged up my vision. I was so scared. I didn't know what to do. I didn't even know where I was.

Luckily, the numbness of my hands was able to distract me long enough to calm down. I may have been able to end my panic attack, but now I was right in front of the danger that laid ahead.

I reached my hands out, unable to control it as it grabbed the silver door handle. As I did so, I saw a golden thread appear before my eyes, tied around my wrist. My whole body began to morph, until I was some sort of wooden puppet with strings attached attached to me. The strings went straight up into the sky, fading out into the air above, as if an invisible pair of hands held them. A smile was forced into my face, but the tears kept falling as I twisted the doorknob.

I caught my reflection in the doorknob. My eyes were like the glass ones that dolls have, and my lips appeared to be painted on my face, curved into a wicked grin.

I pushed the door open, seeing that it was pitch black inside, which was strange because the lights were on from outside. The only light that was there were a few dim lit candles on the walls. It smelt strongly of blood, making me want to gag.

Looking down the hallway where the candles were, I noticed that they were leading me somewhere. I was forced to walk straight forward, down the hallway, which appeared to go on for infinity.

As the smell of blood became stronger, the scent of smoke also appeared. The hall stretched and shrunk as I walked down it. I could barely see anything with the lighting.

After what seemed like an eternity, I finally saw a door at the end of the hall. It was a plain wooden door, with a golden door handle. Just like before, I was forced to open it.

What I saw made me gasp. My whole body shook and I jumped back as I finally got control of my body back. The door slammed and locked behind me, leaving me in the room with the creature before me.

A thin, slender figure laid on the ground, but I could not see it very well because it was blocked by a pair of wings. The wings were huge, stretching to each side of the room, and squished inside of the area. The room was quite spacious, about the average size of a bedroom, but the creature's wing span was even longer than the length of the room. The wings were made of hundreds of pure pearl white feathers. However, the wings laid limp on the ground on top of the figure, the edges of them burnt. Some of the feathers were stained with blood, others blackened by fire. Feathers laid scattered across the whole entire ground.

An angel.

Then, as a few words uncontrollably escaped my lips, the same words escaped from the angel's lips as well.

"Angelus custos," we both said at the same time. The angel didn't even look up. I couldn't see their face or body. However, they were able to say what I was saying... At the exact same time.

I didn't even know what I was saying. Since when did I know Latin?
