When the Interrogator reached his table, he didn't reach for his normal tools. Instead, he picked up a syringe full of clear liquid and turned to Amanda, smiling that cold, heartless smile she knew all too well. She closed her eyes, refusing to look at him anymore.

"Today, you will tell me what I want to know," he informed her. She didn't respond, and didn't struggle when he shoved the needle into her arm and released the clear fluid into her arm.

He watched as she lay on the table, completely still. Then the pain registered, and her eyes flew open. A scream forced itself out of her and she tugged at her restraints, her eyes glowing a fiery orange color.

It faded after about a minute, and her eyes returned to their normal, stormy blue color. Sweat covered her and she was breathing hard.

The Interrogator approached her and tilted the table up so that she could see him. She closed her eyes, purposely trying to shut him out.

"Are you ready to answer my questions now?" he asked.

She didn't reply, so he repeated himself. Finally, she met his gaze and her eyes shone with defiance. "If you think I'll tell you a thing, you're wrong." I may have gotten myself into this mess, but I won't give him any information that could hurt someone.

"I think you'll change your tune," he replied, a smile on his face. "We'll let the serum take effect first, shall we."

After trudging through endless forest, they reached a clearing with a metal facility. It looked like most of it was underground so getting in couldn't be direct.

"Are there any guards?" Shadow asked, arching his neck to see if there was anyone around the corning of the facility.

"Most likely. If there are none covering this side that means there are few of them, they're not doing their job, or this side is essentially entry-proof. Why don't you circle around and take a look?"

Shadow nodded and disappeared into the bushes.

"Think we could get through this supposed 'entry-proof' side?" Ajax asked.

"I don't know. Going through the main entrance could be more dangerous, but we'd have the element of surprise. I'm afraid if we get caught on this side, there might be no coming back," Zephyr replied.

A few minutes later Shadow returned with a smug look on his face, "There are few of them and they're not doing their job."

Zephyr scoffed, "For having such a tough reputation, the Interrogator doesn't exactly run a tight ship."

"Let's take 'em out," Ajax smirked and stretched his fingers.

Zephyr couldn't help but smile at the fact she was one step closer to Wren.

"Let's. But be ready if it's a trap."

"A trap?" Shadow asked while Ajax nodded and went ahead.

Zephyr looked him in the eye, "Always assume it's a trap."
