Ted barged into the room and threw the gloves on the floor. His blonde hair was messy and his cheeks flushed. He didn't look pleased that I was at his place. He marched towards me and I gawked at him. He grabbed my arm and lifted me up. I gasped and struggled.

"Hey! Leave me - "

"Is this the way you treat girls? You manhandle these pretty angels?" I heard grandma's voice which was laced with disgust. I sighed in relief.

"But Nana - " He protested and I internally smirked. "I am very disappointed in you. Women don't deserve to be manhandled."

He let go of my hand immediately and looked down shamefully. Grandma gave him a full ten minutes lecture and I tried to keep a straight face. It was so funny and adorable to witness Ted obediently nod his head in agreement. He didn't utter a word the entire time.

Finally, grandma sighed and dismissed us. I followed Ted out of the room, grinning like a fool. Once we were out of the living area, I started giggling. Ted turned around and roughly caught my elbow.

"GRANDMA TED IS - "

He put his hand over my mouth to prevent me from complaining. I wiggled under his grasp. He held my elbow and dragged me upstairs. He shut the door and shoved me towards the closet.

"Who do you think you are - "

"For goodness sake, seal your mouth with duct tape. And I should be asking you, what shit did you feed my dear grandma with?" He demanded. I managed to pull my arm back out of his sharp grip. I took a couple of steps back, to maintain a descent distance between us.

"I did not feed your grandma with any lies, okay?" I said and waggled my arm. He laughed sarcastically. "How did she grew so fond of you then?"

"Ah...I told her that I was the girl from the other side of the closet. She looked excited and offered me a warm cup of coffee with snacks. Her hospitableness and friendliness made my heart jump in joy. She is so sweet, unlike you," I stated and he rolled his eyes. He casually went and plopped on his comfy bed. I too made myself comfortable on the wooden chair whose one leg was broken but it was supported by old magazines and books.

"Pass me that." I looked at the study table beside me and picked up an apple. I chucked it towards him and he caught it. "Why are you here?" Ted asked and bit into the apple.

"Umm..my aunt's son is in our house and he wanted to meet me so I came here to hide," I said and yawned. He chuckled and asked,"You don't like him then?"

"Huh? I don't want to talk about him. Anyway, I heard you work at the bakery. Do you bake stuff?"

"Nah, I handle the customers. We have employees who help grandma in baking breads and cakes," He said and I nodded. "Cool. So, you live with your grandma?"

"And also mum, but she's at work. And my dad well.." His voice trailed and I listened to him carefully. He didn't say anything, so I asked,"What happened to your dad?"

"Nothing," He mumbled. I groaned and insisted,"Aw, come on!"

He sighed and gave in. "He lives in the States,"

My eyes widened in excitement. He too understood my feelings. He quickly got up and pulled open a drawer. He scrambled through the bits and pieces of paper and finally retrieved a letter. He looked at the address and asked, "Again, tell me where do you live?"
