Fury

I hated to do this to him, but he was one of my best agents and unfortunately that's what I needed at the moment. After countless minutes of contemplating the outcomes I decided it was for the best. Agent Hill, who had been watching me during my internal debate, quickly stood, when I turned my attention to her.

"Send Agent Jackson to my office." I ordered.

She nodded and left to do my bidding. I headed to my office and prepared myself for the incoming conversation.

Hill

I swiftly approached Agent Jacksons office and knocked twice. Waiting a couple moments until the door opened a crack. His piercing seagreen eyes stared unblinkingly through the darkness of his office. Knowing he wouldn't speak until I did, I followed orders.

"The director wishes to meet with you in his office now."

The agent continued to stare at me without saying a word. Unsurprisingly, the door shut with a quiet click and no response. I let out a small breath I didn't know I was holding and waited.

Less than ten seconds later, the Agent was standing in front of me without a sound of the door moving. In silence we journeyed to the directors office. Once we got there he turned towards me, giving a slight nod of the head, to which I returned.

I knocked thrice on the door before turning and leaving the highly respected agent with a talk that would presumably not end well.

Fury

Agent Jackson entered my office without Agent Hill, so I assumed she wisely departed. Lucky her. I threw the Avengers Initiative file onto my desk as the agent carefully picked it up.

"What do you want me to do with this?"

His tone sounded mildly annoyed, guess today isn't his day. Well it's about to get worse.

"Read it."

He rolled his eyes,"After that."

I smirked at him. He's going to hate this, but what can you do. A job's a job.

"Work with them."

Instantly he glared at me and took a step away from my desk,"No. I'm an agent. I'm not joining a team."

"I said work. Not join, Agent Jackson." I corrected steely.

"Why." He growled.

"Remember that alien object we had you recover last week?"

"Yes..."

"What you brought us was an infinity stone. Thor, who is part of the avengers, knows more about these objects than SHIELD does, and because you brought it to us, it's your responsibility."

He stared at me blankly. I could see a sliver of annoyance in his eyes, but besides that he was completely stone faced. The perfect agent complexion.

"Besides," I continued, "I think you'll get used to them... eventually."
