Percy

It was lunch time and I was given a greatly needed break from the two scientists. Stark and Banner had questioned and studied me all morning about the foreign accessory. While they were distracted I had managed to sneak out unnoticed. I was eating a sandwich in the kitchen when my phone started ringing. Putting my half eaten sandwich down I answered my phone.

"Agent Jackson."

"It's Agent Riles. We need you. Hydra has revealed an attack that would slaughter millions." His voice was urgent, but something felt off.

"I have been instructed by the director to stay with the avengers for the time being." I replied warily.

"The director is unavailable at the moment. He's been taken by Hydra otherwise he would've called you himself." Agent Riles explained quickly, but I couldn't see him so I didn't know if he was telling the truth or not.

"What about Hill?" I refuted.

"Informing the council."

"Where?"

"Alaska. Get there by any means possible."

I hung up the phone and placed it back in my pocket before looking up. I was met with Steve and Agents Romanoff and Barton staring at me slightly concerned. I pushed my sandwich plate away from me and turned, heading to my room to get ready.

"Where are you going?" Steve asked sternly.

"I have a mission." I retorted, it's a bit obvious from my phone call.

"You can't leave." Agent Barton argued, "We've got to study and protect the stone."

I rolled my eye, of course he'd only care about the stone, "Don't worry about the Soul Gem, Agent. I'll keep it safe. After all, it's attached to me isn't it?"

"You can't guarantee it's safety Jackson. You're not—" Natasha began, but a flood of anger rushed through me.

I cut her off, "It's Agent Jackson, and I know I'm young, but I can take on a couple of mortals. I've had enough experience with far more powerful beings than people with guns."

Before I could be asked any questions I turned around and stalked to my room. Quickly I located my Hydra suit and changed. Wiping blank all my emotions, I grabbed my weapons and placed them in their sheaths before vapor traveling to Hyrda's Alaskan base. When I arrived, horror and anger overlapped on my face before my mask took place. I had just enough time to think that Agent Romanoff would never let this go, before I leapt into action.

Romanoff

Agent Jackson's been gone for a week and nothing seemed suspicious until someone unexpected visited Tuesday afternoon. Nick Fury walked into the living room looking more serious than ever. A grim expression on his face as he called all the avengers for a meeting. Displease was exhibited on his face when he counted one person short.

"Where is Agent Jackson, this is urgent and I don't have time to deal with his dallying attitude." Annoyance laced every word the director spoke, but was met with confused glances.

"He's not here director." Clint said, causing Fury to raise an eyebrow.

"And where exactly would he be?"

"He's on a mission, Sir." I input, "Agent Jackson's been gone for a week."

"What mission, he should be here. I ordered him myself to work with you."

That left us all confused. He said he had a mission and I even heard evidence of it in his call last week. Oh, the call! I don't remember it, but Stark has camera's all around in case of intruders.

"Jarvis, do you have the call Agent Jackson had right before he left on tape?" I asked surprising everyone.

"Yes ma'am, would you like me to play it for you?" He replied after a couple moments.

"Yes please."

Instantly Agent Jackson appeared on the tv screen eating his sandwich in silence and staring at nothing. His phone sounded and buzzed in his pocket. We watched how he sighed, put down his food, and took the call. When the voice on the other line started speaking, he immediately straightened and unconsciously masked his face of any emotion.

"Jarvis, enhance the sound coming from Jackson's phone." Tony ordered his AI system.

By the end of the conversation, Fury's face was as hard as stone and his eyes were filled with fury, as well as concern. The screen shut off as Agent Jackson left us on the screen to leave for his so called mission.

"This is exactly what I came here for, but it seems as if I was too late." Fury said angrily and started pacing.

"What does this have to do with the call? And how are you here? Agent Riles said on the phone you were captured." Clint demanded.

"It seems as we have several problems to deal with now." Fury responded, not answering Clint's question.

"What are the problems, director? Stop avoiding the questions and give us an answer, insufferable mortal!" Loki spit, finally fed up with the directors mysteriousness.

"Hydra's Alaskan base is overrun with chitauri and my best agent has been missing for a week with no contact because of a traitor within SHIELD. That is my problem Loki, and you all better have a plan to fix it."

Tell me what you think...
