Annabeth POV

Aprodite summons a love seat and shoves Percy into it, then me on his lap. We both blush and our friends snicker. He snaps once and the chair becomes a small couch and I sit next to him.

"So what should she be goddess of?" Aprodite asks excited.

"No," A stern voice says. I turn and see the Fates. "No," Lachesis repeats. "Not now. Perhaps afterwards."

"After what?" Athena asks. The Fates look at each other and I notice as Percy stiffens next to me.

"The war," Atropos answers.

"What war?" I ask.

"Long ago there was a prophecy one you all have forgotten," Lachesis says. "It tells of a Hero trained by the Fates who must face three evils." They pause letting that sink in and I hear as Percy mutters something to himself. I'm not able to catch what he says but, he stares at the floor. I have to know more.

"What is the Prophecy?" I ask.

"Perseus?" Lachesis asks kindly. Wait kindly? He sighs and nods. He sits straight up before speaking.

"As one evil falls three soon arise

A hero lost must return, and so he rises

He will be trained by those of the thread

Or once again fall dead

In the end four of his lie still

Four almost cause him to lose his will

The sky, the beauty, the healer, and the slayer

To defeat the evils his final prayer

The flaw slowly tears him apart

Once thinking of ending his own heart

The evils defeat the hero or the evils life is cost

Either way the hero is lost"

He finishes and we stare at him. No one says a word. Even Leo is speechless.

"So... Basically I have to die and so will four other people no matter the outcome..." He says sadly.

"Perseus you shall return home and we will continue to speak of the situation," Atropos says. At the word 'home' I think Camp but, Percy's eyes open wide.

"Come on! Please? I'm so bored there. I have no one to talk too. Blackjack drives me insane. The stupid monsters just get agravating. The water has no life. Can't I stay here?"

"No." The Fates answer in unison.

"Can I have my TV back? It's been three years. I've learned my lesson."

"No."

"Can my friends come?"

"No."

"Just for the day?"

"No."

"Just for a couple hours?"

"N- fine," Lachesis answers.

"Yes!" Percy shouts.

"Call your steed," she says as she hands him am envelope he snaps his fingers and his backpack appears and so does Blackjack appears. He neighs and Percy says.

"We are going home... I don't care if you liked that mare!... Her name doesn't matter..."

Clotho clears her throat and he rolls his eyes. He waves to the Olympians before the Fates tell us to close our eyes.

"Okay open," Percy's voice says. When I open my eyes I find us all on a beach. By us all I mean, the rest of the seven, Thalia, Nico, Reyna, Clarrise, Grover, Katie and the Stolls. "Welcome to my island. Le-" he starts but is cut off by a low growl and I turn to see as at the spot where a forest meet the beach three of hellhounds growl. We grab our weapons.

Percy walks forward and I see as water comes from behind us and hits the hellhounds. A second later there is nothing but dust.

"Woah! What did you do?" Leo asks excited.

"Evaporated their blood," Percy says calmly. He walks toward the water and I can tell it engergizes him. "It takes energy but it much easier then when I first tried it on the hydra. The monsters can't leave the forest anyway. Let's go toward the house. It's small but I'm hungry." He leads the way up a path and we follow, leaving no room for questions. Everyone talks but I feel like I've been here before but I don't know why...

We follow for a few minutes before ending up at a small familiar house.

"I know it's small you guys can come in or wait out here. I was just gonna start some food," He says. He walks inside and we all follow. There is only a small kitchen and living room. He walks in the kitchen and opens up the fridge. "So what do you want to eat?"

"You cook?" Leo asks.

"Don't have a choice. So what do you want?"

"Pizza!" "Enchiladas!" "Tacos!" "Pizza!" More suggestions are thrown around.

"Shut up!" Everyone silences. "How about burgers?" We nod in agreement. He grabs some stuff out the fridge and begins to cook. About ten minutes later he throws them in the oven to cook. And we head back outside. He summons a large picnic table and we talk.

"So what's upstairs?" Hazel asks.

"Just my room and the bathroom. Nothing special."

"So what do you do all day?" Jason asks.

"I hang out the beach, read, or whatever and one rule is I have to train daily. Gets pretty boring."

"You said" "you learned" "your lesson about a TV." "What did you do?" The Stolls ask.

"I was looking for the news to see if I could find out where I am."

"So wait you don't know where we are?" Reyna questions.

"Nope. The Fates control all that."

"What was that envelope the gave you earlier?" I ask.

"Oh thanks for reminding me." He goes back inside and grabs the envelope. He opens it and takes out some papers then looks them over. "Well what are they?"

"Personal file. Next target," He says.

"What?" Frank asks.

"Oh right you said your an assassin..." Grover says chewing a can Percy gave him.

"Is it cool?" Clarrise asks a sparkle in her eye.

"Yeah. It never gets any easier though. It's not exactly fun," he trails off looking through the papers. I can't believe he is an assassin. He kills people... Oh my gods. I know why this place looks familiar. I had a dream where he killed us here... But his flaw... But I saw it happen...

Nico POV

"Oh my gods..." Annabeth whispers. We all stare at her. She says nothing before looking up at Percy with fear in her eyes. She stands up quickly and backs away.

"Problem Wise Girl?" Percy asks. She takes another step back. He stands and asks her what's wrong and she shakes her head no. A few tears run down her face.

"Don't touch me," she growls. He flinches at her tone but backs off into the house. Saying he will check the food.

"What's your problem?" Clarrise asks.

"I had a dream a while ago. He drowned us all. Here. On this island."

"He wouldn't do that," I say firmly.

"His fatal flaw is loyalty," Hazel adds.

"I saw it happen."

"But he would never do that," Grover protests but I can here the unceartianty in his voice.

"I didn't have a choice," a voice says softly. I turn to see Percy standing in the the door way two plates of burgers in his hands. He sets them down.

"It was just an illusion. They didn't give me a choice. I cried the entire time. Then stayed in my bed for two days straight. Then they brought me to my mom's apartment. If you had a dream they showed you what they call 'my final exam'." He says nothing more and turns to go back inside.

"Wait! Turn around and tell us what happened." Piper says her voice dripping with charmspeak. He tuns around a dazed look in his eyes and he speaks again.

"They called me outside and you all appeared. I got happy then they said you were only illusions. When I asked what I was supposed to do they said I had kill the illusions. I began to cry. I refused and they just blasted me back. Then the illusions charged me going for the kill. I blocked but did nothing else. Then they blasted me again and yelled at me that this was final test. They had to break me. Make me face my flaw and worse fear. The illusions charged again. I ran toward the beach I created a whirlpool and surround the illusions. I begged and begged them not to make me but they just yelled again telling me if I didn't I would have to do it again and again." As he continues to speak tears roll down his face. "I cried and just said I'm sorry and crashed the wave down. The illusions drowned then vanished. I walked back, the Fates said something but I wasn't listening and I went to my room and stayed there for two days. I wish I had just killed myself instead..." He finishes trailing off. He blinks as if relaxing what just happened as the charmspeak wears off. He turns around and quickly disappears inside.

No one says anything. I guess I should. I grab two burgers and walk inside. I listen carefully and hear noises from upstairs. I walk up and find Percy sitting on his bed sobbing silently staring out a window. I walk closer and he freezes.

"Go away," he says softly.

"I could. But you don't want me to. Here," I say handing him a burger. He turns to face me slowly and takes it. He stares at it doing nothing. I take a bite of my own. We sit in silence for a while eating.

"It's not your fault," I say finally.

"Yes it is."

"You didn't have a choice. The Fates told you do something and when they do you don't get a choice. I know you would never do that to us."

"But I did," he protests.

"They were illusions. If it was the real thing you never would."

"How do you know?"

"You said that you wished you killed yourself. That is proof. You would die in place of your friends. You wouldn't kill me. You wouldn't kill Annabeth. You wouldn't kill your mom, Paul, your siblings. You wouldn't kill any of your friends or family. You don't like killing people you said you don't like being an assassin either. Just come back down and sit with everyone. You said you don't want to stay here alone anymore right? Well we won't be here much longer." I walk out the door and hear as he slowly follows. We go back outside. Everyone but Annabeth gives him a small smile. He chooses to sit next to me instead.
