Pit's POV:

It has been a week since I escaped the underworld.

Today was the day I'd fight Hades!

Today was the day I'd end his destruction! I always imagined Y/N to be here with me... Pittoo was back at Lady Palutena's Temple, he could have left but he decided to stay. I know he's staying just because he's afraid I'll do something stupid- like going back to the underworld to rescue Y/N.

But he's right, saving the world is supposed to be my top priority!

Lady Palutena was so happy when I came back, she had sent her Centurions everywhere in hopes of finding me if I made it out! It was reassuring to hear that she never gave up on me!

When I told her about Y/N, she said the same thing as Pittoo...

After giving her servant a faithful hug the goddess of light asked him a question.

"How did you get out, Pit?" She asked.

"Y/N! Got me out!" He said with a sad smile, Lady Palutena tipped her head in confusion "Y/N?" at the sound of his lost friend's name Pit launched into a full on story about their adventure.

"I only wish Y/N could have gotten out too..." He finished. "Y/N seems like a good person- err...Deity! But there is nothing you can do now Pit. We have bigger problems with Hades as it is... Maybe later we can do something for her?" The goddess offered seeing Pit's wings droop.

Pit knew deep down that she didn't mean those words.

Pit's POV:

I couldn't stop thinking about Y/N- the devastated look she gave me when I tried to help her... Now is not the time, Pit!

This is all Hades's fault! If he wasn't so evil then his minion...what's his name?- Messorem! Messorem wouldn't have taken control of Y/N, and she would still be with us! She would have gotten permission from Lady Palutena to stay alive and then we would have-

WAIT...

She needs permission from Hades to live. And Messorem is basically Hades, she can't do anything without Messorem unless she kills them herself... Which means if I kill Hades, Messorem dies... And if Messorem dies... OH NO-

Y/N WILL DIE TOO!

This means that for Y/N to live and Hades to die, Y/N needs to kill Hades herself! Because if I do- they both will die!

(AN: I didn't know Pit had it in him to figure that out-)

"LADY PALUTENA! YOU HAVE TO TAKE ME BACK!" I yelled urgently. "But Pit- Now is not the time!" She protests, I shake my head knowing she can't see me. "PLEASE!" I begged "But why?" "PLEASE- JUST TAKE ME BACK!"

"......"

"IT'S IMPORTANT!"

"Okay, Pit."

I heard the familiar warping noise and my vision turned white. I blinked my eyes a few times to take away the glare, I was back at Lady Palutena's Temple.

I heard footsteps behind me, I turned around and saw Pittoo and Lady Palutena rushing to meet me. They stopped in front of me and we just stood there for a minute, awkwardly.

Lady Palutena cleared her throat "What is it, Pit?" she asked. "It's Y/N-!" I began "Drop it, Pit!" Dark Pit glared at me, I glared back. "Listen!" I snapped "If I kill Hades- Y/N will die!" at those words Pittoo's eyes widened.

"Then what do we do?" Lady Palutena asked me, folding her arms. "The only way is if Y/N kills Hades herself!" I explained, it was weird that now I was the one explaining everything! "How do we do that?!" Pittoo asked.

"We have to bring her back."

"I'm coming too!"

"You can't..."

"Why not, Pit stain?!"

"I died, I can die one more time and that will take me to the underworld. I still have my string tied around my wrist even if we can't see it!" I said. Lady Palutena put a firm hand on my shoulder "That only works if you're in the underworld! You could actually die for real!" she yells.

I think for a moment "Only one way to find out..."

"NO!" Pitto yells "I WON'T LET YOU! YOU CAN'T TAKE AWAY YOUR LIFE FOR HER!" his eyes become glassy.

"She risked hers for me, Pittoo. Countless times," I said patiently "When taking me in, when she snuck me inside, when she gave me my string, when running away, with Phobos and Deimos, with the Chimaera and then with Messorem.. It's the least I can do!" it hurts me just thinking about her.

She could be in danger, heck she could even be dead and I will not know!

"Think about what you're doing Pit!" Lady Palutena says desperately, "I did... for a long time..." I reply. It hurts me to see them like this- especially Pittoo. He has his hand over his eyes and his face is turned away, he's shaking slightly... he's crying...

I walk over to him and place a hand on his shoulder "..Hey, Pittoo... If things come to the worst I still have a way to come back!.... You'll always have me to call you Pittoo!.." I say in an attempt to be cheerful.

Pittoo suddenly gives me a hug, I yelp in surprise. "You're an idiot." He whispers in my ear and then he let's go. He wipes his tears away and gives me a smile "If you don't come back... I'll kill you!"

"But I'll already be dead!"

"Oh, Shut up!"

Lady Palutena gives me a big hug. "I love you Pit, don't forget that! You're like the son I never had... Stay safe, please...!" she says, a drop of water drops on my shoulder. "Lady Palutena... are you crying?" I ask sadly.

"How can I not cry?! No go, Pit, be a hero..." She let's go of me and gives me a tender smile.

I step back and took out my bow, I looked down at my feet for a second. "I don't want you two to see this..." I tell them quietly.

I step outside Lady Palutena's Temple and go towards the edge of it, close to the steep drop.

I separate my bow and hold a sword in my hand. "For Y/N..." I whisper and I position the blade in front of my heart. I screw my eyes shut "I hope this works... The things I do for you, Y/N.."

I thrust the blade forward and a burst of pain floods through my body with a sickening, slash. I cry out at the pain and open my eyes. My tears blinded my vision and the pain was unbearable!

I stagger to the very edge...

I fall forwards...

I'm in too much pain to feel anything else...

The last thing I see before the darkness are my,

Falling Feathers...
