What Melrose had not expected, when arriving at the Mystic Grill, was nothing like she pictured her day to turn out.

Damarion and Melrose had intended to be meeting friends, it turned out a whole different situation-oh how small the world really was.

Melrose departed with her son when they entered the Grill, but it turned out to be useless, as soon as she saw Stefan, her son's friend Jeremy, seemed to be friends with him.

Although, what shocked her the most, was seeing a woman, who that resembled the one who caused her long-running relationship to end-Elena who turned out to be Jeremy's older sister.

She was, in fact, the doppelganger of said woman Katherine Pierce.

Melrose sat next to her son and him next to Jeremy, and across Elena and Stefan to say it wasn't awkward, was a complete understatement.

Melrose even after being told that Elena was in fact not Katherine still made her uncomfortable, knowing about the love triangle between the Salvatore Brothers the Pierce.

"I still can't believe it, you two used to be friends?" Jeremy said looking at Stefan and Melrose, it was kind of interesting, that after finding out the news, He did not just see her as Damarion's mother, and they were past that considering the line of where things were.

Stefan was just looking between the son and mother, still trying to grasp that concept, and Melrose chuckled," He's not adopted if you are thinking that Stefan, I had him before I was turned"

Elena tried not to laugh at the face Stefan was making," I...I can't help but feel like he resembles someone" Melrose gave him a look, considering that he was actually his nephew, but Damarion, did not resemble Damon in anyway but his eyes, so it confused her.

Melrose really wanted to never have to reveal such a secret, and especially not in this kind of situation, considering, one: Elena was the doppelganger of the woman, that his father left her for, and two: Stefan Salvatore was his Uncle and three: They were Gilberts, the family who hunted vampires.

Melrose sighed after being silent," I never wanted to tell you like this, and I should have told you sooner" Damarion looked at his mother knowing that she was going to reveal something, he could see the look on her face.

The two Gilberts shared looks unsure if they should leave, or just stay.

"Elena, doppelganger of Katherine Pierce, she was the woman-who Damon Salvatore, left me for, and when that had happened, I found out I was pregnant, with our child, Damarion" She said pointing to her son as everyone gasped, all different reasons, but to say the least, bewilderment.
