His promise

Ilang araw kong inigugul ang aking sarili sa pag aaral ni wala na akong tulog dahil rito. My friends and Heldiago worried at me because I'm too much focused in my studies to the point that I wasn't have time for myself.

"It's not bad to study but you should take care yourself Hei. Look at yourself! Namamaga na ang mga mata mo kakapuyat mo sa pag aaral mo para sa board exam mo." Vren scolded me. Napayuko nalang ako dahil sa mga sinabi niya.

I know that I'm being too much for myself. I'm just wanted to passed this board exam but in order to pass it I should study more.

"We just care for you. You're stress so you must rest even just a little bit." Rafael uttered.

This is for you Jenna. It's my board exam now and I was little bit nervous. I wish all my efforts become worth it.

"We'll begin at 10 minutes." Ayunsyo ng isang boses sa may speaker. Huminga muna ako ng malalim bago ako nag dasal.

Makalipas ang sampung minuto ay nagsimula na kaming mag exam. We're just behave and focused on our own paper.

Medyo sumasakit ang aking ulo dahil sa lumabas na mga tanong sa exam. I endured the headache I have been feeling right now. I must finished this without failing.

Inigawi ko ang aking kanang kamay na may hawak na ballpen sa aking may sintido, habang iniisip kung ano ba ang sagot sa number 21.

"How's your board exam?" Vren asked. "It's fucking not good." I irritated answered, he just laughed at me so I glared at him.

"Easy man." Natatawa niyang sambit sa akin. "Let's just eat. Para naman mahismasan ang utak mo." At the same time, he put his arm around my shoulder so I nodded to him because I was also hungry.

Hindi ko alam kung anong nangyari sa 'kin kanina sa loob, I have been reviewing for one week straight but then I was mentally blocked during the exam.

"What's happened to him?" I heard Rafael whisper to Vren. He came with Peter and Heldiago.

I sit quietly.

"Hey!" Peter greet me, I just smiled at him. "Why do you look so sad? You should celebrate since you finally survived in your board exam!" Natutuwa niyang sambit sa akin.

"Nothing." I just said.

When he noticed that I'am not in the mood, he kept quiet and talked to others. I didn't mean to rude but it just... I'm disappointed to myself.

We thought we only five but suddenly Erwan came. "Hey! It's good that you came! I thought you didn't came since you are busy with your works." Bungad ni Vren sa kanya, kinamayan pa niya ito.

"Well, I don't want to miss such an occasion." He said and he seated. He sit beside Rafael.

"Congrats, Man." He congratulated me.

I smiled at him. "Thanks, man."

Napansin kong masama ang tingin ni Rafael sa kanya, I wonder what's wrong with these two? I just know that they're used to be friends but I don't know what happened to them.

Two weeks later, Hindi parin lumalabas ang resulta ng medterm exam, and I slowly losing my hope to pass this medterm.

I'm here at my room. Watching a movie. It's our favorite movie when we were teenager. It's called "10 things I hate about you". It was a good movie.

I remember how Jenna cried so much in the scene where the girl read the book in front of her classmates where the boy was her classmates.

I teased her that time because she easily cry in that scene.

Nagulat nalang ako ng biglang pumasok sa aking kwarto si Heldiago. Kaya napatingin ako sa kanya base sa mukha niya ay nagagalak siya sa kanyang ibabalita sa akin.

"Kuya! Inilabas na ang resulta ng board exam nyo!" nagagalak niyang balita sa akin. Para bang nabingi ako sa kanyang inibalita.

Agad agad kong kinuha ang aking laptop par tingnan ang resulta. I was fucking nervous like hell.

I open the website where the results are there, when I saw it, I immediately click it. My hearts beats fast like so fucking fast.

Katabi ko si Heldiago, he also waiting to see my name in the passer. I scroll and scroll, shit there's no name of mine.

I lose my hope. I didn't continue scrolling because I already know what's the results. When Heldiago noticed it, he feel bad.

I know it I messed up.

I stood up and ready to go to the bed, napatingin naman sa akin si Heldiago, "Where are you going Kuya?" He asked.

"To rest." Maikli kong sagot sa kanya.

Humiga na ako sa aking kama at nag kumot. "Get out. I wanted to rest." I told him, but he insisted that he won't go out until he didn't see my name in the list.

So I let him be.

Minutes has passed, I'm shocked when Heldiago shouted like a crazy one. "What happened?" gulat kong tanong sa kanya.

"Kuya..." I don't know if he was crying or laughing. I felt nervous.

"What's wrong?" I asked him. He suddenly went to me and hug me. I was confused, "You passed the exam!" he told me.

I don't know what to say. I passed?

"I did it?" I unbelievable asked him. He nodded at me, "Yes! You did it! You're now a Doctor!" He proudly said.

Fuck! I did it!

I finally did it! I can't believe. This is so much and thank you! "I told you, you can do it and you just need to believe to yourself." He uttered and smile.

I nodded at him. "Yes, thank you for believe me and also to support me." I says.

"We should celebrate!" I'm the one who said. This time, I'm grateful and even though I'm not in the top, I'm still proud to myself because I did it.

"My treats." I added.

"Really? You said that, Wala nang bawian." He surprisedly said. I just laughed at him and nodded.

He immediately go out and called our friends. Napangiti nalang ako sa kanya.

Dumating na kami ni Heldiago sa lugar kung saan kami mag ce-celebrate. Instead inviting them to have a dinner with us, I invited them to go to the bar to have drink. We're old enough to drink.

We here in Peter bar's, since it was his vacation here in Batangas for a moment, he open again his bar. He just returned last week.

Nasilayan naming dalawa ang aming mga kaibigan, "Congrats man!" Vren congratulated me. I thanked him. Even my friends congratulated me.

Nang malapit na kami sa table ay nagulat nalang ako ng biglang sumigaw si Peter, "That's my friend!" He yelled, napatawa nalang ako. We haven't started yet he already drunk.

"Stop being oa, Peter." Inis na sambit ni Erwan sa kanya sabay bato nito ng unan kay Peter.

"Bastard!" Peter just yelled him. "These two moron, Hey" napailing nalang kami sa kanilang dalawa.

"Let's have fun!" we shouted and we cheers. We started to drink wildy. We only here since it was our friend bar.

"Anyway, where's Rafael?" Vren asked. Napatingin naman kami kay Erwan, "What?" He asked.

"Maybe you know where he is?"

"How I do know that? He's your friend not mine." Irita niyang sambit sa amin. Erwan was already drunk, "Chill dude!" Peter calmem him down.

"Tsk." He just uttered.

"I'm sorry, I'm late" it's Rafael. He finally arrived. "Buti naman dumating ka." He Irritable uttered, tiningnan naman siya ni Rafael ng masama.

"What's your problem huh?" He asked him but instead answered him, Erwan just drink a liquor.

Inis na umupo si Rafael.

Pinapanood lang namin silang dalawa na mag away, well we used it, they always arguing each other even it's just a little deal, they just making it big.

We continue to have fun and let them be. We just drink and drink until we passed out because of being drunk.

"Did you buy a flower for mom and dad?" I asked Heldiago and he nodded. "I even buy a candle." He uttered.

It's our parents death anniversary. It's still sad because they didn't even saw that I passed the medterm exam and I never saw them that they are proud at me.

If those bastard didn't killed them maybe my parents still alive and we still together. "Mom, dad, we here now. We brought you a flower." Nakangiting sambit ni Heldiago.

We sat down in the ground. Hinahaplos ko ang lapida ng aming magulang. It's been a year when we last visit them. Heldiago put the candle that he brought and he lights on.

"I passed the medterm exam, mom and dad." I told them. "I'm now your Doctor and ready to serve you but I'm too late." Fuck. I don't want to cry.

"We wish that you here beside us."

After a hour, we left because we still have something to do.

I directly went to the hospital where I am working right now while Heldiago went to his class since he still study law.

"Good morning Dr. Alvazarex." Bati ng mga nurse sa akin, I just smiled at them.

While I was walking, I heard a lot of nurse talking about me, I just chuckled and ignore it. If Jenna was here, maybe she will jealous.

"Oh? You here now Dr. Alvazarex." Erwan uttered when he saw me. "Yes, Dr. Heigo." I said.

"It's good that we're working together." He smiled.

The truth is, we never saw him smiling or laughing. His smile is always fake and force, you can see in his eyes.

"As well I'am."

He excused his self because something urgent happened.

I was walking when I bumped a teenager girl. "I'm sorry." She said and she immediately run. I don't know but I felt strange towards her.

But then, I just ignored it.
