Titan's POV~

I sat in the library, contentedly reading a book about Norse Mythology. I smiled to myself as I turned the page, humming an old folksong. My tail swayed gently, the large bludgeon-like end swung and gently thudded against the tile floor. I then lifted my eyes and looked out the large window,  down to the city below. It truly was amazing,  I had to admit to myself, this new world . . . it was something to behold. I slowly closed the book and placed it up on the shelf.

"Hello?"

I snorted and looked over my shoulder, and arched a brow. I found Goliath's daughter, Angela, walking up to me. My posture slackened a little bit, and I turned to face her, "Angela, right?" I asked softly.

"Yes." she gave me a small smile, her tail wavering back and forth, "I wanted to see how you were settling in." she said.

I nodded as I placed the book on the shelf and spoke again, "This world . . ." I then walked to the massive bay window and looked out across the city, "is not the world I once knew." I whispered under my breath, "All this metal, homes that touch the sky, automobiles . . ." I turned to her.

Angela spoke, "I once felt the same way. I was raised on the Island of Avalon with my rookery brothers and sisters."

I turned to the young female and spoke, "What were you doing on Avalon, Young One?"

Angela walked over and sat beside me, a look of expression and pain came across her face as she spoke, "Our orginal home was in Scotland. Well, my father's home was, I was still an egg. Anyway, Father was betrayed by the humans who resided in our castle home . . . most of our clan was destroyed. The captain of the guard betrayed us to the enemy."

I stared at her,  "Who then?  Who was responsible?"

"Demona . . . my biological mother," Angela says sadly, "She was the one who made the deal . . . she is now bent on destroying the human race . . ." she said.

I nodded with a deep snarl, "How is it you got to Avalon then?" I asked.

Angela sighed, "Thankfully, the princess rescued the eggs in the rookery and we were raised in Avalon." she said with a small smile.

I nodded slowly, "I understand." My lips slowly rose, revealing my fangs as my tail lashed back and forth before I looked over seeing Goliath walking up to us.

Angela stood up, "Father!" She ran over to the male gargoyle and jumped on him in a hug.

Goliath chuckled as he wrapped his wings around her, "Hello, Angela." He lifted his gaze, "Titan." he greeted, bowing his head.

I lowered my gaze with a soft snarl, before I walked past him and left the library. I began to wander the immense halls of the old castle, making the corridors and the stone familiar to my eyes. There was just so much to take in so suddenly. This new world, a new home . . . It was almost too much for me to bear. I stopped at one of the thin windows and peered out to the city below, I took in a deep breath. filling my lungs with the chilling night air as I thought to myself. Perhaps I should sneak back to my hollow by the river, this world was not meant for me anymore. I had served my purpose. Perhaps my destiny is to go back to sleep for another century. I then inclined my head and herd the other members of Goliath's clan romping about on the floor above and I could not help but smile to myself. Perhaps I am meant to wander the world again. It is nice to be surrounded by other Gargoyles, I will say that much.

I soon made my way to one of the castle's terraces and gazed out at the city that spread out as far as my eye could see. The night breeze tussled my short, pale hair and I inhaled all the new smells that washed into my nose.

"Nice, right?"

I blinked and looked over,  seeing one of the younger Gargoyles walking up beside me. I turned to him and spoke, "Brooklyn, correct?"

The pale-maned Gargoyle looked up and snorted, "Yeah. That's me." He then looked out to the city, "So. . ." He then looked somewhat puzzled.

"Something on your mind, Young Brooklyn?" I asked him as my wings wrapped around my person as a cloak.

"I'm curious," He said, "You're tail, how did you get it?" He turned to look at my bludgeon-like tail.

"Oh. This." I lifted my tail and looked at the stone at the end of it, "I got this when I went to war." I told the younger Gargoyle, "I needed a weapon I'd have with me always so . . . I got creative, I suppose." I noticed that the other members of the clan wandered over, Goliath included.

"What did you do?" Goliath asked.

I looked down at my tail, "I . . . I went to a blacksmith, and he stuck my tail in a vat of metled Iron, Obsidian, and granite." I said, my voice lowered, "It was . . . rough times."

Of course, they all stared at me with slackened jaws. And Lex was the first one to speak up, "Why would you do that to yourself?"

I turned and looked up at the moon as it drifted in and out from behind the clouds, "Because I had no choice."
