A couple days had gone by since the conversation with Fawnstripe and Mistyheart. The she-cat had tried her best to ignore them and the thoughts of Fogfrost, but as time went on they'd just kept coming back.

Nightclan had been moved to where Moonpaw had taken Acornleap and Fogfrost, and the queens had been right. The clearing had thankfully been surrounded in thick bushes, safely guarded away. The slope that lead down to said clearing had been quite the trek, but quickly some safer paths had been found.

Ashleaf worked on her den. It was a fallen tree that laid on the far left side of the camp, which beside it on the left was the entrance of the camp, where Echostorm and Moonpaw was currently working on. On the right of the fallen tree was where the Nursery was being made, which Fawnstripe and Nightstar was working on. Mistyheart laid inside, heavy with kits that were expecting to come any time.

Ashleaf glanced from her den, looking at Nightstar. His pelt was sleek and powerful, clear muscles rippled threw. Yet, the interest she had once felt for him was gone. Now a family like interest settled in her stomach, she only seemed to look up to him. She sighed, patching up a hole.

Every time her gaze caught Fogfrost's, a foggy feeling overwhelmed her. She didn't want to lose her position as medicine cat, something she so early achieved. Yet, suddenly the thoughts of having kits didn't seem so bad...

"Hello? Ashleaf, you there?" Ashleaf jumped in shock, nearly screeching. Her silver tabby pelt pricked as she turned, not able to control herself. Nightstar was looking at her with calm eyes, which helped her slightly ease herself. "I'm sorry...I was thinking about Mistyheart and her kits.." She tried to quickly hide what she truly thought, and it seemed to work.

"I know you worry about her being protected, but worry not! We have already made borders and already have found a good supply of prey. Hailclan's Medicine cat offered to swing by soon...speak of the devil!" The solid black cat's green gaze turned from Ashleaf to the puffy orange she-cat who had padded into camp. She held a huge herb sack in her white mouth, but her paws were clumsy on the soft soil. She would of nearly dropped the sack if Acornleap had not padded over to help. She quickly gave thanks, sounding embarrassed.

"Sorry..I'd meant to get here sooner but Rockpaw got a sprain in his shoulder. Flowerpool's taking care of it now, she's such a wonderful apprentice." The she-cat rambled on for a moment and Ashleaf couldn't help but let out a small sigh. "You must be tired, come inside." Ashleaf flashed Nightstar a look who simply nodded and padded off. She led the puffy cat inside, who looked around in awe. As she settled down she spoke up. "You'd only been here for awhile right? Well i'm Sunnypelt, medicine cat of Hailclan!" "Ashleaf, first of Nightclan." Ashleaf mewed as she went threw the herbs, listing them off in her mind.

"Oh that's a bit of everything, mainly for your ex-" Before Sunnypelt could finish, a loud screech rippled around them. Ashleaf jumped in shock but quickly recovered, grabbing some herbs and raced out. She felt Sunnypelt hot on her heels as she raced into the nursery.

Inside laid Mistyheart, who laid sprawled out in her nest, eyes wide and full of pain. "My kits!" She cried as Sunnypelt turned and left for a moment. Ashleaf settled down, trying to sooth the kitting queen. "It's alright, it's going to be a bit of time before they come, just try to relax." Her crystal blue gaze turned as the puffy orange cat padded in with a large stick and put it at Mistyheart's paws. "Bite on this when you feel pain. I asked Nightstar to get me some wet moss." Mistyheart glanced up and threw glazed eyes she nodded. Ashleaf stilled soothed Mistyheart, rubbing her tail on the queen's grey tabby pelt.

It seemed forever before the final kit was born. Ashleaf lapped it, licking hard until it started mewling. She then put the final, and smallest, kit at Mistyheart's belly. Sunnypelt was letting out a purr, and even Ashleaf couldn't help. "Two males, two females. Congrats. I'll go tell your clan." Sunnypelt turned and padded outside and Ashleaf watched her go for a moment before looking at the kits. "What will you name all of them?" She asked softly. Mistyheart was looking at them with pride, but looked up with great compassion. "Will you help me name them Ashleaf? I can name two and you can name two." Ashleaf felt shocked but she nodded.

Looking at the kits, she looked at the smallest. She was a pale grey tabby kit, who was mainly all white. "Perhaps the she-kit should be named Palekit?" As Mistyheart nodded, the medicine cat looked over the other three. She noticed a dark brown tom, with a huge white patch on his back. She thought for a moment before speaking. "How about naming him Owlkit?"

Mistyheart purred. "Wonderful names. Her gaze turned first to her calico daughter, who was letting out a mewl. The queen licked her, who seemed to settle down. "I'm going to name her Cherrykit, after my mother Cherry." Ashleaf nodded, noticing it went well for the mainly reddish calico she. Both of their gazes turned to the final tom, who was a grey tabby like his mother, the only thing that seemed to stand out was that he was much darker. "His name shall be Pebblekit."

Ashleaf nodded with a purr before getting up. "I'll let everyone know. You get some rest, but get Fawnstripe if you need something. I'll be back in a bit to check on you and the kits." The medicine cat padded out of the den, feeling a wave of warmth wash over her. She looked up at the sky.

Not even Leaf-fall's hints of snow could stop what she felt right now. She smiled, closing her eyes. Her clan was strong, her clan was powerful.

Her clan was Nightclan.
