Reo (POV)
Naruto along with Itsuki begins picking up the pace faster than everybody else.
Sakura- Naruto wait up! Itsuki slow down!
Kaito- (sigh) Oh well.
Chiyo- Why are those boys pushing themselves so hard to save Gaara? They're not even from the same village? What are they? What's their story?
Kakashi- Naruto is a Jinchūriki as well. He has the nine tailed fox sealed within him. It's not that he has any special feelings for the Hidden Sand, or it's people, but he and Gaara are both Jinchūriki.
Reo- Same can be said for Itsuki. You know he has the seventeen tails sealed inside of therefore making him a Jinchūriki like naruto and gaara.
Kakashi- Those boys knows how Gaara feels better than anyone in the Sand ever could. After all, those who are Jinchūriki have been treated the same way in every village.
Reo- For Itsuki, his path differs a bit but ends up the same way as every game Jinchūriki. He wasn't always alone. He had a loving family but everything was taken from him that night when the entirety of the Uchiha clan was murdered. He was alone and it only got worse when we discovered he was the holder of that ancient beast inside him.
Kakashi- That's why they feel this desperate need to save Gaara. It doesn't matter whether Gaara's from the Sand, the Leaf, or anywhere else.
Reo- He's a friend of theirs. Perhaps one of the only friends who's felt the same pain they've felt.
Kakashi- Naruto's Dream is to become the Hokage. As for Itsuki, he wants to be the best ninja in all of the world. So when they heard Gaara became Kazekage, it hit them pretty hard. Naruto was frustrated but at the same time deep in his heart, he was profoundly happy for Gaara.
Reo- Itsuki never really spoke about this but he keeps a journal. I just so happened to look at one night and he wrote that he was genuinely proud of Gaara and that l Itsuki only another reason to get stronger. I don't what it is about those two boys, but they just have some kind of gift where they can make friends with just about anybody they come in contact with. It's truly remarkable.
Chiyo-.........As for me, I've lived a long life. I've seen many things over the years. I thought I'd come to know the ways of the world. I knew that alliances with foreign lands were just for show and not to be trusted. I knew that the only way the Sand Village was to be protected is if I did it myself. It was my Jutsu that sealed the Shikaku in young Gaara, after consulting with his father, the Fourth Kazekage of course. I truly thought I was helping my village, but in fact I was jeopardizing it's very existence. And now I find out that my peoples' survival depends on one of those alliances with a foreign land I never trusted. I seem to have been wrong about many things. Perhaps everything. I am old and weary. I want nothing more than to just give up. Oh Kakashi, Reo, when I look at them and see their youth, their potential, I envy them so much.
Reo- Oh no no. Don't say that.
Kakashi- Your life has just begun. You're still young.
Chiyo- (chuckles) Perhaps you're right. Maybe there is some purpose for keeping an old bag of bones like me around.
Kyoko (POV)
The ritual is just about finished.
Pain (spectral)- It's almost finished.
All the eyes in Gedo statue number one opens up and the process stops.
Kyoko (spectral)- It is done. The one Tail has been extracted.
The corpse of the one tail falls to the ground and hits it with a solid thud.
Sasori- Finally.
Deidara- So in the end, it did take three full days and nights. Hmm.
Kisame (spectral)- It seems to get more exhausting every time.
Hidan (spectral)- (groans) My shoulders are stiff.
Pain (spectral)- Well done. Good work everyone.
We all relax and stretch a bit as the corpse of the one tail Jinchūriki grows ever colder and my brother and his team draw nearer.
