Beth's Pov

I woke up at 6:00, brushed my teeth ,took a bath and waited for breakfast to arrive . That's how my days have begun since they took me from my parents . They took me from my parents when I was six  .It has been a year since they took my name . To be honest, I  am  glad they changed my name . My name reminded me that my parents were happy to sell me to them , I'm still not clear  who  'they' actually  are . But 'they' were willing to pay a lot, because I'm immune to the flare   . And I don't blame my parents for wanting to sell me , after the sun scorched the world and the flare started spreading , a lot of people started losing jobs . My dad was one of them . We barely had food left to eat . It was hard to say no when 'they' offered money in exchange for me . That's  one less person to feed plus money , it was a win - win .

And that's how I ended up here . 'They' gave me a room here , and told me I'm not allowed to go out unless its for classes. I'm fine with that its a pretty cool room . Its small but has a bunch of novels and movies with a bathroom and a tv . Its obviously way better then my old room . Life here is  better then it was with my parents . No fights , no cranks and no financial problem . 

As I was saying , I was waiting for my breakfast, when I heard a knock on my door, I smile  knowing that it is Miss Angel . I like Miss Angel more then the other teachers and doctors . She is like my only friend here, not like i get to meet the others anyway . I know there are others , I cold hear them screaming and laughing all the time . And I have seen the big cafeteria . It has to feed hundreds . But I still get my food delivered to me  ,alone. 

Beth , may I come in ," ask Miss Angel

Yeah sure ," I reply  

She opens the door and comes in.

Good Morning ," she says

Morning ," I reply ,smiling .

She puts the tray of food on my table .

Go on eat up ," she says ,' you have to go to class .

I nod and sat on the chair while she sat on the other side and i started to eat .

Can i ask you a question ," I ask  

Sure love ," she says, smiling to me

When do i get to meet the other kids here ," I ask

Soon," she says

Uh...... how soon ? like next month soon ," I ask  

Soon , like next year soon ," she reply's

My eyes widen , What ? one year ? I have to be alone with no friends for another year?!  

Please calm down Beth, Its only one year," she says calmly 

Huh , guess I don't have a choice do I ? I ask 

She just nods , I eat in silence . 

After breakfast ,Miss Angel , who is a doctor , took some blood samples from me .

ok done ," she says , 'you can go to class now .

Okay bye," I say

Bye ," she reply's
