He breathed steadily, and opened his eyes, slow.
He woke to find himself in a place he didn't know.
But soon, in his mind, realization started to grow–
He had come to meet the girl in the mountain hut.

He turned to one side, and saw a sleepy head.
A young girl had fallen asleep by the bed.
Her dark hair with silvery flecks messily spread–
It was the girl from the mountain hut.

He slowly tried to sit up straight.
He had come uninvited to her house so late.
The timing was elusive and not too great–
To meet the girl from the mountain hut.

With a cough, he broke the silence finally.
She stirred a bit, and got up slowly.
He came face to face with her to see –
The girl from the mountain hut.

She opened her sleepy eyes wide,
The obvious feeling of shock she couldn't hide,
She left her place from the bed side–
Embarrassed, was the girl from the mountain hut.

Drowsy and an ache in the head,
He still had been sitting up on the bed,
He noticed the gently bandaged leg–
It was the doing of the girl from the mountain hut.

"Ah!" called out the girl, soft yet clear,
"You must be quite tired now, Sir.
"All your words, tomorrow I shall hear.
Good night," said the flustered girl from the mountain hut.

The girl slept on the chair in the next room.
He too, succumbed to his sleepy gloom.
Although there was heavy rain outside and the thunder boomed–
It was quiet with the girl from the mountain hut.
