2 days later, Luz was ready to go check on Eda and King. She didn't know how they would react to the news about Hunter but maybe they'll offer some condolences. On her way there, she was stopped by Odalia. Luz let out an annoyed sigh, she really didn't want to have to deal with this bitch today.

"What do you want now? I am REALLY not in the mood to kick your ass right now." Luz said, pulling out her sword.

"I'm here to bring you to the Emperor for punishment!" Odalia said, "Come quietly or I will use force!"

"How about NO? N to the O. Now leave before I call Amethyst and trust me, she is still pissed about being thrown in a cage!" Luz shouted as her purple dragon palisman poked her head from Luz's hoodie.

"Fine, then you leave me no choice!" Odalia said, "As the right had to Emperor Belos, I hearby place you under arres-"

Odalia was cut off when Luz threw her sword passed Odalia's face, missing by just millimeters.

The Monado stabbed into the tree behind her, splitting it clean in half and both sides falling to the ground as Luz called the sword back to her hand.

"Need it repeat myself?" Luz asked as she glared.

"I'm not scared of your little toy."

"You didn't say that last time." Luz said, already activating light mode of the Monado and drawing the blade, "If I have to fight you, then so be it!"

'All according to plan.' Odalia thought with a smirk under her mask.

Luz charged at Odalia with a swing prepared. The witch created a shield and blocked the attack but was sent back as Luz continued after her! Luz spun the sword and changed to the fire glyph, unleashing a wave of fire at Odalia.

"You wanted to fight but you're playing the defense a lot!" Luz shouted as Odalia flew into the air from the flames.

"I'm being rational! Can't have a repeat of our last encounters!" Odalia said before firing a chest beam from her armor.

Luz put the sword up, blocking the strike.

"Amethyst!" Luz said to her palisman. "Smokescreen!"

"Rah!" Amethyst roared before she opened her mouth and produced purple smoke!

Luz used this distraction to run at Odalia and slam the ground in front of her, trapping her in ice spikes.

"Aaaah!" Odalia said, feeling the cold through her armor.

"Still think you can bring me in?!" Luz asked, pointing the training wand in her face and drawing a spell circle.

Odalia chuckled.

"Well, I don't need to, you've wasted enough time." Odalia said, "Now you can either defeat me... or you can save Eda."

Luz put the wand down.

"What do you mean?" Luz asked.

"Well, you only a about a minute before the bomb placed blows up." Odalia said with a smile, "Better hurry."

Luz's eyes went wide and she took off, using the Monado to give her light speed. The Owl House was in her vision.

"EDA!" Luz screamed.

She just had time to grab the doorknob, before an explosion launched her back and burned her arm. Luz's vision was fuzzy and she heard ringing in her ears. Sparks and embers floated in the sky as the smell of smoke filled her nose.

"Ugh! Ugh." Luz groaned, ignoring the pain she felt and pushing herself to stand. "E-Eda! King! Hooty!"

With the little strength she had, Luz swung the Monado to create a pathway of ice. Just enough so she could rush/stumble into the owl house.

'They're okay! They have to be okay!' Luz thought as Amethyst turned into her staff, letting Luz use her as a cane.

She walked into what used to be the kitchen, where she found a heavily charred body.

"Eda." Luz said, falling to her knees next to Eda's corpse.

Luz began crying as she looked at the dead body. She was almost unrecognizable, the only thing recognizable was the jewel on her chest and the staff still held in her hand. King was no better as his body was already falling apart.

"Eda... King... no." Luz said, tears filling her eyes.

"Luz!" Two voices called out.

"We heard an- oh no." Boscha said, seeing the destruction.

Amity and Boscha ran over to Luz and quickly hugged her.

"T-T-They...." Luz said before crying harder, reaching out and grabbing Owlbert from Eda.

He was the only one to survive, even with just a few scorch marks.

"Don't worry Luz, we'll... we'll find a way to fix this." Boscha said.

The two hugged Luz, before helping her up. Things were about to change, and it was going to be hard.
