Chapter No.76. Complexity.

It was a normal Saturday, and the Steris family was at home doing their usual things. James and Sylvia were in their work room creating stunning diamonds. Baby Jack was teaching Sparky how to count. Janet was in the kitchen creating a cake, while Robert was trying to enhance the pool as per his wife's wishes. He was increasing its width and raising the body slide height, making it more exciting.

Robert sensed it first, an intruder who had wondered onto their property. He could see that it was a woman dressed in orange plastic pants and shirt, clothing that didn't fit her all that well, and she was barefooted.

He came around the pool chamber and approached her from behind. She turned and stared at him. "Are you lost?" He asked.

She continued to stare at him but didn't reply.

"You're Amy Collins," he said. "You look as if you just escaped from a prison."

Surprisingly, she didn't seem all that surprised. "Yes, I was in a confinement cell with no windows and just a single lamp."

"How did you escape?"

"I don't really know," she said, looking down before continuing to stare at him. "I just thought about being free and I was."

"Why did you come here?"

"I'm not sure. I just sensed it was right."

Janet appeared and she looked at the woman for several minutes before she approached and hugged her. Tears ran down the faces of both women.

Janet turned to Robert. "This is Amy, my sister."

Robert briefly smiled. "Yes, I realize that. Your maiden-name was Collins. Why was she in prison?"

"She was arrested for bank robbery. I haven't been able to contact her because they said she was too belligerent to be with the other prisoners or have any contact with family or visitors."

"I sense that she has our powers," Robert said.

Janet looked at her sister and then back at her husband. "I think we have a problem."

"I agree. Let's get her some normal clothing and feed her properly."

They escorted her to the kitchen.

"I think I'll clean her up before I dress her," Janet said before she ushered Amy to a bathroom.

Later, when the Steris family joined for dinner, Janet introduced the new addition. "This is Amy, my sister. She was in prison for bank robbery, but she escaped and came to us. More importantly she has our powers."

"That's going to cause several problems." James said.

"I think I might be able to resolve this," Robert said. "First of all, we can make up a death certificate for her and then give her a new identity as my sister."

"That's the easy part," James said. "The hard part is getting the justice system to go along with it."

Robert smiled. "I know two guys who can handle that, but that can wait until Monday." He turned to Amy. "We are a family of superheroes tasked with the mission of preventing the demise of the human species."

"Tasked by whom?" Amy asked.

"God, and it's the reason we can't use our powers for personal gain above what's necessary for our personal needs. We need your promise that you won't do anything that isn't consistent with our mission. It's the only means we have to coexist with the normal human population. We will train you to use your powers to help us do what we do."

"I have nowhere else to go," Amy said. "And I sure as hell don't want to be left to rot in a confinement cell."

"Good. We welcome you into our little band of heroes."

"It's beginning to look like we're outnumbered," James said to his father.

Robert sighed. "Yeah, that's for sure."

The women laughed.

Janet saw to it that her sister fitted in with the Steris family well. Sylvia used her computer hacking skills to get a death certificate filed for Amy Collins and a birth certificate registered for Amy Steris.

It was up to Robert to get the legal system to go along with it. That Monday, he appeared in Mark and Joe's office much to their surprise.

"I have a favor to ask," Robert said. "My wife's sister just escaped from the Federal prison at Hobart. It turns out that she has our powers but was unaware of it."

"Why was she incarcerated?" Mark asked.

"She's a bank robber. What we've done is create a death certificate for Amy Collins and create a birth certificate for Amy Steris, basically she'll be my sister. I realize we're breaking all sorts of laws to do this, but I think it's necessary."

"Normally, we would get into big trouble helping someone do that, but there's a moratorium concerning you and your family."

"Really?"

"You should realize by now that we, along with Jason, the NASA administrator, are considered your handlers. The powers to-be are convinced that this is the only way they can deal with you. Basically, we are assigned the job of dealing with your, shall we say, unique powers. In other words, they consider you an asset that can be managed."

"I understand, and we don't have a problem with that. We are always available to help you solve crimes and complete missions for NASA."

"Don't worry. We'll take care of your family situation," Mark said.

"We really appreciate that."

Robert returned home and his family gathered around. "They'll take care of it."

"That's good news," Janet said. "I never imagined that I would be able to be with my sister."

"Well, she's one of us now," Robert said. "It's up to you to orient her to our ways."

Janet nodded her approval.

Janet decided to start with flying. She showed her sister how she could change her clothing by just thinking about it. Once her sister managed that, Janet showed her how to fly. They flew around the forest area around the Steris home.

"Okay, now we're going to teleport to the moon."

Amy's face twisted with confusion. "Really?"

"Yeah. We don't need to breath, and we use mental telepathy to converse."

"How do I know where to teleport?"

"Just see it in my mind," Janet said.

In the blink of an eye, they were standing in Daedalus, a large crater on the opposite side of the Moon.

Amy looked all around before she smiled. "I never dreamed that I would go to the Moon."

"This is nothing," Janet said. "We've been all over the solar system and to a habitable moon orbiting a gas giant in a distant solar system. We've have also gone to positions above and below our galay."

"Wow! I don't understand how we can exist in a vacuum where the temperature is this far below zero."

"I don't really know how we do it either, but we are essentially exempt from the laws of physics."

Amy pointed at mounds near the center of the crater. "Why are they in this crater. I thought that a crater is caused by an asteroid collision. Wouldn't that flatten everything?"

Janet shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe it's because this crater happened when the Moon was still geologically active."

Amy smiled. "You always were the smart one."

"Not really. I'm just fortunate to have a smart family."

They returned home and Janet introduced her to the pool and her body slide. She and her sister made their clothing vanish before climbing the ladder to the top of the slide and then jumping into the slide's entrance to slide all the way to the pool, plunging deep down into the water before rising to the surface. After enjoying it thoroughly, they relaxed in lounge chairs near the pool.

"Your husband was in a coma for ten years. What did you do for sex?"

Janet offered a subtle grin before sighing. "I didn't."

"You're kidding me, right?"

Janet sighed. "I'm not kidding you."

"God, I could use a good banging. I was in that damn Hell hole for five years with only horny cunts to relieve myself."

Janet stared at her for a moment before replying. "Actually, there's no reason you have to suffer. My husband could serve your needs."

Amy squinted at her with her mouth wide open. "Say what?"

"I'm sure he'd be accommodating in this situation."

"You mean that you're willing to share your husband?"

"Sure. We're family here and our relationships in our previous lives are irrelevant. James and Sylvia are technically brother and sister, and they had a child together. Normal customs no longer apply in our case."

"I'm having trouble believing this," Amy said. "Why would you do this. Are you two not having sex?"

"Yes, we are," Janet said. "It's one of our favorite things to do."

"If that's the case, why would you be so willing to share him?"

"I'm not a possessive type, and besides, you're my sister."

"Are you sure he would go along with servicing both of us?"

Janet smiled. "He could service an entire room full of women and think nothing of it."

Amy's eyes ballooned for a second before she squinted. "Really?"

"Yes."

"I think I'm going to like being part of your family," Amy said looking serious.

Janet laughed.

That evening when Janet and Robert had retired to the bedroom for the night, Janet paused before they completed a goodnight kiss. "I have a confession."

Robert gave her a subtle grin. "Now what?"

"I told My sister that you would service her. I apologize for not asking you first."

"I'm surprised that you are willing to do that."

"I guess I was overwhelmed by the fact that I was able to unite with her."

"I suppose the way to do this is for me to clone and do it."

Janet smiled. "Yes, I forgot that!"

"No matter what, you and I are okay!"

They kissed to reinforce the statement!
