A/N: Ahhhhhhh! The first chapter is finally up! I'm super excited to see where this book is going, and I'm more excited and eager to add in some cool stuff in to make this book even more interesting! I know the chapter is labeled as origins for Midoriya, I decided to let him tell of his beginning and to let him tell how the world fell to its knees! If you have any ideas of how you would make the story go, feel free to share in the comments!

Also, please tell me what you think about the first chapter! It'll help me determine what I can and should do next!

Thanks for reading and as Crusty Lips says in this book: Go Beyond! PLUS ULTRA BUT IN A NICER AND AWESOMER WAY THAN HANDYMAN!!!

(I need to sleep, lol, it's 2:30 am..... XD)

First Person POV

My name is Izuku Midoriya. I'm currently 16-years old and I'm quirkless, unlike the other unfortunate people who are forced to participate in this stupid, cruel game. I was born quirkless despite my mother and father having quirks, neither them or myself knew how I could be quirkless when everyone before me had a quirk, useful or not.

I hate it.

My mother can only feel sorry for me since she and I both knew that unless I showed "villainous potential" to the League of Villains, then I would be forced to participate in the heartless game Tomura Shigaraki created, The Hero Games.

Twenty-four people are chosen randomly country-wide. Meaning, there could possibly be three people chosen from one prefecture, in which there are only six, while the rest are spread out. The outermost parts of Japan have been destroyed and became uninhabitable due to Shigaraki restricting the people, and from dangerous villains, claimed to lurk there and guard the borders of the main prefectures to prevent anyone from escaping.

I was born in, and still currently live in, Shizuoka Prefecture. Besides my prefecture, the others are Tokyo, Saitama, Kyoto, Kanagawa, and Ibaraki. The rest of the country that wasn't part of the said six, have been reduced to rubble, ashes, and bodies littering the streets like a fucking horror movie.

To make it "fair" in that damn Crusty Lips' mind, children at and under the age of twelve-years can't participate, and if their name is drawn while they're at or under this limit, then another name is drawn. Crusty Lips and his fucking peasants are too damn lazy to not add the poor children, having each person's name entered into drawing the moment they are born.

Luckily, my name hadn't been drawn at all and I had an extra four years up to now to live somewhat of a decent start at life. My mother is the same. She's been able to raise me and we're so glad that nothing has happened yet, though whether I believe it or not, she claims that my father had been selected before I was born. As you could probably tell, he didn't make it. But, honestly, if this world and Shigaraki want us to play "survival of the fittest," then for my mother, I'm willing to play dirty, even though I would prefer not to.

Home life isn't as easy either. Since we're under Shigaraki's foot and we're considered "potential threats" to him and his followers, they treat us like shit.

Good food is very rare to receive, and it's almost never not touched unless someone steals it. All they feed us is rice and raw fish carcasses that they've discarded. Sure, it's better than nothing, but eating the fish carcasses put you at risk for getting parasites and other nasty stuff no one wants to get. And the villain who cuts them must be specifically assigned and gifted since there's almost no meat on the skeleton, just the fins, bones, and head. And before you start saying that there is some meat in the head or whatever, guess what? They remove most of the meat, only leaving behind little bits of it.

Water is decent since we live in Japan and the weather offers us some sympathy and relief with rain, and don't judge. When Shigaraki doesn't give us water, we have to drink rain water to keep ourselves somewhat alive, if we aren't already half dead.

However, the villains who are free to steal belongings, bully innocent people, and basically do anything they please, is the scariest part of all at home, except for the Reaping. Anyway, the villains don't have restraints except to not kill anyone, but they sure as hell can beat the living shit out of someone for their own pleasure. That's happened to me multiple times.

Like my original counterpart, I want to help the people as much as I can, despite the things we're put through. I want to be their light in this dark place they're forced to inhabit. I want to smile no matter the threat or danger. And I want to defeat Shigaraki and end his reign. Unfortunately, the villains who see me doing this don't think too fondly of me. I've been beaten to a pulp more times than I could count, because I've stepped in their way or helped the people they beat down. I can't help it. It's part of the hero in me.

Speaking of heroes, Shigaraki had killed or imprisoned most of them, if not all of them. All the pro heroes who once protected us, were either killed by him and his villains or imprisoned and treated like rats: locking them up in cages and feeding them whenever they felt like feeding them.

And All Might. He was our brightest light and he managed to defeat All For One once and for all. However, our relief and triumph was short-lived, as Shigaraki initiated a battle with him. In the end, we saw the greatest hero in the world lose to the villain. As this was on live television, we could see that All Might had been reduced to dust like the rest of Shigaraki's victims, and the whole world immediately turned on its back and Shigaraki took advantage of it. It would only take a year and a half for Shigaraki to completely take control of Japan, with many pro heroes either becoming fearful to fight back or disappearing.

Then, the real shit begins. Each year, the villains randomly draw the twenty-four names, across television in which all the people are gathered (trust me, there are less people living in Japan than you think, it's not as populated as before). This is called the Reaping, and everyone fears it the most. The most unsettling part for me each year though, is not the fact that I could be drawn, or my mother, or that Shigaraki could just one day decide to kill us all without a second thought or opinion, but how he mocks UA High School's old motto:

"Go Beyond, heroes. Plus Ultra."
