"Ladies and gentleman, welcome! I return to you the Ring of Fire!" Sergei announced. On cue, the massive hoop ring was set ablaze. The crowd oohed and awed. One mother let her son sit on her lap as she whispered, "Sit tight Liam, stay close to me." Nodding his head, Liam replied, "Okay Mommy."

"You are in for a treat tonight folks! Watch as the mighty beast leaps through the flames!" Sergei declared. He waved his arm towards a pedestal near the fire. Knowing this was his cue, Norman reluctantly climbed up onto the pedestal. Everyone gasped when they saw him. They never saw anything like him. Smiling, Sergei ordered, "Now leap beast!"

"See, this is the problem. Big huge electric fence," Snowball declared. The small group had arrived. Beyond the electric fence was the circus. There appeared to be something big going on. Curious, Gidget touched the fence and got blown backwards. Max went to go check on her. Turning to Tiberius, Snowball gestured towards the fence as he asked, "What's your plan?"

The crack of a whip could be heard inside the big top. The four flinched when they heard it. There was another crack of the whip, followed by a squeak of terror. Tiberius was horrified when he recognized Norman's voice. "Guys stand back!" he shouted, his eyes already glowing blue. Storm clouds rolled into the area, darkening the evening sky even more.

"I said leap! Jump through the fire!" Sergei yelled angrily. He kept trying to whip Norman but thankfully missed each time. That didn't mean the young griffin cub wasn't scared. He was frightened for his life, running to avoid the evil man in black. Gathered around at the cage bars, the Circus Gang could only watch in horror. "We have to do something! He'll be killed!" Chloe yowled. Pacing frantically, Rooster exclaimed, "I know I know! I'm thinking!"

Thunder roared outside, spooking everyone. It sounded like something exploded as well. "Great, a transformer blew," Buddy muttered. He was swiftly corrected though when something large burst into the big top with a thunderous roar. Pausing in his tracks when he heard the sound, Norman tilted his head to the side in confusion as he mumbled, "Daddy?"

"Guys! We found Norman's dad!" Max and Snowball cried at the same time, trying hard to be heard over the screams of the frightened people. Gidget standing beside him, Tiberius growled, "Where's my son?!" The Circus Gang frantically started pointing and shouting, "Over there! Hurry! Sergei is after him!" Looking up at the other animals, Gidget asked, "What's a Sergei?"

"Dad! I'm over here!" Norman cried, spotting his father through the stampede of humans. He jumped up and down, ecstatic. He was so happy about seeing his dad he didn't even hear the whip crack. The next thing the cub knew, there was a sharp pain in the back of his head. Cackling, Sergei sneered, "Finally got you little rat!"

Hearing the crack of the whip again, Tiberius looked to where the sound had come from. Terror awaited him when he saw Norman laying motionless on the ground. People ran around screaming while a man in black relished in his victory, rolling up his whip as he laughed. But Tiberius simply stared at Norman, willing him to get up. The cub would not move though. Following his gaze, Gidget gasped and stammered, "Oh my goodness."

"Wolves, get them out!" Sergei ordered, giving off a sharp whistle. Four big black wolves leaped out from their hiding places. Their teeth flashed in the show lights as they charged at the four unwanted newcomers. "Okay time to go!" Max yelped, pushing Gidget and a devastated Tiberius towards their exit. Bolting past them, Snowball screamed at the top of his lungs, "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"
