"Sky, right?" I whipped my head around to see a small girl. Her hair was a shade of red, however, more so on the orange side and gorgeously curled. Her features were small and she had a petite build.

I raised my eyebrows at her, "That is correct," I had actually managed to escape Jameson's protective hold—he needs to settle; I'm not going to get drugged and kidnapped in a school full of people.

"What can I do for you?" I asked next and then jumped when the girl suddenly squealed. I frowned at her but she dismissed it, or was oblivious, and linked arms with me, guiding me over to a nearby bench, at which she plonked herself down on it. I sat down, a little more gracefully, if not hesitantly, than she had, and turned my body to face her.

"I was there in the hall," She gushed and I nodded slowly, "When you made a fool out of Eden Howell?" Ohh. "It was completely insane, no one has ever had the courage to do that. Well done!"

"I don't usually promote violence, but good job! You impressed the whole school—well, those of us who were watching." She continued, frowning at the mistake that she made.

I smiled at the compliment, she was cute, maybe she won't turn out to be as ditsy as she looks if I get to know her. "What's your name?" The girls face lit up and her hazel eyes held an excited glow.

"Avery Holland, nice to meet you." She stuck her hand out and I shook it, laughing. Avery smiled but then she looked around me, she froze.

I frowned, looking around, "What is it?" Maybe I should've stayed with Jameson after all.

"Zack Espan!" She squealed and I turned to face her. Okay, so maybe I have just met a crazy person.

"Zack who?"

"Shh!" Avery came closer to me and started taking in a hushed tone, "I'm not surprised that you don't know, because you have only just got here, but Zack Espan is the school's hottie," She told me. Aw, I was hoping to claim that place in the school's royalty.

"However," Of course. "He is also the school's player." I finally found the boy in question and we locked eyes at the same time. Zack smirked and combed his hair out of his face with his fingers. I was completely smitten.

Then he put his arm over some girl's shoulder. Well, he's a straight up fuckboy.

"Oh and that," Avery brought me back to my senses and pointed to the girl, "Is his latest accessory. Only girls like her get involved with him because they are the only ones who don't mind the impending shame and doom of the cheating part of the relationship." Avery rolled her eyes and I nodded.

I took one last glance at Zack but then was distracted as I  spotted someone who I maybe wanted a little more time away from.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go, Jameson has been breathing down my neck the whole week and I just need a few more minutes." Avery laughed and smiled.

She pulled me in for a hug, "If you're staying out long, leave it until eight to call him, and then get back at ten," She whispered in my ear. Pulling away she added, "Worrying the boy gets you benefits." She winked, earning a scoff from me and a slap on her arm.

Avery laughed and walked over to who appeared to be her guardian. I looked over to see Jameson looking in all directions for me. I chuckled and made a run for it across the field.

I entered a small, abandoned-looking building that I had spotted first and pulled open the only entrance: a fire exit. Now, I know what you're thinking, how does one enter through an exit? I have no idea, but I managed it, as proven as I walked through the door and into a corridor. I walked down it, checking the time on my phone—it was currently seven in the evening.

Since I had gotten here, I have desperately wanted to explore the school; exploring is my favourite activity, but Jameson had been dead set on keeping me in the safe, overcrowded places. However, tonight, I was going to do things my own way for the first time since I've been here.

I walked down the eerily silent corridor, the only noise being my black, lace up, ankle boots softly tapping against the concrete floor. I turned the corner and heard someone's presence in front of me. I found myself gulping, maybe I shouldn't do things my own way.

Despite the off sense I was receiving, I decided to keep moving forward, which could be the biggest mistake I've ever made.

All of a sudden, my body flew through the air and my back hit something hard, knocking all the wind out of me. I fell to the floor and started to choke. The tapping of heels echoed throughout the long corridor as the person approached me.

A finger was placed under my chin and lifted my face up to meet–

"Eden?" My voice cracked and I began to choke again. She kicked my stomach and I whimpered,

"So weak." She retorted and I pulled a face of disgust. She only stared back, and I uncomfortably got up and leaned against the wall for support. When she looked away, I took the chance. I fumbled with my phone, if there's one thing I learnt from this place, it was that the security was strong. There were CCTV cameras hounding the academy, but there didn't seem to be any in this corridor—convenient. By opening up the camera on my phone and starting to record, I made my own security camera.

"What are you doing, Eden?" I asked her and she turned around to face me, clasping her hands together in front of me with a wicked smile on her face. Her leg swung out but I, somehow, dodged her kick, leading her foot into the wall. Eden screeched but didn't throw any punches at me.

"I'm working." She told me and I frowned.

"I wouldn't expect you to understand, it's all very confusing. Though, I thought maybe I could get along with my best friends 'weakling'." I cringed at the nickname given to all special ones.

I shook my head at her, "What do you want from me? And don't tell me it's some sort of peace gathering because I see nothing peaceful in your forte." I commented snidely, earning a slap in the face from Eden. I held the wounded area as I felt it heat up.

"What the–"

"So you and Jameson, huh? You're a girl and he's a boy, anything could happen." She shrugged her shoulders innocently. I clenched my jaw, shaking my head furiously.

"It's not like that, we know we're not supposed—or even allowed—to go into that–stuff." I spat. 'love' was the word that I couldn't find. But there was no love between Jameson and I. Just him constantly worrying where I am; he might as well chain me to him.

"Are you sure? So the feeling is just friendly? Is it a mutual feeling?"

"The feeling isn't even friendly; how can it be mutual, Eden? He's my guardian, it's a job." Eden smirked and I braced myself for an annoying comment.

"If you have a crush–"

"I don't love him!" I screeched. Eden laughed and came deadly close to me. I pressed my injured back against the wall. But there was no escaping her.

"Thank you." She whispered into my ear and I frowned, she then grabbed my shoulder and pushed me to the floor. I hit the floor with a thud and yelped when I landed badly on my wrist. Eden laughed as she walked away from me, the sound of cackling and the tapping of her shoes, the only noise that echoed down the corridor.

I pushed myself up with my left arm, having obviously injured my right wrist. I cringed as my wrist throbbed, I brought it close to my chest and debated upon standing up. Deciding it would put too much strain on my wrist, I instead settled on sitting down. At least it will give me time to ensure that Eden leaves.

After a few minutes had passed, I decided to get up—if Eden was waiting for me, what worse could she possibly do to me?

Something vibrated on the floor and I saw it to be my phone. I quickly picked it up, remembering that I was filming and had probably dropped it from the moment Eden pushed me to the floor. I stopped the recording and slid my phone into my back pocket.

I walked down the tranquil corridor, holding my breath for Eden to jump out on me. But she didn't, and I soon found my way out of the long hall. I reached the fire exit door, that I was actually exiting through this time, and started a fight with it—it wouldn't open. Since my right wrist was out of action, the task only became more challenging.

I finally got the door open, my eyes darting around the field as I held my breath, praying that Eden wouldn't jump out from the shadows and taunt me again. When I was half sure that my death wouldn't be presented to me on an Eden sized platter, I made a run for the building.

I think this is the worst ending to a chapter

Hahaha oh well #cliffhanger

So damn, now you know Eden's true colours: deathly black, angrily red, and irrelevant white.

I need to stop laughing at my jokes hahaha

Okay the end

See ya

Next update: Thursday, maybe Friday, or maybe the weekend

(Depends how long I can keep hanging on this cliff hahahahaha)

I need restraint.
