Moonlight is a collection of short stories and as requested I have read The Void. 

The story is written through Captains logs, as you progress through the story you read his thoughts his feelings , motives and dreams. You finish the story through his memories, not as he is presently, but a memory.

This is what captures the strength of the story in my opinion. The way the story is told presently and yet through the memory of the protagonist truely captures the disparity of the situation. His need to complete his goal. Then the way it includes seemingly makes it full circle. The detail and skill up into this piece makes it flow in a way that almost rewards the reader for understanding everything that happens. 

The Void on its own is a story all on its own. As short pieces go, people don't always give the reader a clear ending, or plot development where- despite the ending- make the reader feel as though the ending was earned. Often in short stories, I find that people write things or say things that could be out of character or out of situation conventions, so when a short story does something where the plot and the development help the character grow, learn and enhance themselves it can be really enjoying to read. 

This is the second chapter of the series, the other two stories being 'The Girl from Mirakeen' and 'Moonlight'  which themselves are great reads with their own stories to tell. So don't just read this story, give the series a go and enjoy it. They are really creative outtakes on potentials and fantasies, written well in a way that flows.

Well done! It was really enjoyable to read to keep it up, I look forward to more!
