First off I want to talk about the cover of the book. I like the blue and black colors together. I think it makes the main character stand out even more on the cover and that brings focus to him and the wolf in the center of the cover.

I also didn't see any grammar errors in the book as well that I could find and the pacing is fine.

But the beef of the review that I want to talk about is the characters and the tropes that I noticed in the story as well. Now, the tropes that I seem to notice a lot especially in vampire and werewolf books on here just to name a couple are the nice/naive girl trope and the abusive family trope. These two combined with what I am assuming with the main male counterpart who will probably be a bad boy with a sad backstory who probably comes in later in the story are all tropes I see way too much in YA vampire and werewolf books here on Wattpad.

Now these tropes aren't really a bad thing especially if they're done well but it seems like these tropes are used quite a bit to help the plot or characters in some way and a means especially for the main female character  to get away from her abusive family and to start a new life. Especially since the main female character Bella is starting to find out about things that she didn't know about and is starting at a new school that obviously has some stuff going on there which the other characters like the teachers and other students made it easy to figure out just by the way they talk and act around her and the people around them. On top of this, you have the abusive family that Bella has had to live with for most of her life, which seem to beat her for no reason other than the fact that they're terrible people and hate the fact that Bella is a smart and kind person and end up calling her terrible things while beating her. Which I can understand why she wants to get away from this terrible situation and from her terrible family especially her father who in a flashback was always a terrible person since she was young and was even abusive to her late mother before he got remarried and had a stepson who just like his mom and stepdad is terrible.

Now, speaking of the family, we don't really get anything hints or points to them being magic users other than them just telling Bella that they are and them throwing her across the room like out of out where and then just don't really go onto say anything else about it whatsoever like the readers are supposed to accept it and move on onto the next thing, which I wish the book went into more detail about it and why they kept it a secret from Bella up until now especially since she was living with them for a number of years and clearly abusing her to no end. Like there's literally no warning or anything that showed that they were magic users or that they belonged to a group of them to begin with which I wished the book did do since that way, it would have made a bit more sense and it wouldn't have felt awkward among the fact that they were moving to another town after the dad gets a job in a town that obviously has werewolves and possibly demons and who knows what else in it.

Okay, now onto Bella the main female character herself. As much I feel bad for her, I find it hard to believe that her father and stepmom and stepbrother being magic users didn't faze her one bit. I know that she hasn't had time to process it but honestly if I was in her shoes, I would have freaked out or didn't believe them at first unless they used magic or took the time to process it at the very least.

Plus, there were brief moments where she acts naive when it comes to her family being abusive at times, like when they get ready to beat her and she looks at them like for a moment, like she doesn't know what they're going to do next. Which stuck me as odd, cause she knows what's happening to her and clearly wants help but chooses to stick through it cause they're the only family she's ever known I guess.

Overall, it's a decent story and I would recommend it to anyone who loves reading books like it.

Thanks for letting me review your book.
