After waking everyone up, Alfred started on the cleaning. Dick watched from the table as the others practically threw their breakfast down their throats. "Why doesn't he eat with us?" Dick asked, staring at the elderly butler dust. "Because Alfred has jobs to do Dickie. He'll have some breakfast once we're done." Tim replied.

Dick still looked confused. "But isn't that unfair?"

"No it's not Master Dick. Now eat up," Alfred said happily, picking up the empty plates.

"I don't eat in the mornings, sorry to waste food," Dick informed him. He hadn't even touched his knife and fork. "Why?" Jason asked. How could someone not eat in the mornings? Especially when it was Alfred's breakfast they were missing. "It's always been that way," he answered simply. "Well, you'll have a big lunch then. Master Bruce, you should ask him about that 'thing' now." Alfred stated. "What 'thing'?" Dick asked as his brothers held back knowing smiles.

"We were wondering if you'd like to become a hero, like us," Bruce announced. Dick glanced to Tim who was grinning. "Is this what you meant?" he asked him. The older nodded giddily. "I'd love to, but."

"But what?"

"It's just, what if I'm not hero worthy? I'm not like you guys," he replied.

"I'm sure you'll be great. At least try. By all odds I shouldn't be a hero," Jason assured him with a smile. "I guess I can try. I have some training from...him. Maybe I can put it to good use," he muttered. "Great! We're gonna train you whilst Bruce and Alfred are out." Tim informed him.

"T-train?" Dick asked, wide-eyed.

"Not like how he did it," Damian explained. The younger breathed a sigh of relief.

"Go get changed, boys. We'll be back in an hour or so," Bruce ordered. They nodded and ran upstairs. "Do you think he'll be alright?" Bruce asked Alfred worriedly.

"I'm sure the boys will look after him better than you think. We must go now so we don't miss your appointment." Alfred proceeded to hurry him along and out the door, leaving the boys to themselves.

Once they got dressed, they led Dick down to the Batcave training room. He looked around silently, making them worry. "So who wants to start him off?" Tim asked his brothers.

"I'll do it," Jason answered confidently.

"Okay, just go easy on him." He nodded and walked up to Dick.

"Ready buddy?"

"As ready as I'll ever be," the boy replied rather nervously. He hadn't done any training since he was with Slade and that was far from enjoyable. They walked to a circle on the floor, nothing too high-tech. "Okay, we're going to try to fight one another. If you want to stop tell me. I'm not going to try to hurt you but if I do, again tell me. Stay in the circle. What else? Oh and it's best outta three, Demon Spawn you count." Jason announced. Damian scowled at the title he didn't agree to. "Countdown to one?" Dick nodded and got into a fighting stance.

"3-2-1, go!" Tim exclaimed.

Dick stood his ground as Jason ran towards him. As soon as Jason was about to hit him he grabbed his fist and flung him over his head. He hit the ground hard but laughed it off. "Grayson wins the first round," Damian said with a small laugh. Dick helped Jason up then they got back to a fighting stance. Jason, once again, went to hit Dick but the boy grabbed his fist and used it as leverage to get onto his shoulders. He back-flipped off them then took out Jason's legs. "Grayson wins the second round."

"How the fuck did you do that?" Jason asked.

"Easy. You always punch first, I saw the trend and used it to my advantage. Your arms are pretty strong so I knew I could use them as leverage. Your feet aren't properly squared up either, leaving you vulnerable." he answered as though it was obvious. In reality, he was just repeating the criticisms Slade would give him in the same situation. Any critics he made were engrained within the acrobat's mind. Dick pulled Jason up and saw him wince a little. His eyes widened and he began to tremble slightly. "I hurt you didn't I?" he asked. Jason was about to agree when he saw how shook up Dick looked. "No, it's fine." he lied.

"You're lying. I did. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to." Dick replied.

"Dick it's fine. The only thing you hurt was my pride," Jason joked. Dick managed a small smile but still seemed uncomfortable with what happened. "How about we come back to fighting later? He seems good enough at it anyways. We should invite some leaguers around," Tim suggested to Damian. "Why?" Damian asked.

"He's going to join them at some point. He could do with getting used to them and they might not rip our heads off once he takes on a hero role." Damian shrugged and nodded.

"Seems like a good idea."

"Hey Dickie, we're going to get some family friends over, wanna meet them?" Tim asked.

"Okay," he replied, still a little shook up.

"Great! Damian, how about you do an IQ test on him? Just for fun," he suggested. He nodded and lead Dick out the training room. "Why are we bringing leaguers over?" Jason asked.

"It'll soften them up for when he starts working with us," Tim replied.

About twenty minutes later, Dick had completed the IQ test and the Leaguers were about to arrive. "So, what did he score?" Tim asked with a smile.

"Slightly above average, nothing to write home about," Damian said, staring at the results. "Still better than Todd's."

"That's not exactly a hard score to beat," he replied tauntingly.

"Fuck you dude."
