They had English as their first period. English teacher-Mrs. Garg- was their class teacher. Avneet liked her but she never admired it. Mrs. Garg was a Middle aged and kind hearted woman. Mrs. Garg always admired Avneet, she knew about her potential and what she could do. Avneet sat on the third seat with Ananya- her good friend.
Mrs. Garg said, "Today we are going to do the sitting arrangement."
Huss buss started in the class.
" Shh..." Mrs. Garg shouted. She continued, " I have two bowls, in one boys name and in another girls name, I'll pick one chit from each bowl and this will decide the partners."
Everyone in the class again started whispering.
" Here I begin... " she started. She picked up the first chit and opened it. Avneet was happy as she had the chance to sit with Siddharth.
First chit was of Sargun- the topper of the class with Ravi- another topper of the class.
Seconds it was of Priya and Pankaj. One by one chips were being taken out and read aloud by Mrs. Garg. After sometime there were 5 chits left, Avneet's heartbeats were very fast, her, Siddharth, Rahul, Pagal and Shanaya ( whom Avneet hated the most because Siddharth and Shanaya were girlfriend and boyfriend) names chit were left. She crossed her fingers. First chit was of Rahul and Shanaya. Avneet felt relieved as Siddharth was away from Shanaya. Now, there was a competition between Payal and Avneet. Mrs Garg took out the second chit:- Siddharth and Payal. Avneet started to feel a little disappointed and irritated, her facial expression started to change... Her eyes were red, whole face became red..
" Again, this little soul only has to suffer, why? Why is it so? " Avneet murmured. Suddenly, Shanaya said,
" Ma'am I can't sit with Rahul, so may I sit with Sarah. "
"No, sweetheart, you can always sit with Avneet, she is sitting alone!! " Mrs. Garg suggested.
"OK. I will sit with Avneet." Shanaya agreed.
She went to sit with Avneet... Avneet still lost in her thoughts, with that angry expression on her face.
