I thought that y'all would be eager for this type of thing, so here we go!  :D

"Hello love," he breathed as he warily padded over to join me. I purred in delight at seeing him-something I would never be able to do in camp around our Clanmates.

"It's a beautiful day out," I said. Then I felt sorrow touch my heart. "I wish that you could see it."

Jayfeather's foggy, mysterious blue eyes seemed to stare at where I was for a moment. Then- "I don't need to see to be happy, though the ability would be a welcome convenience. I have my Clan, and I have you."

I brushed my head against his. "And I have you too. But...oh, how I wish you were a warrior, or could be. I was hoping that after the Great Battle, when you said that your powers were lost-"

"Hush," he meowed. "I've told you before-we can be happy as we are."

I just shifted my paws and hoped that he took my silence as acceptance. My gaze wandered around our usual meeting spot- under the protective folds of a large willow. The sunshine reflected off the nearby lake and shimmered through the air.

Jayfeather and I had admitted our feelings for each other a few moons back, and since then he had slowly started to reveal his long-buried secrets and experiences. The one story that made my fur stand on end was his tale of going back in time, before the Clans even existed! But that wasn't what peeved me. It was the she-cat that he'd fallen in love with- Half Moon.

I respected the white Stoneteller and feared her alike. Now I finally understand how Millie must feel- having to compete for the tom you care for with some long-dead lover!

"Jayfeather?" I murmured, groggy from the warmth and lack of sleep from a late hunting patrol the previous night. "Yes?"

"What do you think would happen if the Clan ever found out about us?" His gray tabby fur prickled. "Why do you ask?"

"Well...Lionblaze guessed it, and Ivypool's already discovered us here. And StarClan knows who else will. I'm...I'm just worried."

He nodded. "Yes, I am too. And I can't say that Yellowfang's left me alone, in dreams and the waking world alike. She chose the wrong tom. The other Clans would criticize Firestars's bloodline for generations, since everyone knows about my parents, and Heathertail told WindClan about her and Lionblaze's past meetings. And don't forget about Dovewing and Tigerheart! But," he lapped at my cheekfur, which made me calm down some, "They won't find out about us."
