Hera's POV

Finally, some alone time. Kanan and I, well, mostly Kanan, had left Zeb in charge and got us a getaway trip to somewhere for a couple of days. Tonight, we were dining at a rather nice restuarant. Kanan was wearing a button up shirt and nice pants while I was wearing a simple black dress. After eating, Kanan went and paid, then lead me outside to the speeder. As soon as we were seated, he turned around and tied a blindfold on top of my eyes.

"Kanan, what the-!" I exclaimed.

"Hush, Hera. I'm taking you somewhere and I don't want you to see before we get there."

I sighed, but huffed out, "Ugh, fine."

After a relatively long ride later, so long in fact, I could feel the sunrise warming my chilled skin, the whine of the engine died down and he helped me off. As I walked, I felt that the ground was grassy and littered with little pebbles. After about a minute of walked, I felt Kanan let go of my hand and take the blindfold off of my eyes. I gasped as I gazed out upon the horizon of an ocean that was calm, except for the small, rolling waves. The waves crashed on the rock face and rolled up the beach that was in the distance with a mesmerizing sound. The colors that had spread across the sky relfected off of the waves. It was possibly the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen. I turned back to Kanan, who was on one knee. With a small, velvet box in his hands.

"Hera Syndulla, ever since I heard your voice, I was in love with you. Not only are you beautiful and clever, but you are compassionate, kind, and forgiving. I couldn't think of a better person to be my wife than you. Hera Syndulla, will you marry me?"

Overwhelmed by the many emotions that I was experiencing, I squealed and breathed out, "Yes!"

I jumped up and down and jumped into his arms. He caught me and kissed me. After we broke the kiss he slipped the ring onto my finger. Smiling like an idiot, I followed him back to the speeder.

Life is perfect.
