As you know, this story came to be for the @fright 's challenge. Here are some weird facts.

1) 'The Maggies' was thought up in 7 minutes (the time it took me to walk from one house I was at to another). 

2) Originally, Maggie was going to be joined by her two dead sisters who would turn into birds, but the story would have ended up at least double the size due to the details. I had to make it shorter, so I did not write that.

3) An editor read this story and her comments were, 'This was so powerful I nearly threw up', and 'This is one of the best stories I have ever read'. :D

4) As I was writing the story, I envisioned it mostly in black, white and grey, like an old film.

5) The first paragraph makes me extremely sad every time I read it because it is the only part of the story in my mind that starts with colour (like you are really looking out into the world) and ends up gray. Also, because this paragraph sums up painful loss.

6) I wrote the 7th paragraph because I wanted Maggie to be a lover of poetry and because I like having ghosts waltz on walls.

7) In the third to last paragraph, the little minnows swimming between Maggie's teeth is something I like to use for a character that has lost the plot to the point where they are now dangerous.
