Anya's eyes widened instantly.  "What!?  Why? "

"Maybe he got suspicious of you. Keep walking but go nowhere."

"Ah. OK?"

"Where were you heading to?"

"I don't know. I was angry, and I kept walking without thinking much about the destination.  My bag! " Anya exclaimed suddenly.

"What? "

"My bag, Ali.  I told you I forgot it.  Please go and get it. Wait! " She surprised Ali with her sudden exclamation."Are you following him? "

"We all are."

"Ah! Himani had so much to do."

"We sent her home."

"Oh, that's great.  My bag!  Ali my bag! "

"It's with me.  I look like a very good husband, except that I'm walking with two men, so I don't really know how I look. So, forget your bag and focus!  Keep walking!  Don't go home. We will try to get you out of this.  Remember do not go home.  He might want to check your house."

"He cannot check my house!"

"Well, he can if he comes with the police."

"But I live alone with my grandmother and no men.  So can police check it at night? "

"They can come tomorrow, and they have female police too you know."

"I will not go home."

"Good."

"But he can easily find out my house without following me."

"And if he is really suspicious then he need not do anything. Police will do the work."

"Are you trying to scare me? "

"What are you talking?  Give me the phone." Anya heard Kabir say.  "Anya follow my directions."

"OK."

"Keep walking until you reach the signal.  Can you see it? "

"Yeah. I'm almost there."

"Good. Do not cross the road.  Take a right. "

"OK." Once she reached the traffic signal she looked around to understand where she was, but she had never been in that locality before.  She followed Kabir's instructions and turned to her right.  Again it was a street she was unfamiliar with.

"Keep walking until you see a building with spaghetti as its name."

"Spaghetti? "

"Yeah"

"OK." Anya walked for a few minutes and then she started looking for the building named Spaghetti.  She was lost for almost five minutes before she finally saw the building.  She called Kabir as soon as she saw it."Kabir is this the building."

"It's the one to your left."

"Ha OK. " Anya was quiet for a second before saying, "what should I do?"

"Go closer you will understand."

Anya frowned but followed him quietly. She felt like Aman was getting closer to her so she started walking faster.  In less than a minute she was standing in front of the building.  It was a commercial building and not a residential one. The first thing she did was to count the number of floors.  That was a habit she had ever since she was a kid.  After she counted it twice and was sure it was seven floors tall,  she took a look at her surrounding. The surrounding had nothing special, but there was a transparent door on the right-hand corner which caught her attention.  She looked up at the board and chuckled.

"I don't like you, Kabir, " She whispered before she started walking. She slowly opened the door and peeked inside.  She could not see anyone.  She thought of turning around and telling Kabir it was empty,  but she remembered Aman was between them. So she went inside.  There was a couch and a reception table, but no human. She suddenly felt tired and in need of rest. She quietly walked inside and sat on the couch before closing her eyes.

"May I help you? Anya gasped when someone said that. "Am I that scary? "

"Yes, yes you are."

Samar raised his eyebrows before asking, "Where is your cousin? "

"Shhh." She looked briefly at the door.

"What's the matter? "

"Do you talk to people here?"

"No, there is a small room inside."

"Can we talk there, please? "

"Sure. Come."

A minute later Anya was sitting on a chair across from Samar. Samar was quietly observing her. He waited for her to calm down a little before asking,"What is it? "

"My cousin's husband is following me."

"Who is he?" His voice was calm and firm. That made Anya angry.

She looked away. "Dia's husband."

"You want me to call the police? "

"NO! "

"OK. calm down."

"You are calm for both of us."

"Why is he following you?"

"I don't know."

"Did you do something?"

"No."

"What happened then?"

"He wanted to see me. So I met him around an hour ago, and you know me. I ended up yelling at him and left the cafe abruptly.  I was angry and I don't know for how long I walked before Ali told me that he was following me."

"How did Ali know that? "

"He was with me in the cafe.  All of them were.  Not with me on the table, but with me."

"OK. So what is the plan? "

"I don't know.  Kabir told me to come here.  He said they will get rid of him or something like that."

"Are you fine? "

"Yeah. What will happen to me? " Despite shivering from inside Anya tried to act calm.

"Yeah, you look very fine."

"I am always fine."

Samar shook his head. "OK. Do you want me to call Kabir and ask what is happening out there? "

She looked away before whispering,"I would appreciate that."

Samar took his phone in his hand and dialed his brother's number. He answered it on the second ring. "Kabir." Anya looked at him. "Yeah. He shook his head. "Let us know. Bye."

"What, what, what? "

"He is still outside. They want to wait and see what he will do."

"How long will it take? "

"Soon he said."

"Uff." She closed her eyes, but opened it again. “Police."

“What? “

“I keep seeing a police officer again and again.“

“It can be a coincidence.  Where was the first time you saw him? “

“He is the one who is in charge of Dia's case. You saw him. That one. I saw him day before yesterday. Or maybe yesterday." She frowned. "I don't remember."

“It’s OK if you don’t remember. “

“Then I saw him few minutes ago. “

“Ali and Kabir saw him, too? “

“No. But maybe they don't remember him. Ali anyway cannot remember faces and names.“

“But they can say if someone is following you or not,  right? Like they said your cousin's husband was following you.“

"Maybe.”

“Look, that officer is a professional.  If he wants to follow you he will do that without letting you know. So, if you see him out in open that means he wasn’t following you. “

“How can you be so sure? “

“That is one of the possibilities. “

“So, it’s a fifty fifty chance. “

“Maybe.”

“Then!"

“Then nothing.  Don’t think about it too much. That is only harming you. Be careful. That's all you can do.“

“Everyone said the same thing. Be careful and don't think much.“

“Then believe them. One can go wrong not all. “

She shrugged. “I guess."

"Now, tell me about your cousin? Why isn’t she here yet? "

"She refused to come.  I did not expect her to snap."

"It can be difficult."

"To meet someone who can help you? " Anya narrowed her eyes.

"To accept that you need help. That is difficult."

Anya raised her eyebrows. "What? Is it difficult to accept you need a help? "

"See yourself."

"What do you mean? "

"You remember being ten? You were shifting to a new house. Your mom told you to take your stuff yourself, and I offered to help." Anya rolled her eyes as she knew where the conversation was heading.  "You said no and that you don't need help. Do you remember falling? " Anya looked away.  He smiled. "Now you know how people feel they don't need help,  but actually they do.  That's how it is. "

"Hm." Was all she said.  "Are you getting late? " She immediately changed the topic.

"My working hours are over but it's OK."

"You don't have to go somewhere? Meet someone?"

"I have to. But it's fine."

"Then you should go. I will go somewhere else."

"I will wait."

"You don't have to."

"I know."

She nodded her head and looked away. Then silence took over them. It was awkward and quiet. They both looked around the room, trying to find something interesting that would entertain them. Anya kept herself busy by looking at the certificates on the wall, then the things on the table and then the design of the tiles. She found something or the other to keep her occupied. But Samar was only staring at his wrist watch,  looking at how slow the time was moving. The awkwardness made Anya feel obligated to initiate a conversation. So after hesitating for a minute she said, "it's a good place."

"This is not actually where I work."

"Then? "

"It's on the first floor of this building, and it's being renovated so I had to rent this place for a while."

"Oh. OK. But this place is good."

"It is.  It was a small dental clinic. I don't know why the doctor moved,  but I'm glad he did."

Anya smiled before looking at her phone in her hand.  She was trying to find a away to entrain herself again when she felt some disturbances behind her.  She looked up and her eyes fell on Samar, who had furrowed his eyebrows and looked confuse.  She was about to turn around,  to check what was happening when someone behind her,  who was very close to her exclaimed, "BHO! "

Anya gasped loudly and then froze.  She was in the same position for twenty seconds before she heard someone laughing.  She clenched her teeth."ALI! " she exclaimed even before turning around.

"Sorry." He tried to stop laughing but he could not.  Samar shook his head at their silliness and observed them quietly.

"What are you doing here?" Anya asked.

"Her husband left. So, I came in." He said before sitting on the chair next to her.

"Where is Kabir? "

"He went behind him. He wanted to see what he was up to."

"That's good. I mean that he left.  Wait! " She suddenly snapped.  "Where is sir?  Did you forget him out? " She turned around to look.

"I managed to send him home.  Thank God he is gone.  His questions! "

"He is a very nice human being. " Samar Interrupted him.

"He sure is, but his questions.  He asks so many questions! "

"That is true. Sometimes I wish he wasn't my boss. " Anya agreed.

"You all are the luckiest bunch. You should be thankful to have a boss like him. But you all complain a lot."

"That is true. We complain a lot. But most of the time we see him as a blessing.  It's a fun ride to have a boss like him. " Ali said with a smile.

"True." Anya agreed.  "I should go home now.  It's late."

"I will drop you. " Ali said instantly.

"Naah, I will go."

"Kabir told me to and I want to. That husband does not gave me good vibes."

"How can he give good vibes?  He is evil."

"Then don't go alone. " Samar said.

"I will drop you. " Ali said again.

Anya shook her head. "My brother must be on his way to home.  I will call and ask him to pick me up on the way. He will drop you too."

"That would be great!" Ali was happy. "I was not in a mood to walk."

"Bus stop is too far from home? " Samar asked Ali.

"Yeah. It takes me fifteen to twenty minutes. "

"That's too much."

"I know!  And her evil cousin husband made us walk so much.  I'm exhausted."

Samar chuckled. "Cousin husband?"

"Shh" Anya said when her brother answered the call. She stood up and went out of the room.  While Anya was talking to her brother in the reception area,  Ali and Samar called Kabir.

"That means he is going home, right? " Ali asked Kabir.

"I guess so. "

"Be calm and careful, Kabir.  No need to get emotional." Samar adviced his brother which made Ali frown.  "Emotional?" Ali asked.

"When are you leaving Ali?" Kabir asked him.

"Anya and I are going home with her brother most probably.  She is talking to him right now. "

"That's good.  I will call you two later.  Once I'm sure he is home I will head home."

"Kabir I have a question. How are you following him? " Samar asked.

"In your car. "

Samar shook his head. "I had a feeling."

Ali laughed."That was his car? Right you don't have a car, but you went in a car.  That didn't click."

"Why do you still have my duplicate key? "

"For emergencies like this."

"How am I suppose to go home? "

"Bus, train, Auto, Ola or take an Uber.  I will pay. When I reach home of course, so for time being you pay."

"Yeah, you will pay be back."

Ali chuckled at Samar's sarcasm before he said,"Anya's brother can drop you."

"My house is in a different direction, remember?"

"So what? Let's go for a long drive. "

"Good idea.  You all enjoy your long drive,  I have to go." Kabir disconnected the call.

Samar looked up and saw Ali smiling.  "What?"

"Let's go for a long drive."

"I pass."

"Why not?  Anya is your childhood friend. Don't you know her brother? "

"I know him. "

"He is an old friend, right? Or maybe he is still your friend."

"Yes, he is."

"Then he won't mind dropping you."

Samar took a deep breath."Why do you want me to come?  It will make your journey unnecessarily long. Don't you want to go home?"

"Well, I have never met her brother and it would be awkward.  What will I do in the car? It would be good to have someone I know. "

"Do you realise after dropping me you will be alone? and also it would mean you will have to be in the car with them for a longer period. What's the logic?"

"I want to spend some time with you. " He blinked his eyes few times.

Samar stared him for thirty seconds before saying,"please be joking".

Ali smiled widely and said "you are a friend's fan!" But soon he wore a mask of blank expression. "I'm dead serious."

And like Ali wanted they went on a long drive. Anya's brother convinced Samar to come with them despite the fast that he knew his little sister did not like the idea. Anya did not like the idea because she wanted you go home, but it turned out to be a good idea. Anya got time to forget about everything. Her brother didn't know about their little adventure so they talked about different topics and that was refreshing. It made her remember that she liked talking to her brother. She decided to call him frequently. He may not know her secret but he knew her. An eventful day which Anya had concluded as bad  did have a moment of peace. Just as our life. There is always a moment of peace. But it takes eyes to see.
