-a year after y/n moves back-

-y/n pov-

I cant believe graduation is here. Time flew by so quickly. It didn't feel like that long ago that i was in the hospital for my wrist or moving out to California. During this last year of school at Eden Hall, mostly everybody still played hockey, including myself.

We all walk across the stage and get handed our diplomas, and they call for the valedictorian to give their speech. I stand up and make my way to the stage.

"Thank you headmaster." I say as I set my little card down with the speech. "for those of you who don't know, i'm y/n y/l/n. I spent so many hours trying to think of something good to write and say for this, if you don't believe me, ask my dad how many times I made him read the other copies" I chuckled and so did some others. "if you had have told me when I was a kid that I'd be standing here, in front of all these people, doing this, I would have just laughed. Because never in a million years did I think I would be blessed with the ducks and this class." I say, and can feel a tear forming in the corner of my eye. "I can't wait to see how far we all get, in life, in our careers, in sports or whatever you plan on doing after this. And for the ducks, quack quack" I say, as I wink and laugh, and the ducks quack back. And I look at Dwayne, and he's looking at me as if I'm the sun, and he smiles his cheeky little smile. "Thank you all for the good high school years! Now we get to see life kick some of us in the ass!" Everybody claps and laughs and I walk off stage and sit back down.

-after the ceremony-

Me, Connie and Julie were all crying while we grouphugged. Julie was leaving to go back home tonight and I was leaving soon as well. We get out of the group hug and t notice Dean and Fulton standing there.

"Get in here you two." I say as I hug both of them at the same time. "i'm gonna miss you guys!" I wipe the tears rolling down my face with the sleeve of the red graduation robe. we let go of the group hug and i see Dwayne walking over.

"You ready to go?" Dwayne asks and I nod. If he wanted to make it to the airport on time to go to back to Austin he had to leave soon. I waved goodbye and we left to go to his dorm to grab his bags.

-at the airport-

I walk him to his gate and he turns around and kisses me on the forehead.

"I'll see you soon, okay?"

"One week y/n, one more week"

-time skip, 5 years-

The barn doors open and I walk through them, and I see him at the end of the aisle waiting. Everything I dreamed of was here. Getting married on our beautiful farm that we bought almost 2 years ago.

The ducks are here as well, Connie and Julie being my maids of honour because I couldn't pick just one of them to be it. I get up to where he's standing and look up at him, and he's crying and looking at me with a huge smile. I look back at him, smiling so hard.

-after the ceremony and everything-

Everybody left, but me and Dwayne planned on doing a private last dance with our photographer and the band, and it was just how I wanted it to be. We were dancing to a slow song, just being there in the moment.

"I love you y/n," he whispers, "I can't wait for life with you."
