"Son, wake up."

Anthony opens his eyes and becomes startled to find Alaric Saltzman staring down at him.

"What?"

"Sorry, dad. I forgot you're in someone else's body... It's going to take some getting used to. And it's the body of my soulmate's teacher..."

"Well, it won't be for long. I have to get going soon so go ahead and get ready. Breakfast will be ready once you're done."

"Thanks, dad."

Klaric smiles and leaves the room. After getting ready for the day, Anthony is about to leave his room but stops when he hears his father questioning Katherine about the Mystic Falls Gang.

"And don't forget you're on the outs with your girlfriend Jenna."

"Right. Elena's aunt." He puts his jacket on and walks towards her. "For all the lies about Isobel. What else?" He reaches out to touch her hair and she moves back. "So jumpy."

"Please, just...kill me. I've told you everything you want to know." She pleads.

"You see, I believe that you believe that." He says while leaning closer to her. "But what would you not know? What could they be keeping from you? Hmm? Anything?" After still not getting a response, he chooses to compel her. "Tell me."

"They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an original without a dagger since her grandmother and aunt are refusing to do so."

"Bonnie...the best friend? I thought you said she didn't have her powers anymore. And who is her family that you're speaking of?"

"Dad."

Klaric sees Anthony coming out of his room and approaching them. Katherine has a shocked expression learning that Klaus has a son.

"You have a son?"

"Yes and you will not speak to anyone of him, Katerina."

Klaric smiles and turns to his son until he notices the downcast expression on his son's face. He quickly walks towards him, placing his hands on his shoulders.

"Anthony? What's wrong?"

Anthony sighs and looks up at him. "...Don't hurt Bonnie please."

"...Why?"

"Because she's Kathleen's cousin."

"...Your soulmate?"

"I know that you want to break the curse but please don't hurt Bonnie... I don't want to see Kathy upset. And I'm already afraid how she will react when she finds out when-"

"I won't, son. Don't worry... No harm will come to neither Kathleen or her family. Okay? I know how much she means to you."

Anthony smiles and gives Klaric a hug.

"Thanks, dad... One more thing."

"Anything for you, my son." Klaric says pulling away. 

"Stop torturing Katherine."

"But-"

"Dad."

After a stare-off, Klaric groans and gives up. "Fine! I'll leave her be! Now breakfast is ready, go eat. I'm gonna go lay eyes on my doppelgänger." He walks over to the front door and looks back at Anthony. "And don't even think about doodling on my face while I'm gone."

"I don't even know where your body is though!"

"Ah, that's right... You don't." Klaric smirks before taking his leave.

"Humph... That old man better hope I don't find his body and draw a cat on his face..." Anthony mumbles then turns to Katherine. "I haven't introduced myself yet, have I? I'm Antonius Tobias Mikaelson. My dad took me when I was a baby and raised me as I were his own for sixteen years. Nice to meet you, Katherine. Now that introductions are out of the way, want to eat with me?"

"What? Why?" She asks with a raised eyebrow while crossing her arms.

"Aren't you hungry? The food is going to get cold."

"Why would you help me? You don't have any ulterior motives?"

"It's just... I want to make up for what my dad has done. Don't get me wrong, I love him but I'm not always going to agree with his actions... I know about what he did to you and you didn't deserve that. You were just trying to survive and my dad has no right to be angry with you for that."

"...Hard to believe you're his kid."

"You're not the first to think that." He says going to sit at the table and she joins him.

"So... What's this about Kathy being your soulmate?"

"Ah... Well, Kathy and me have known each since we were kids. We're able to talk to each other through our dreams. My dad had a witch look into it and we found out that she was my soulmate. I never told Kathy this and she thinks I'm just part of her imagination. My dad brought us here to break his curse and so that I can finally meet her in real life now... But because of who my dad is and what's about to happen, I'm afraid she will hate me." He says with a half-smile.

"...You shouldn't worry about what Kathy thinks. She'll accept you no matter what... I would know."

"Thanks, Kat." He gives her a genuine smile.

"No problem."

"Oh, here." He takes a vial of vervain out of his jean pocket and places it on the table in front of her. "If my dad still compels you, just pretend to go along with it. But if he makes you do something that will hurt you, I'll step in."

"You're really giving me this? Won't you get into trouble?"

"Like I said, you don't deserve my dad's awful treatment towards you. And my dad loves me too much to be angry with me."

"...Thanks, kid." She smirks.

"No problem."

"Why do I have to go?"

"Because if Caroline is making us suffer, you're suffering too! That's what friends are for, Jer!" Eun Mi tells him while pinching both his cheeks.

He pulls her hands away from his face. "Will you stop that! I swear you two are always making me question this friendship!"

"Come on, Jer Bear! I lost an hour of sleep for this! Be our friend date!" Kathleen whines.

"Yeah, I know. You know why? Because I'm the one who got slapped for waking you up!"

"Look I told you I was sorry! And you know how I am when I require sleep!"

"That's why Eun Mi or your mom should have woken you up! They're the only ones that never get hit by you!"

"...Would it be wrong to say that I wanted to see you get slapped?" Eun Mi playfully smirks.

Jeremy's jaw drops as Kathleen covers her mouth to prevent herself from laughing.

"Unbelievable." He mutters while walking away from them.

"Pick us up at six, okay?! We love you!" Kathleen shouts at him.

"Yeah, whatever!" He shouts back at them.

Both the teenage girls giggle and just as Kathleen turns around, she bumps into Klaric.

"Oops! Sorry, Ric!"

"Kathy, please don't start with your clumsiness."

"I've only been clumsy one time!" Kathleen retorts.

"Try your whole life."

As the girls bicker, Klaric stares at Kathleen, recognizing her as his Anthony's soulmate. He begins to smile at the thought of his son's happiness. 

"Ric?" Kathleen waves her hand in front of Klaric's face. "Are you alright?"

"Ah, yes... Kathleen. Eun Mi. Good morning." He nods at them both.

"Morning. Come on, Kiki." Eun Mi loops her arm with Kathleen's. "We've got to get to class. See ya, old man."

As they walk away, Klaric overhears them talking about Anthony.

"And while we're in class, let me know if you're planning on falling asleep to see your boyfriend." Eun Mi teases.

"He's not my boyfriend!" Kathleen whines.

Klaric lightly chuckles before heading to his class.

After school, Klaric goes to Mystic Grill and sees Kathleen drinking a smoothie. He smiles and walks over to her table.

"Hey, Kathy." He greets her before sitting in front of her.

"Hey, Ric..." She says with a sad smile.

"You okay?" He asks with concern, after noticing her looking down.

"...It's just... Elena has been getting messages from Klaus and he's going to show up at some point. I'm really getting tired of the Save Elena Squad." She says with air quotes. "I'm sorry I know that she's my friend and your step-daughter but-"

"You're worried someone is going to get hurt because of her."

"I know that she doesn't mean for some things to happen but...nothing good comes out of trying to help her. And I don't know for what reason but we're not suppose to kill Klaus! But they just won't listen! I'm just really scared of what will happen next." Her eyes begin glistening with tears.

"Look, Kathy... You shouldn't worry. No one is going to get hurt, I'm sure of it."

"How can you be so sure of that? You know how they are."

"There's more to me than you think." He says with a smirk as he wipes away her tears with this hand. "No matter what happens tonight, Bonnie will be safe and no one else from your family will get hurt. No harm will come to Elena... Maybe Damon or Stefan will end up will broken necks though." The last part making her giggle. "There's that smile. Now I have to get home so I can get ready. And eat something before the dance, alright? Don't just drink a smoothie."

"Sure thing, old man... Thanks, Ric."

"You're welcome." He ruffles her hair and she smacks his hand away.

Kathleen & Eun Mi's decade dresses

Kathleen walks arm in arm with Eun Mi and Jeremy into the gym.

"I can't believe I was forced to come to this..."

"First all of, you weren't forced. You went home, got dressed in your cute suit. And I know you ate some pizza bites, so don't even try to deny it. Then left your house, got in your car and drove to both our houses to pick us up. So you came willingly, did you not?" Eun Mi states.

"...Why am I even friends with you?" He groans.

"Where else are you going to find someone like me?" Eun Mi asks as she flips her hair.

He rolls his eyes as Kathleen giggles at her best friends.

"My munchkins! Oh look how cute you two look!" Caroline squeals rushing over to them.

"Hey, Mama Bear. You look pretty." Kathleen smiles at her.

"Thank you, sweetie. Jeremy, you cleaned up nicely."

"Oh, thank you very much. It was a joy to dress up." He says but she ignores his sarcasm.

"Enjoy yourselves, okay? Don't even think about leaving without having a dance or two! And help yourselves to drinks and snacks! Oh, we have to take pictures later as well! I have to get back to Matt now, see ya!"

She hugs both Kathleen and Eun Mi and after leaving the trio, Dana makes her way up to the stage.

"We have a special shoutout for Kathleen Bennett! This is from Klaus... Everything will be alright."

The crowd all lets out an collective aww and cheers when the song begins playing. The trio look at each other with confused expressions.

"Why is he calling me out? I didn't even do anything!"

"That was a lame, cheap shot. He's just trying to bait us." Damon says as he approaches the trio.

"Great, Dummy Two is here." Eun Mi mutters.

"Hey, I heard that!"

"Good!"

"What do you want, Grandpa?"

"You can't still be mad at me!" Damon goes to wrap his arm around Kathleen's shoulders.

"And why not? You tried to kill Jeremy. You killed Mason, even Bonnie had a part in you and Stefan kidnapping him because you two manipulated her into thinking it was for Elena. You guys daggered Elijah even though he was trying to help us. The Martins almost died because of you guys. You continually judge Katherine despite knowing her past. What else could I bring up?" Kathleen rants.

"...For that first one, you snapped my neck before I could."

"I'm still not sure which of you is the dumb brother and the dumbest brother." Eun Mi says with her thinking face.

"I'll pretend that I didn't hear that one." Damon glares at her and looks back to Kathleen. "Come on! Can you forget about that stuff for now and dance with me? Somebody has to keep an eye on you since you now have a target on your back."

"That's funny considering the multiple targets you have on your back." Eun Mi snorts.

"Are you done with the insults?"

"Never." Eun Mi tells him with a fake smile, making him roll his eyes at her.

Damon removes his arm from Kathleen's shoulders and and offers her his hand. 

"Please?" He asks with a pout.

Kathleen rolls her eyes. "Fine. We had to come in because of Care, might as well have some fun." She takes his hand and he leads her to the dance floor. "Behave yourself, Mimi! You two better not do the hand jive without me!"

"I'm not dancing! Isn't me coming here enough?!"

"Jeremy... Must I once again explain how this friendship works?" Eun Mi asks placing her hand on his shoulder.

Later, Kathleen and Eun Mi force Jeremy to join them on the dance floor. Kathleen eventually notices her cousin and the Salvatore brothers talking.

"What are they up to now?"

"Who knows? When are they not doing something?" Eun Mi asks with a sarcastic tone.

Bonnie leaves as the brothers get into a heated argument. Kathleen decides to make her way over to them and her eyes widened by what Stefan says.

"Are you seriously allowing Bonnie to go on a suicide mission?"

"Excuse you?! What is it this time, huh?! What stupidity are you guys up to now?!" Kathleen yells at them, making them turn to her.

"Kathy-"

"Shut up, Steven! Damon, explain yourself!" Kathleen snaps at Stefan before pointing at Damon.

After Damon explains what him and Bonnie are planning, he is forced to go into the hallway and is flung back and forth between the lockers as punishment by Kathleen. She leaves the Salvatore brothers behind to go find her cousin.

"Bonnie Sheila Bennett! You plan on dying to keep Elena alive?!"

"Kathy, this is the only way we can save Elena."

"But we're not suppose to kill Klaus! And even if he could be killed, don't you think someone would have already done it?! Why won't you listen?!"

"If we don't help her, she will die!"

"Elijah had a way to save Elena if any of you had bothered to listen!"

Knowing that she isn't getting through to her younger cousin, Bonnie gives her a tearful smile.

"...I love you and I'm sorry."

Everything turns dark for Kathleen as the last thing she hears is someone yelling at Bonnie.

Bonnie wakes up in her room, confused as to why.

"Nice to see my precious niece still alive."

She sits up and sees her aunt sitting next to her bed with a furious expression...

"To give you the short version, Klaus got away and Elena is with one of her boyfriends." 

"How did you-"

"Kathleen sent me a text to let me know what you were up to. It's a good thing that she did, otherwise you would be dead... I did the best I could to raise you. My mother, your grandmother did the best she could to raise you. And you want to act like this? A damn fool?!"

"I have my powers back! I can use them to help-"

"You should be grateful that you even managed to get them back! You lost them as punishment for what you did to Luka! That was your karma!"

"Elena needed me, Aunt Celine!"

"At what cost, Bonnie?! It's a good thing I interfered because you would have been dead! I know that you and Elena grew up together and she's one of your best friends... But is she really a friend? How many times did she choose the Salvatore brothers over you? How about all the times she relies on you for your magic despite the repercussions? Huh?"

"But what's the point of having magic if I can't use it to protect anyone?!"

"We never told you not to use them! Just be smarter with them! I know damn well that I taught you to never let people take advantage of your kindness. Because if someone does that to me... I show them how ruthless I can be. You are a Bennett... You think about that the next time you want to do something stupid... Think about your family too while you're at it."

She stands up from the chair and just as she is about to leave the room, Bonnie calls out to her.

"...How is Kathy?"

Celine turns back to her. "Still unconscious. She'll most likely be awake by tomorrow morning...and I doubt she will be happy with you..." Bonnie flinches after her aunt leaves, slamming the door behind her.

Flashback

Bonnie walks into the cafeteria to find Klaric sitting in a chair.

"You know that hurt earlier when you threw me across the trophy case... Being in a human body does have it's disadvantages. It's been so long that I've forgotten how- OW!"

His wrist is suddenly broken due to Bonnie using her magic.

"Really?!" He grabs his hands and jerks it back in place. "I have no intention of harming you, Bonnie Bennett."

"I have the power to kill you, so why wouldn't you want me dead?

"...Because of Kathleen... If I killed you, she would be devastated. And I would never hurt her."

End of Flashback

"Kathy?"

Kathleen opens her eyes to find Anthony staring at her with a smile which turns into a frown once she starts tearing up. He pulls her into a hug, one hand on the back and her head and the other rubbing her back, soothing her.

"Hey, what's the matter?" He asks with his cheek resting on top of her head.

"...I'm so tired." She silently cries.

So what did you think of Anthony and Katherine's interaction? What about Kathy and Klaus? ( I called him Klaric this whole chapter😂)

Poor Kathy, Bonnie should have listened! Kathy does care for Elena but she's really getting tired of the drama. A lot of people have gotten hurt or end up dead because of her or the Salvatore brothers. Kathy just wants to settle things peacefully.

Damon will be suffering from a certain witch's wrath next chapter, just to let you know(;

Also to tell you a few differences:

Jeremy and Bonnie are not together. Sorry, I just don't ship them.

Jeremy was not killed by Damon. Kathleen prevented that since she was there.

Luka and Mr. Martin were not killed by the Salvatores. They didn't deserve what happened to them.

Now yes in the show, Bonnie did fake her death. But in this she had every intention on dying to save Elena, and that's where Celine came in to prevent that.
