Death was here, but in a form that is unexpected. "Why? What is your reason?" I say as the eyes of this demon looks at me. Blood dripping all over her dress and cape. A clenched dagger in her hands.
"I have my reasons, as you do." She says and she starts to run. They all say that her hood is stained, but now that I have witnessed it, it is not stained. It I more than stained. It looks like she washes it in blood, that it is still dripping with blood. The floors are scrubbed hard and I cry over my husbands dead body. Funny thing is that Snow never came running. She never heard a thing. She never learned how this happened, all she knows is that her father had killed himself, overwhelmed by grief and stress.
Other things that bother me, like the eyes of Death, never has anybody seen her whole face, only her piercing blue eyes. She spoke in a voice, that never hesitated. Never trembled. It was strong and sure.
The next day was the funeral and for the slightest moment I thought I saw little Snow smiling at her fathers casket. Her crystal blue eyes gleamed with saddness, but her smile told otherwise.
The kingdom went into more of a depression than before, and still my daughter had not been chosen. Death would not take her. I was glad for this, and as a good mother, I wanted her to have a set of parents.
So I remarried, the King of a neighboring kingdom. He and his son had moved into our castle. The night I moved in I heard a shrill scream. It came from the Prince's bedroom, and my mind became horrified.
Another scream, and how I started to run down the hall. My short night dress, the color of rum, became very airy.
I reached the Prince's door and hesitated before twisting the brass handle. There on the white carpet lay, the prince in the clutches of Death herself.
He wasn't dead from what I believed at that moment, but then again after I saw her face I didn't believe anything at that moment.
"Mother, he was bad. Very bad. The mirror told me so." She had said. Death was my daughter. Dressed in a cape and dress. I couldn't condemn this, so as I stood in shock she stood up.
She came closer and closer, and my mind raced with questions, but I couldn't t say a word.
She came up to my ear and whispered 5 words that made my decision much harder. The decision to conceal her away, to in prison her, for the kingdoms sake. Her words were like ice. They echoed in my ears for such of a long moment. "I love you mommy. Forever"
And with the flick of her wrist, she made  white rose appear. As she placed it in my hand, it dropped into the blood pool. She bent over and picked it up, and placed it in my hair.
I managed a shudder and with that she was off, out of the room. Down the hall into her own bedroom.
