The diving bell and the butterfly it truely is an amazing movie, not quite in the genre i would usually watch though. It is a french movie focusing on the late editor of elle magazine. The man was struck down by a stroke in his prime and was stricken with lock in syndrome (where the victim can think and move their eyes but cannot speak, move, or do anything independently. It follows his story through, what i believe is the most ingenious camera usage ever, his eyes. It is deeply moving as he moves from a feeling of helplessness to one of empowerment as he learns to communicate blinking one eye. He reconciles with his fast lifestyle: the loves lost, his children oft forgotten, and everything he will likely have to live without. The story follows him as he writes a his book, which was for an extended period of time on the best sellers list. This movie is fantastic and is well done and correctly portrays this real life story.
