Darry's POV:

"Is that man who hurt us watching us still?"

Ponyboy stuttered. He was scared to death right now. He wouldn't go near a window or door or nothing. He stayed right next to me and Sodapop.

He even needed Soda to stand in the shower so he could pee. Just because he didn't want to be alone.

"We'll be fine Pony.. I don't think he's watchin' us no more. He probably thinks we're dead or something."

Replied Soda. I looked at both of them. I hope this don't mean we gotta go to court with all this mess..

"Sodapop,"

I started.

"I'm going outside to check around the house, you stay in here with Ponyboy."

I said.

"Darry you sure? He might still be out there.."

Soda mumbled. Both my brothers were holding each other on the couch as tight as they probably could, Ponyboy shaking in Soda's arms.

"I'm sure,"

I said. I walked to them and say in front of Ponyboy.

"Hey, look at me,"

I said. I put a finger under his chin and lifted it, making him look at me.

"Your a Curtis, you hear me Ponyboy?"

I said. He faintly nodded his head.

"A Curtis ain't scared of anything."

I stood. I headed to the door and looked out the peephole. Nobody on the porch.

"I'll be right back,"

I carefully walked to the side of the yard, looking through bushes and behind fences, making sure nobody was there. I moved to the backyard and saw it was completely empty.

Only one more side of the house.

I slowly looked around the corner and examined the bushes extra carefully. I saw something.. It looked like.. A name tag.

Fizz's POV:

"What? Wait hold on,"

I said. Veronica gave me a warning look.

"Don't say anything, Elizabeth."

She said. I stared at her in shock. She.. She knew my name.. I never told her and.. And she knew my name..

"H-How did you-"

I was cut off. Veronica walked in front of me, in front of Danny. She held her arms out and spread her legs. Her head faced down and she began to silently whimper.

Danny held something, that looked almost like a rope.

"You know what? I'm gonna punish both of you."

He said, snickering. He handed me the rope looking object.

"Now this, Fizz, is called a whip. You whip people with it."

He said. I stared at the object.

"I-I can't.."

I stuttered. He got close to my face, a little too close for comfort.

"You will do it Elizabeth. If you don't, you'll be punished too."

He whispered.

"Do it Elizabeth!"

Veronica said. She stayed in her current position and had her hands clutched into fists.

"Do it!"

She said.

Danny took my hands and forced the rope into them, hitting Veronica very hard.

"No! Stop, your hurting her!"

I yelled. Tears fell down my face as he began counting.

"Ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen,"

He continued.

"STOP!"

I yelled. Veronica had tears running down her face, I tried to pull my hands away but his big burly ones were too strong.

"V-Veronica.. I-I'm sorry!"

I sobbed. The little girl that was brought in watched in horror behind Veronica.

I cried and looked at her, silently pleading that she would stand up and do something. But she laid on the ground and cried.

Danny finally stopped and I fell to the floor, sobbing. Veronica fell too, and we all eventually fell asleep, sobbing on the cold, hard ground.
