Mason's P.O.V.

Suddenly, the wand was snatched from Fairy Godmother, who was finished blessing Bethany.

We all gasped and looked at Jane. She was struggling to control the wand, which was spurting out like a sparkler.

"Child, what are you doing?!" Fairy Godmother asked her.

"If you won't make me beautiful, I'll do it myself!" Jane replied.

"Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!" Jane said.

"Take cover!" Adam/Beast said as he pushed Bethany and Belle behind him.

I saw my Auradon friends backing away, screaming. It was then I ran and grabbed a hold of the wand as well.

"Careful, Mason!" Belle told me. I pulled with all my strength and eventually took the wand away from Jane.

I held it as I eyed everybody around me.

"Mason, give me the wand." Bethany said as she slowly walked to me.

"Stay back." I told her.

"It's okay, Mason. Please." she told me.

"Beth, I said stand back!" I yelled at her, making her flinch.

"I told you so!" Andrew said, walking forward.

I pointed the wand at him and he stepped back with his family.

I saw Harley, Jay, Carlos, and Evie all run to me, joining my side.

"Let's go." Carlos said.

"Revenge time." Jay added with a glare.

"We have to finish what our parents couldn't." Harley added.

"You really want to do this?" Bethany asked us.

"We have no choice, Bethany! Our parents-" I said, but was cut off by her.

"Your parents made their choice. Now, you make yours." she told me.

I looked at her and her parents. They were so innocent. They didn't ask for any of this to happen. They didn't want to be in conflict with our parents in the first place. I fell in love with an amazing girl and started my own path here.

Did I really want to throw all this away for something I didn't really want to do?

Something my mother forced me to do?

"I think I wanna be good." I said.

"You are good." Bethany told me.

"How do you know that?!" I asked her.

"Because I'm listening to my heart!" she said, tears starting to form in her eyes. I looked at her and I could feel warmth tugging a my heartstrings. I couldn't lie to myself anymore. I needed to be brutally honest.

"I wanna listen to my heart, too." I said. Bethany smiled at me as she wiped a tear.

That made my heart shatter and tears form in my own eyes.

"And my heart is telling me that we are not our parents." I explained, turning to my best and closest friends who were my only family.

I looked at Jay. "I mean, stealing things doesn't make you happy. Tourney and victory pizza with the team makes you happy." I explained.

He smiled at me.

I looked at Carlos. "And you, scratching Dude's belly makes you happy. Who would've thought?" I said. He smiled at me and nodded his head.

I looked at Harley. "I know you won't admit it, but playing basketball makes you happy." I told her. She smiled as Carlos patted her shoulder.

I finally looked at Evie. "And Evie, you do not have to play dumb to get a guy. You are so smart." I told her. She let out a small laugh and nodded with tear-filled eyes.

"And I don't want take take over the world with evil. It doesn't make me happy. I wanna go to school and be with Bethany. Because Bethany makes me really happy." I explained, looking at her.

She sent me a smile and I returned it.

I turned to my group. "Us being friends makes me really happy. Not destroying things." I explained.

"I choose good, you guys." I said, holding out my fist. They all looked at me.

Jay decided to join in. "I choose good, too." he added.

"Definitely choose good." Harley said, joining her fist in.

"I choose good." Evie added, joining her fist in.

"Wait, just to be clear, we don't have to be worried about how mad our parents will be? Because they're gonna be really, really, mad." Carlos said as we all laughed.

"Your parents can't reach you here." Bethany explained. "Okay, then. Good." Carlos said.

I looked at my girlfriend and held my free hand out. She smiled as she took it and joined he fist in.

Everybody clapped and I placed a kiss to her lips, making the majority of the people cheer.

Suddenly, there was a thunderous crashing sound. Everybody gasped as the familiar green smoke flew and soon landed, revealing the one person I never expected. It was my mother.

Everyone looked on in horror as the smoke vanished and she was now in the castle.

"I'm baaaaack!" she shouted in a singing voice.

"It can't be." Harley whispered.

"Go away, Mother." I told her.

"Hahaha, he's funny. You're very funny. Here. Wand me. Chop, chop." she told me.

"No!" Bethany exclaimed.

I tossed the wand to Fairy Godmother. "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-"

"Boo." Mother cut her off and rose her scepter, which resulted in everyone getting frozen.

I looked to my right and Bethany was....not frozen?

"Why aren't you frozen?" Jay asked her.

"I don't know." she replied.

"There has to be an explanation!" Evie said.

"Oh, don't worry. I left her like that for one reason only, which I'll get back to later." Mother explained.

I put my girlfriend behind me as I glared at my mom. "Falling in love is weak and ridiculous." she said as she slapped Adam/Beast's face.

"It's not what you want." she said.

"You don't know what I want!" I yelled. She looked at me in disbelief.

"Mom, have you ever once asked me what I want? I'm not you." I told her.

"Well, obviously. I've had years and years and years of practice being evil. You'll get there." she explained.

"No, I will not!" I shouted. Mom began to glare at me.

"And I really wish you couldn't have gotten there yourself. Love is not weak or ridiculous. It's actually really amazing." I explained, holding Bethany's hand.

"I know one thing, young man. You have no room for love in your life!" she yelled.

I glared at her as did my friends. "And now, I command wand to my hand!" I said the spell, having a tug-of-war with Mom for the wand.

I eventually had enough power to grab it in my hand.

"Nice job, Babe!" Bethany said with a smile.

"It worked!" Evie said.

"I hardly think so. This is devious and very immature. Give me the wand! Give me the wand!" Mom shouted.

Carlos then placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Hold on, Mason. Maybe good really is more powerful than evil." he explained.

Mom laughed, taunting him. "Oh, please. You're killing me. Arrfh!" she said, imitating a dog barking.

Dude came running and barked, jumping on her. Mom groaned in disgust and got him off her.

Jay went to snatch the scepter from her. She felt his muscles. "Gaston should be jealous." she said as she pushed him away. She let out a laugh as he hit the ground.

"Enough!" she yelled.

"You all will regret this!" she said as green smoke filled the air.

I put an arm in front of Bethany as the smoke cleared and Mom was in her dragon form. We all gasped before she spewed fire at us.

Jay avoided as we all ran. I held Bethany's hand as we made a run for the exit.

"Mason! Help me!"

I looked and saw that my girlfriend was in my mother's grasp. She let out a ferocious roar as she looked at Bethany.

"Get your hands of me, hag!" she yelled as she struggled to get free. Mom then flew, holding her tightly.

"Stay back, guys." I told my friends.

I growled as I felt my eyes turn green.

My anger was rising each second to the point where I was literally shaking. I breathed heavily as green smoke engulfed me.

Before I knew it, I was already in my dragon form. I roared, catching Mom's attention. She stayed there frozen in shock.

She roared back and we began spewing fire at each other, me avoiding Bethany. I chased her around the inside, trying to retrieve my girl from her.

"Mason!" she screamed.

'I'm coming, Darling! Hold on!" I thought to myself.

"Magic mirror, shine your bright light!" I heard Evie command.

Soon, a beam of light hit Mom in the eyes, blinding her. I heard Bethany scream as she fell, which my instincts told me to fly to her.

I caught her in my hand and she looked relieved. Slowly putting her on my back, she held on tight. I flew down and stood in front of my friends, protecting them.

   I had a stare off with Mom and I could feel the others joining in. It seemed to make her weak, since she was backing up a bit.

Soon, she roared as green mist engulfed her and she vanished. We all stood there, unsure of what just happened.

Bethany got off my back and walked to me. I looked at her and she smiled. She stroked my face and pressed her forehead against it.

"Thank you, Mason." she said.

I leaned into her touch and licked her. I let the green smoke engulf me and soon, I was back to my human form. I smiled as I hugged Bethany, who wrapped her arms around me as tight as she could.

As we pulled away, Fairy Godmother was unfrozen. We all ran to where she was.

"What just happened with your Mom?" Harley asked.

"I have no idea." I replied.

"Did you do it?" Evie asked. "I don't know." I replied.

"Oh, no, no, no. Your mother did. She shrank to the size of the love in her heart. That's why it's so itty-bitty." she explained.

"Is she gonna be like that forever?" I asked.

"Well, forever is a long time. You've learnt to love. So can she." she explained.

"I believe this belongs to you." I said, handing her the wand. She smiled warmly at us.

"You all have earned yourselves an 'A' in Goodness class." she said.

All of us laughed and high-fived each other.

"Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!" she chanted.

Soon, everybody was unfrozen and checking on one another. I felt relieved that all the chaos was over and done with.

"Mom! Dad!" Bethany said, running to her parents. They looked at her and engulfed her in a hug. I smiled as I saw her talk to them for a bit.

Then, she turned to me and gestured for me to join. I walked up to them and her parents smiled at me.

"Well, you really are what Bethany looks for in a guy. You protected her and saved her life. For that, we are beyond grateful." Belle explained.

"That's why we are giving you our blessing to continue dating our daughter." Adam/Beast explained.

I smiled as I nodded. "I'll take great care of her. I promise."

I took Bethany's hand and we joined our friends.

"Let's get this party started!" Jay said.
