The sun was shining brightly through the white clouds, warming up the air, and making grasses to gleam like emeralds. . The smell of hot barbecues had filled the afternoon air with authority.  Cindy could easily tell that summer was approaching as she stood beside her dad. He was a well-built man with a round face and wore around glasses. They both stood in front of the mansion on the lawn, while he ruffled her blond strands of hairs with his hand. Her mom, Zoie, and her little sister, April, were sitting  on the front porch.

"Daddy," Cindy said.

"Yes, butterfly." he said with a big smile on his face.

"Where are they?

"They will be here in a minute," he replied, staring at the big gate. He was actually hoping that they will be coming in minutes. He had phoned them. They had told him that they are close, and will be there soon.

Cindy said nothing. She just kept staring at her dad.

"I am preparing the dining table," Zoie announced irritably, standing up on the porch. She was a slim woman in her early thirties, blond hair and dark blue eyes. She took April on her shoulder and toting her she disappeared inside the mansion.

"Looks likes your mama has lost her patience."

Cindy giggled. She had always admired her dad. She had always thought that her dad was the funniest person on earth, but after Mr. Blommy. Mr. Blommy was a cartoon character she used to watch every Friday night on a magical thing, the magic box. Adults called it TV, but she never liked the name 'TV'.

She soon stopped laughing, when her eyes caught the bright yellow butterfly skimming over the dry grasses. "Why do butterflies have so...differenn colors?" Cindy blurted.

He grinned, although he was shocked by her sudden question. He thought for a while, and then replied ''Rainbow! It's because they fly through the rainbow hence they have so bright--"

He was cut off by a noise, a growing roar of an approaching vehicle. His eyes searched for the vehicle, and soon the big blue truck came into view. It stopped in front of the gate, it's engine tickled into silence. A man jumped out from the driver's seat. He was wearing a gray shirt and a gray cap. He adjusted his cap and then strolled towards them. ''Mr. Luke Lawson?" He asked.

''You are late,'' Luke said, glancing at his wrist watch.

"Sorry, sir. We had to drive slow, did not want to broke your mirror-"

"Its okay, at least, you have brought it in one piece."

"Hope so." the man replied, and snickered.

Luke pinned his eyes on the man, which clearly meant I don't want even a single scratch on it.

The man laughed "Don't worry sir, everything is fine."

Luke jerked his head in the direction of Cindy "Tell your mama... they have brought the mirror."

"Okay." Cindy hopped cheerfully through the lawn. She was murmuring her favorite Mr Blommy song.

She passed through the front door and after reaching the center of the big hall, she rooted her small feet and yelled out loudly "mommy!..they have brought the ... mirror."

An hour later the truck left, racing forward, toward the main road.

And the old mirror stood in the corner of the hall. It was a giant yet elegant. Mirror surface, though old was still in good condition with little scratches. Its frame was made up of bronze with a coating of gold, which was eroded due hundred years of regulation. Wait, it was hundred years old, that's fantastic. Luke had brought it in an auction for 12,000 dollars, and he still remembered that day because of a crazy woman he had met after the auction had ended. She had stopped him when he was getting inside his car.

"Mister Luke Lawson...uh I really need your help, sir." she said.

"Sure," Luke said, shutting his car door. "How can I help you?"

The woman hesitated. She glanced at the driver. And finally spoke ."Uh... I want to buy your mirror." evening breeze ruffled her dark black hair. she pushed them away from her face.

Luke nodded. He had sensed the urgency in the woman's behavior. And he had also recognized her. She had also bid in the auction for the mirror. " how much you can pay_"

"-I can pay you 6,000-"

Luke Laughed. " That's not possible..."

"Listen" she croaked and surveyed the street to make sure that no one is eavesdropping on them. "The mirror was not made by a human... it was..." she again looked around. Gasped. And whispered, " A demon made it..."

The driver overheard her and snickered. she shot an angry glance at the driver throwing daggers at him. Almost ready to yell. "Die!", But she gazed back at Luke.

Luke managed to control his laughter. He twitched his lips and said. " Well then ... that makes it more expensive."

"You think it's a joke?" she still looked very serious and offended.

"Sorry to interrupt you, sir but I think we should leave. We'll miss the flight, sir." the driver said.

"Oh yes!" Luke said glancing at his watch. "Sorry, I have to leave."

"It's okay."The woman held out her arm, Luke shook it. Then realized she was holding something in her hand. It was her card. She did not want to shake arm with him. She wanted him to take her card. Luke felt really stupid. " Call me... in case you change your mind." the women said.

Luke nodded and slipped the card in his breast pocket.

The driver drove the car towards the gloomy highway lit by hundreds of street lamp. Luke gave a final wave, but She did not wave back, she just kept staring at Luke's car. Luke felt something unusual in his stomach. He suddenly felt sick.

"Crazy woman" driver hissed, glancing at the rear view mirror.

Luke nodded. "Yes," call me in case you change your mind. She seemed so confident as if she was sure that one day, he would call her. This thought made him feel more sick. He shook his head and glanced at the card, which she had given to him. It was dark blue colored, standard size card with her name printed on it.' Meghana Thakur, there were more words below it printed in smaller font ' Astrophysicist'.

Astrophysicist? He thought.
