Avni was busy finishing up a work at the back terrace of the house, when Neil came home. It was 11 in the night and he was sure all the others were asleep by then. She was so indulged in her work, that she didn't even notice Neil taking the chair beside her. Neil peeked a bit on the screen, Avni was finishing up the last tax documents of the company. She was realised of his presence, when Neil's hair brushed on her arm. "Neil! Just winding up the last bit. We'll be done with the financial statements tomorrow. You should call up for a meeting soon!" Avni directed him along the documents prepared, but she noticed him not paying any attention. "Whats up? Why are you so bummed? Is everything alright at work?" Her worries reached to the peak when Neil did not respond. His face was all red, a mild trembled played on his lips as he tried to purse them together, Avni could clearly see how much trouble he was going through to hold back his tears. Her heart raced, Avni quickly put the papers aside and moved close to Neil. "Neil.. hey... whats wrong? tell me.. you're worrying me!"
She held his face in her hands and tried consoling. But tears rolled down his cheeks, still not giving any responses. Avni's eyes were now welling up. She could tell he was in a deep pain, Avni moved more close and hugged Neil tightly. She buried his face in her chest, Neil sobbed on without any hesitations. Avni felt her hands getting numb, not being able to interpret the sorrow in him. "Neil.." Avni tried to move him out of the embrace and made him look towards her.
"Whats wrong? Tell me.." She ran her fingers lightly on his cheek, brushing off the tears. "I've come to know about the Bar council 's decision.." Neil mumbled. Avni's eyes widened with shock, this wasnt something she wanted him to know. "Why didnt you tell me." Neil held Avni's hand. "I tried.. you didnt listen to me.." Avni tried her best to keep her voice in pace. "Yeah.. how typical of me eh.. I never listen to you." Neil said. Avni dropped her gaze from him, she wasnt comfortable now. They were both too guilty to put out everything in front of each other. They were nervous, and didnt had the guts to talk any further. Neil was too guilty, Avni was unable to forget everything and move on. Hence, there created an unknown barrier and silence between the two with each passing day. Anyone observing from afar, will not be able to say that theirs was a love marriage and they had been intimate with each other. Cuz now it rather reflects as an arranged marriage, where the couple has feelings for each other, but are being afar.

"WHERE IS LAWYER AVNI, WHO WE ALL NEED FOR REFORM OF THIS BILL AGAINST GENDER EQUALITY?!"
Neil read the headline and sank into his seat. He was in his office on a fine Sunday afternoon. Its been a month after that night. Avni is still working in their company, taking care of all the accounts. The whole picture is clear to Neil now. Avni is a lawyer, but she's forced to work in another field. She wakes up everyday to attend to office, but Neil doesnt see the spark of excitement she used to have.
He let out a sigh. Avni was a personal who worked in the field for a shirt period so far, but created such an image and fought valiantly in cases that she had become a publicly known figure. So the headlines were supposed to come, on her sudden disappearance.  He went thought the comments under the article. Some had said she's on a break, while the others accused her of fleeing away when an importantBill has come in hands. Such criticisms hurted Neil. He so prayed Avni doesnt see it.

The following days were jobless for Avni. The annual financial statements were done, she pretty much does not have any work. Neil sees her roaming around both in office and home, not having anything to do. She'd sit with Babe for sometime, be in the garden all alone. Avni used to be one busy women, but..
That evening when Neil returned home, Avni was on a call. She ended it as he came out of the shower. Neil could see that she was about to say something. He hung up the towel and gave her all his attention. "Neil, I was wondering.. can I.. um, go to London.. for a week?" Neil's heart dropped. He doesnt want her out of his sight for even split seconds. But he didnt know how to refuse. "Of course! Why would I refuse.." he gave a little smile. Avni noticed the look on his face, even when he turned around to hide em from her. "I'll get your tickets booked, yeah?" He asked. Avni just gave a nod.

Neil was wide awake at 2a.m. Avni was right beside him, in a deep sleep. Neil tossed and turned towards her. The content visible on her face, the glow of her skin, increased his heartbeat. Avni moved close to him in sleep and buried her face on the crook of his neck. Neil wrapped his arms around her, bringing her more closer. She will leave in morning, and he's going to miss her so badly. Neil lowered his face and nuzzled on the back of her neck. The smell of her skin was a seductive for him. Neil explored her skin more, pressing his lips all over. Avni stired in her sleep and opened her eyes. "Neil.." "please, let me.. please." Avni moaned as Neil kissed on her ear lobe and trailed down to her jawline. She wrapped her hands around Neil's neck, as he shifted to move above her. Neil captures her lips and kissed her deeply, trying to convey her how much he needed her right now. Avni kissed him back, trying to explore each inch of his mouth. Slowly, with swift moves, all their clothes were discarded. Avni whimpered as the temperature of the room directly hit her skin. Neil quickly buried her body under his and entered her slowly. He moved, spearing her in one stroke. He captured her lips with his, and drove himself through her silken heat, until she was wrapped completely around him. Neil made love to Avni languorously, reveling in the sensations, watching watching her pleasure paint her skin in flushed tones. His heart raced, and his mind was going cray. She was the most beautiful creation he have discovered. Their swift synchronized movements finally reached to peak. Neil pulled the comforter up and covered their bodies, bringing Avni atop his heaving chest. His hands tirelessly stroked every inch of her body. She only belong to him, the most beautiful woman on earth, but the thought of not having her around for a while is suffocating him. Avni lifted up her head, as if she had heard his thoughts. "I'll be back soon.." she mumbled and kissed him passionately. Neil got up slowly, with Avni in his hands. He took her in his arms with one swift movement. "Woah!" Avni let out a gasp. Neil chuckled, as he carried her to the bathroom. His voice was husky, filled with lust and passion in his eyes. Avni knew he wasnt quiet done with her yet, she ran her hands down his back, all willing to be a volunteer of his explorations ♥️
