"Okay, what's wrong?" A raven haired to-be college student asked, sitting on one of the chairs, looking at the white haired male who was sitting on the side of his bed.

"Huh? What do you mean?" The white haired male asked. "Nothing's wrong-"

"Your tone changed. Therefore, something is, and Audrey told me she mentioned something about your mask. Sorry about that by the way. Those kids are a handful." The blue eyed girl mumbled the last part to herself.

Huh? That damn brat! And- wait- I thought she couldn't tell lies when she was sick? The male thought shocked.

It was the end of June, Mae finally got over her cold, and gathered the strength to finally talk to Lloyd about this. She knew something was up, and wanted to know what it was.

The girl sighed, "You know, I'm not one to pry, but I just wanted to be a good friend and help out with whatever was wrong. I noticed you were panicking a bit, so I thought maybe it had to do with something my sister said?"

Huh? Did Mae not know exactly what that brat said? If not, that's good, but it's not even about that. Lloyd was thinking to himself about what she was saying. "No. It's not anything like that, it's rather..." he tried to phrase it the best way he could, "some stuff I want to keep... personal. Don't think I haven't appreciated everything you've done for me. It's just-" the white haired male got cut off.

"Huh? 'I've done for you'...? I feel like it should be the other way around." Mae said with a small laugh. "You've done a lot more for me, than I have done for you...!"

"No, I don't think so... you've done more than you know." The green eyed male said.

"That's vaguely threatening, and you're a criminal which makes it even more uncomfortable." Mae replied with a creeped out expression.

"Not like that." I don't even want to explain what I mean now, which makes me seem more like a creep. Lloyd thought, scratching the back of his neck.

"Pfft..." The dark haired girl had let out a small laugh.

"OH do NOT tell me you were kidding!" The whisper white haired male yelled, irritated, standing up.

"-Okay...! Wait before you bonk me again!-" Mae pulled a couple of fliers out of her purse and placed them on the table, and the male walked over to her.

"'End of School Year, and End of June Celebration!...' What is this?" He read aloud before looking back at her.

The girl's expression was flushed red and nervous, she was looking anywhere that wasn't at him. "Uhh... well... i-isn't this the type of thing where you walk around, play games, and win prizes?" She asked, tapping her pointer fingers together.

"Yeah? Why?" The white haired male raised an eyebrow.

"Just curious..." The blue eyed girl was still glancing away.

"Let me guess, you were either 'too busy,' or the amount of people scared you, so you wanted to stay home and read." Lloyd assumed. "So now that I'm here you want me to be a 'shield.'" He folded his arms.

"Please...?" Mae asked, then glanced up at him with an innocent expression.

"If you think a simple 'please' is gonna work on me-" The male was cut off.

"Please?" Mae asked again, the same expression.

~

"How and why did I agree to do this?" Lloyd ran a hand through his hair as he looked at himself up and down in his bathroom mirror.

It was a few days later- well specifically the day that Mae had asked for him to hang out at the small festival.

Lloyd had put on whatever he had found around his apartment, but what he also thought was okay enough. It was a black t-shirt and some 'nice' pants he found. "This feels okay enough."

Now, what did she say after she pretty much begged me to go again... just meet at the front of there, right? God damn, she realizes I'm a criminal and there'll probably be cops there, right? The light green eyed young male thought with a sigh.

"Oh wait... by the way she was talking about it. Was she... trying to ask me out on a date?" He mumbled to himself, before grabbing the sides of his sink and staring at himself in the mirror. "No. She's almost nineteen, and besides that, I'm a murderer. There's no way in hell she'd like me like that."

~

"Oh no...! With the way I was talking to him and asked him to meet up, it makes it seem like a date...! Ah...!" Right now, Maebelle Evans was stressing out over the fact that she almost and probably did ask her only friend out on a date.

I'm an idiot! I didn't mean it like that! I feel so bad- "No! You're not fifteen! You're eighteen! You're an adult! A dumb one, but an adult! You're going to face this like the woman you are!" The young woman put her fist in the air. "I got this!" Her face turned bright red. I'm so lucky no one can hear me outside of my room. I just gave myself an embarrassing pep-talk...

The raven haired girl got dressed, putting on whatever she could find. Which was mainly leggings and a t-shirt. Okay, I've covered my legs, and I won't get too hot outside! Perfect! Maebelle smiled, grabbing her purse that was on her desk and opening her bedroom door.

However...

"Huh, Father?" She was surprised to see the adult male with raven hair and three younger kids behind him.

"Hey, Maebelle, I'm sorry, but can you watch these three tonight? I just got called into work, and your mother's already working late." Travis explained.

"But I was planning to go hang out with my friend tonight. You know, at the Festival the students usually throw." Maebelle responded.

"Oh! That's a good idea! Why not take them there with you?" The Father suggests.

"Huh?" The oldest daughter's dark blue eyes had a blank stare.

"Why not take them with you? Or you can stay here. Your choice." He gave her an innocent smile, but his gray eyes showed a 'do-what-I-say-and-no-one-gets-hurt' kind of look.

"Okay. I'll take them with me. Just give me a minute, I think I forgot something in my room." The father nodded and Maebelle went back into her room, closing her door and slamming her back against it. Oh my god. This can't be real- WAIT actually this might be good! Since this wasn't actually a date, I CAN bring my sister and brothers with me haha! Woohoo! She put her fist in the air. "I need to stop with this..." she whispered, putting her arm down and opening the door.

"Alright, father, you have a deal- where's dad?" The elder daughter asked, noticing her father was no longer at the door.

"He went to work, and it wasn't a 'deal or no deal' idiot. You had to do it." Audrey said. "Also if you were going on a date with that Lloyd guy you don't look ready in the slightest."

"I-It's not a date! And it definitely wouldn't be a date, if I'm bringing you three along!" Maebelle replied, her face turning red.

The three younger siblings raised an eyebrow in unison before Audrey spoke up. "Okay. Well, let's just have you and I go inside your room for a sec~! You two eight year olds stay here~!" She said, referring to the twins.

Audrey pulled her sister inside her room, closing the door and locking it.

"Leggings, and a t-shirt, really?" The younger sister asked.

"What do you mean, really...?" The elder sister asked. "They're comfy, not much will be shown, and I won't be too hot."

"You're an idiot. If you're trying to be attractive for him then you're doing the exact opposite." Audrey said with a blank stare.

Maebelle had a crimson red face. "I'm not trying to do that...!"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say." The younger sister said. "Now, chop, chop, let's get you changed!"

She watches too much tv for her own good... Maebelle thought, with a worried expression on her face.

~

I feel like I'm showing too much and... "my legs are cold." Mae mumbled sorrowfully.

Right now, the eighteen year old was walking up to the festival with her younger sister and brothers. Yet, she had on jean shorts and a black tank top. Her raven and blue-dyed-at-the-tip dyed hair was also tied back into a high ponytail.

"Just be glad I let you wear shorts, and not a skirt." Audrey whispered.

Since when did she become the boss of me...? The elder sister thought a bit annoyed.

"Oh! There's the Mister!" Kyle said, pointing ahead to the white haired male. He seemed to be looking at his phone, as well as leaning against a tree. However, there didn't seem to be any cops around. That was definitely one hundred percent a good thing.

"Lloyd!" Mae called out, which caused Lloyd to pick his head up.

"Oh hey-!" Lloyd cut himself off. "Since when did you dress up like that?"

"Ask her." Mae said, pointing to her younger girl standing beside her.

"...Hm? So I guess you're watching them?" The older male asked.

"Yeah. My father got called in late so he asked me- well, more like forced me- to take care of them so now we're here." The older girl said with an awkward laugh.

"And you look like that because-?" The older male got cut off by the youngest girl.

"I assumed you two were going on a date, and she was going out in a t-shirt and leggings! Absolutely gross!" Audrey yelled. "But, right now you're the one who is underprepared." She said, folding her arms and turning to Lloyd.

"Underprepared?" The whisper white haired male asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah! Really? Just a t-shirt and pants, you could do better." The youngest girl said.

"Audrey, knock it off...!" Mae said, covering the younger girl's mouth. "I'm so sorry."

"No, it's fine." Lloyd mumbled.

"Are you okay? You're being a little less responsive than usual. Do you need to go home? Are you sick?" The older girl asked.

"I'm fine, I told you I don't get sick-!" The white haired male said, glancing to the side. "Umpf-!" The green eyed male felt Mae's hand on his forehead, and looked back at her.

"You don't feel like you have a fever." The oldest raven haired female said. That stupid brat! The male thought.

"Hey! Big sis! There's a game over there that you could win! C'mon!" One of the brother's (Carter) yelled, pulling Mae's arm and hand off Lloyd's forehead and both of them running with her.

Lloyd sighed in relief. "Thank god." He whispered.

"Gross." Audrey said, looking up at him, giving him a blank stare.

The green eyed male immediately got chills, quickly turning to face the eleven year old. Yeesh! How does this kid keep sneaking up on me like that?! And I'm a killer for god damn sakes! He let out another sigh. "What's gross?" The male asked.

"You were trying not to stare at Maebelle's chest, right? I watch tv, I know things." Audrey answered, she shrugged folding her arms.

The young male's face quickly turned red. "That's not true-!" He yelled, pointing at her, but she cut him off.

"Relax, I'm not a snitch. Besides, it was not only gross, but kind of funny." The younger dark haired girl said, she then smirked a bit.

"Just get going." Lloyd said, pushing her, startling the younger girl. This just resulted in her stepping on his foot. "Ow! What the fuck...?!" He yelled.

"Then don't push me." Her blue eyes glaring, before walking ahead. First I get headbutted, then I get stepped on. Damn. He thought before following her.

They caught up with Mae, Carter, and Kyle, and noticed Mae was doing one of the games.

"So what's going on here-?" Lloyd got cut off

"Shh!" The brothers shushed him in unison.

Okay... that was rude... but seriously what is going on? Mae is playing a game, so? The white haired male then looked back at the brothers. They were holding prizes. Oh! Mae needs to be incredibly focused, I guess. What game is she even playing? It was one where you shoot darts at moving boards with a fake gun, and she's won every time from the looks of it... It seems when focused...

She has perfect aim with a gun.

"What if I want to become a criminal with you?" The male's heart was beating fast, and his green eyes were wide.

"Hey!" Lloyd subconsciously yelled.

"Eep!" The last dart missed when Mae shot it. "Oh no... and I was doing so good too..." she mumbled sorrowfully.

"Why'd you do that?! She was doing so well!" Carter whined.

"Yeah~! She won every time!" Kyle whined.

"I was just thinking... we should... look around some more! Yeah!" That was the first thing that came to mind! Damn it! And Mae's expression is... as far as I can read it, it's... worry. The green eyed male thought. He knew what the young woman was thinking... and right now he just didn't want her to panic about anything.

His eyes flickered. Did I do something wrong there...? The blue eyed girl thought to herself anxiously, biting the inside of her lip.

"Alright! Then, let's go!" Audrey said, walking ahead of everyone, the twins walking behind her.

Lloyd was about to walk ahead, but he knew Mae wasn't smiling. "Hey, knowing you, you caught my lie, but you're an idiot to think you're the problem."

"Huh?" The raven haired said, surprised, her blue eyes widened.

"I'm just overthinking, and I'll tell you about it later, now come on, before the brats go missing, and your dad goes batshit crazy." The male had a calm look in his light green eyes, and she gave him genuine laughter.

"Yeah, okay..." the older girl nodded.

Lloyd grabbed her hand and walked up to her siblings who had gone to look around at other booths.

~

How did I get here again...? Mae thought. Here. In an alley with two thugs that are threatening me, because they saw me with Lloyd Walker?

To sum up what had happened:

Mae Evans' little brothers, Carter Evans, and Kyle Evans, had seen a booth that had sweets and they wanted some. So being the kind sister that she was (and the only one that had money on her) had gone to go and buy them some sweets.

There ended up being a big crowd at the booths around, and Mae got caught up in it, she got dizzy (due to there being a bunch of people, and her not being a people person) when she calmed down at some point in that crowd the thugs that were here now asked, "Do you know Lloyd Walker?" in which her thought was, this can't be good.

If there ended up being an easy way out in that crowd. She was going to take it. Which there was. She threw her purse, and crawled under people's legs to get through, and she thought she could lose them in this alley, however it was blocked and...

Here we are now.

Ah. That's right... I'm screwed. She thought.

"Listen, girl, we got through a mess trying to get to you, no use tryin' to crawl."

Have I seen them on 'WANTED' posters before? Mae thought. "Why do you want to know if I know Lloyd Walker?"

"It's simple, we've been trying to kill this man for ages." The first man said.

"And if you're a little friend of his, we can simply, piss him off and kill you, and get him to us." The second one said.

They're really just admitting their whole plan to me, huh? The raven haired female thought, a bit annoyed.

"As if I'm going to let you...!" The young woman threatened. Okay. That was a complete empty threat, what the hell am I going to do now?

"let's work on kicks and punches!" Oh! That's right! We haven't entirely worked on it... but maybe just to threaten...? Mae thought.

"You bastards-!" Mae was about to punch the first, however...

There was a gunshot.

Into the gut of the second man.

Then another into his chest.

The second thug was dead.

The first guy was shot in the same two places.

He was dead too.

"Huh...?" Was the only noise Mae made. She looked at the end of the alley at who was the person who shot the gun.

A woman was there, she smirked and put a pointer finger to her lips. "Shh~" was the only noise she made before running off. The woman who was there had shoulder length blonde hair, teal eyes, perfect light beige skin, dressed in all black, She's absolutely beautiful... but she just...! Mae's eyes widened before she shook her head.

I need to go back to Lloyd and the rest. She thought before carefully running out of the alley, with thoughts of only what she just saw running through her mind.
