How... HOW did I end up in this predicament again? The predicament of me being in my apartment, with an eighteen year old girl passed out on my bed. And the fact that this girl is Maebelle Evans makes me feel so much worse... Lloyd thought.

The young whisper white haired male tried to think back on everything that had happened.

Let's see... let me just think... he brought his hand to his chin.

~

I had crossed districts and was walking near some unpopulated shops in the Rich District until I heard a familiar voice. The green eyed male thought.

"P-Please stop...!" A female voice yelled.

That's...? Lloyd was looking around to wherever her voice was coming from, and was finding where she was, since she did not sound happy.

"C'mon! Why won't you come with me?!" The man had said.

"Please! Let go of me...!" She yelled (probably loudest she's ever shouted). "I-I don't want to go with you...!"

"Well, too bad!" The male said.

When Lloyd was there to 'knock out' the older male Mae was also passed out.

So the white haired male picked her up, and wanted to carry her to her house, yet here's the issue.

The green eyed male didn't know where she lived.

and...

The whisper white haired male didn't want to look like a kidnapper.

So...

Now they're here.

I want her side of the story when she gets up. Lloyd thought.

He looked back at Mae before running a hand through his hair and sighing. Looking at her like this... she really does look like a doll. That pale skin and how her hair just goes down perfectly, and how her body lines up perfectly too- The male froze. I really need to stop thinking. What if she was a high school student, oh god and even mentioning two words like 'her body' would make me more than an automatic pervert.

Lloyd shook his head, trying to neglect everything that he was just thinking. Hold on, I feel like I'm forgetting something. What's today's date? He took his phone out of his sweatpants pocket and checked the date. October second, huh?

His eyes blinked once, then twice before running a hand through his hair again, remembering something. Ah shit, I forgot. Her birthday's tomorrow... isn't it.

Lloyd ran his hand over his face. I need a shower, that'll clear my head... he thought, walking into the bathroom, closing and locking the door and turning on the shower.

After about fifteen minutes Mae had made a noise. "Hmm...?" She slowly opened her eyes and sat up. "Where... am I...?" She mumbled, looking around.

This was NOT her house. Okay. Okay. Think Maebelle. Think. What was the last thing that happened to you...-? OH GOSH THAT'S RIGHT THAT MAN PUT A CHLOROFORM RAG ON MY NOSE! She looked down. ...Hold on? Then why the hell are my clothes still on? Does that mean... someone might have helped me...? Oh, thank god...! The raven haired girl thought, tearing up a little from the thought of happiness.

But wait... who? And why? The blue eyed female thought again. After all, I'm completely... worthless...

She sat quietly, still thinking to herself, however she was cut off from thought when she heard some sort of noise. Is... is that running water that was just turned off...?

"God I can't believe I forgot a towel, holy shit it's cold- I-" Lloyd opened the door and stood silent, his upper half was bare to the raven haired girl. "Y-Yo, Mae." He says, his face slowly going red.

"...H-Hello...!" The female answered nervously, her face slowly getting scarlet colored by the second. S-So that answers the who.

I-I don't know what's worse, if I ever accidentally show the rest of my face to her, or if THIS is worse. The male thought.

"Please tell me you're not one of those girls who go 'pervert!' and throw a pillow at the guy." The green eyed male says.

"I'm not... but can you please put a shirt on...?" She asked, nervously.

"Yeah, I'll do that." He says, putting on the thing he had before, which was a gray t-shirt and sitting on the side of the bed.

"T-Thank you..." She whispered. 'I-I feel so stupid...! N-No that's not important right now!' "So... why did you bring me here...?"

"Because I didn't know where you lived." He replied. "And, oh yeah, I wanted to know, what happened in that shopping center, with you and that man?"

The girl put her finger to her chin. "Well... there was this drunk... or possibly drugged man-" the blue eyed female paused "-maybe both, I-I tried to avoid him, but he grabbed my arm... I asked for him to let go multiple times, but each time he was persistent in taking me home with him. Then he knocked me out with chloroform... Now I'm here..." Mae explained.

"I see..." People like that are... disgusting... I'm glad I stabbed him when I did. The white haired male thought with a sigh.

"S-So thank you." She said with a smile.

"Hm? For what?" The male said, raising an eyebrow.

"I guess you kinda 'saved me.'" The blue eyed female explained with a small laugh.

"It was really no problem... I'm just glad nothing happened." He said with a sigh of relief.

"Yeah... me too..." Mae also let out a sigh of relief.

"So, aside from anything scary happening to you. Your birthday is tomorrow isn't it?" He asked, this caused the girl's face to go red for the millionth and one time, she completely forgot about what day it was.

"Y-Yeah...! I thought you didn't care about birthdays...!" She said, pouting a little.

"I never said I cared for your birthday, I was just asking if it was tomorrow." He said, there was a playful look in his eyes.

"T-That's so mean...!" The dark haired girl whispered another one of her yells, which caused him to laugh.

"You're really funny, you know that." The white haired male replied.

"You mean, you like when I'm angry...?!" Mae asked.

"I guess so~" He responded with another laugh.

"Ugh...! I can't ever win with you...!" She said.

Oh how fun it is to play with her~ Lloyd thought. But seriously... How could anyone be so distasteful? Like that man or those girls harm a girl like this? Not like I'd beat her on the ground like her schoolmates... I wouldn't even think of such things.

"Hm? Lloyd?" Mae was waving her hand in his face, grabbing his attention. "You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." The light green eyed male said.

"Your eyes flickered. What's wrong?" The raven haired girl asked, her blue eyes showed worry, wondering what he was thinking about. However, he knew she wouldn't ask any deeper unless the white haired male wanted her too, because she wasn't one to pry.

The male chuckled. "You really should care for yourself first, and others second, you know that, right Mae?"

"But-" Lloyd cut the girl off.

"Why do you always have some kind of rebuttal?" The green eyed male asked, annoyed.

"And how come you never let me speak my rebuttals?" She asked, annoyed.

"Because you usually make me feel dumb." He says with a small laugh.

"Oh, that's not true...!" She says pouting. "And I don't need to see eye flickering for that... you're smart and you know that."

He was surprised at her response, "...what else am I?"

"Huh?" The girl asked.

"'I asked 'what else am I?'." He repeated.

"Well, as well as smart, I've mentioned this before you're intuitive, and kind-" The blue eyed girl got cut off.

"Pfft!" The green eyed male let out a laugh. "Me? Kind? That's funny."

"But you are." Mae says. Her expression was serious.

"How?" Lloyd asked, lifting an eyebrow.

"You saved me from that man and from those girls... oh yeah! Speaking of which! Those girls, they stopped bothering me the day after you showed up...! I guess they were bored with me...! Which makes sense, I'm boring...!" The raven haired girl said with a smile.

Heh... you wouldn't understand the half of it... but oh well... just continue to be your dense, usual self. Lloyd thought.

"But that's what makes you kind...! You're nice to me...!" She explained. "Even if you don't want to seem like it."

"God you're so obnoxiously focused on the small things." He said, pinching the girl's cheek.

"Ow~!" She whined. "That hurts!"

"Wow, your face is surprisingly very easy to pull." The male said with wide light green eyes, and the girl pulled his arm off of her.

"Please never say or do that to me again." The blue eyed girl said with a sigh.

"Can't promise." He said, standing up and stretching, "C'mon I'm going to take you home."

"T-Take me home?" She mumbled, lifting an eyebrow. "What do you mean...? You said you don't know where I live..."

"Yeah, I don't, dumbass, but I'm at least going to guide you out of the Poor District." The whisper white haired male explained.

"Eh? Poor District?" Mae asked.

The male gave the girl a blank stare. "Did you seriously not get the hint? Due to the way I dress and how my apartment looks, how couldn't you?" The light green eyed male asked.

"Well when I first met you, I just thought it was how people were dressing nowadays. And before I realized this was your place I was just trying to figure out how I got here. Then when I realized this was your place, I was just focused on you. Eh...! Wait-! Let me rephrase that, but first let me breathe..." the girl says, taking a few heavy breaths.

"'I was just focused on you.'" Wow, that really hit like a truck. That was... the first time I've ever heard that... the male was wide eyed.

"Hm? What? D-Did I say something weird again?" She asked, her pale face slowly turning crimson.

"Nope... Here, let me help you up." He says, holding out his hand for her to grab, and she did and he pulled her up. Once they exited the apartment Lloyd made sure to lock his door.

"So... why didn't you just tell me that you are a part of the Poor District...?" Mae asked as they were walking.

"Y'know the first thing people don't usually say to each other is 'hey! I'm poor!'" He exaggerated.

"You know that's not what I mean..." Mae mumbled.

"How can you be so..." The male paused, not realizing his thoughts became vocal.

"How can I be so what?" The dark haired female asked, looking up at him.

Lloyd sighed, she can catch lies, so no use getting out of this one. "You're either so dense and oblivious or really focused."

"Hm... don't know..." the girl responded with a shrug.

Wait what? "That's the only response I'm getting is a 'hm... don't know...'?" He asked.

"Yeah...?" She said, raising an eyebrow, kind of confused.

How did she not hit me right away? I just called her stupid! Now the male was the one that was bewildered.

"Do you want a different response...?" Mae asked.

"It depends on if I'm going to get hurt." Lloyd answered.

"Oh! So you were expecting me to hit you after you practically called me an imbecile... or something like that. It's okay, I've been called worse." The blue eyed girl explained.

Worse? The green eyed male thought, a bit more confused, but thinking of a different situation.

"However, it's not like I could hurt you either way..." She said, somewhat disappointed.

"Hm? Really? Try it, hit me I wanna see." He says, stopping on the walkway.

"Huh? O-Okay..." She says, stopping in front of him, facing towards him.

The raven haired girl got her fist out. "Hiee-yah!" She punched him on the chest and then they both ended up staring at each other blankly.

"What was that?" Lloyd questioned.

"...My hardest punch..." Mae replied.

"Please tell me you're kidding, because that felt like wind." The whisper white haired male described.

"H-Huh?! Y-You didn't have to tell me what it felt like...!" She whined, tears threatening to show up in her eyes.

"Don't cry over an exaggeration, god. You really are one of the most sensitive people I have ever met." He said, rolling his eyes. "But seriously, you need to gain some muscle. Er- wait what about when you pushed me into those bushes what happened then?!" The male asked, kind of annoyed.

"That was my 'once-in-a-while-adrenaline'... And it's not my fault... My parents wanted a delicate child. Audrey doesn't act delicate at home, and Carter and Kyle are never delicate- and I guess crying over my issues doesn't make me look delicate at all... sorry..." the girl said, wiping the tears from her eyes with both of her hands.

Well I guess I can understand why they named her Maebelle... when she's with me she'll talk, but when she was asleep and quietly sitting down she looked like some beautiful doll. An easy-to-break if you touch it one... but I wonder... at home is she even allowed to talk, or is she supposed to be kept quiet, like an actual doll?' The green eyed male thought.

"It's alright." The male said, putting a hand on the crown of her head.

After a few moments they continued to walk and he continued talking. "Hey... do you have a good memory?" Lloyd asked.

"Hm yeah, why?" Mae answered.

"Because if you're not doing anything fun for your birthday tomorrow why not just come over to my place to hang out, you remember the trail right?" The white haired male shrugged.

"Eh...?" The female froze and her blue eyes widened.
