Before the events of the book, Ponyboy used to have precognitive dreams (dreams that predicted the future). The dreams mainly consisted of the death of his parents, Darry hitting him, the church fire, and Johnny and Dallas's deaths. Everyone thought that Pony's dreams just meant nothing...or were they?
