When Johnny was at the Curtis's, he had a sudden urge to dance, so he secretly brought his radio into the bathroom with him and began to dance. Ponyboy walked in on him in the bathroom because he heard music coming from it. When Pony opened the door, he saw Johnny singing and dancing to an Elvis song.
