Before leaving the rooftop, Izuku noticed a glass shard on the floor. It had some green, mushy liquid stuck on it. It reminded him of the villain before, but he ignored it, wanting to return home as fast as he could.

While walking back, he saw Bakugo running down the streets. At the sight of him, Izuku tried to avoid him, but he noticed that Bakugo looked unfocused. Izuku was confused by his behaviour, but shrugged it off.

Izuku picked up speed and ran home, only to find policemen surrounding the building. He tried to see what had occurred and noticed that his house had been broken into. He noticed traces of green, mushy liquid on the broken window and knew whatever happened here had something to do with him.

Ignoring the barrier, he ran inside, avoiding the shocked policemen trying to catch up to the boy. In the end, they were unable to catch up and could only watch the boy enter the crime scene. All was silent in the apartment save for a sound akin to dripping water coming from his mother's room. He gently opened the door... and saw his mother on the floor. She was bleeding profusely and her eyes were unfocused.

At that moment, Izuku had fallen to his knees in front of the body. He tried shaking her over and over, in an attempt to wake her up, ignoring the blood on his hands. When it became clear it was ineffective, he slowly started speaking,

"Okaa-san? Okaa-san!? OKAA-SAN!"

A despair filled voice was heard by the policemen nearby and All Might. The voice gradually increased in volume, until it sounded similar to a beast's roar. Then, the voice went silent. Before a loud roar filled with despair broke the silence.

Everyone in the vicinity began seeing memories that did not belong to them. The protagonist of these memories slowly changed, until they became the protagonist. They all fell into a panic when they realised that their quirks no longer responded to them. They felt so vulnerable, just like what Izuku felt everyday.

Compared to the bystanders, the slimy villain who was the culprit, took the brunt of this mysterious phenomenon. It felt a strong tug on its consciousness, and before it knew it, its vision separated from its body,

"What the hell is happening!?"

It turned back to look, only to see his body. Beside it was an ominous blue ball, slowly devouring it right in front of its vision. Yet, it could do nothing to stop it.

"Agh! Stop! Stop it! NoNoNoNoNo... no......"

Even while its body was being devoured, its vision was slowly dragged into an illusory prison by an invisible force. Though it tried to struggle, it could not escape. It could only resign itself to being dragged inside, where a terrible fate awaited it.

The roar continued until Izuku finally passed out, but the memories continued replaying in his mind. It played so many times until he felt numb to them. During this process, his will to be a hero, which was previously crushed by his idol, had sparked again.
-----------
When he awoke, he found himself in a hospital room, where an old lady was checking on his condition.

Right now, his eyes looked indifferent and cold. Those memories he relieved, had made him realise that the only colour in his life had just been erased. He was now truly alone, with no one to care for him.

Even though his quirk had awakened, he felt nothing but regret. Why did he not awaken it sooner? Why did he not return earlier?

A strange 'feeling' was also felt by him like invading his head. When the 'feeling' reached an unbearable level, information suddenly appeared in his mind.

Quirk: Domain Of Despair
Uses: Forces all opponents to experience the despair of the user. Current effect: temporarily blocks others from using their quirk. The domain used is the Prison Of Endless Despair, which will grow stronger with more experience.

Side effects: Forces user to experience despair over again. Overuse may result in numbness of emotions. It may even lead to the loss of emotions for long periods of time.

Additional notes: If other forms of sadness are used, effects will differ.

Izuku looked through the information that appeared in his mind, while the old lady was just looking at the indifferent expression of Izuku. She heaved a sigh, before saying,

"Boy, I am Recovery Girl. Due to a side effect of your quirk, you have temporarily lost your emotions. But don't worry, they will return soon."

Izuku did not reply, choosing to ignore what she said. She did not take offence, as she knew he was unable to express himself.

That was until All Might came rushing in with his muscular form, shouting his go-to quote. He was very inspiring... at least until he spat out blood and returned back to his original form.

"Toshinori! Why are you so late!?"

All Might tried hard to explain, but could only mutter incoherent words that could not form a sentence. Recovery Girl shook her head, wondering how an idiot like him could be the Symbol Of Peace.

Izuku once again ignored them, choosing to look elsewhere. This made All Might very embarrassed and guilty as he recently just told this boy that he could not become a hero. He then remembered what he came to do, and got serious, saying,

"Young man, although you used your quirk illegally, as it was an accident, we will not hold you accountable. But before you leave, the principal of U.A would like to meet you."

Izuku looked behind All Might but could not find this Principal until he heard a cough below him.

What he found was a short, white rat looking at him. He still could not feel emotions so he just stared at this principal. Nezu, the principal. felt uncomfortable at first but did not show it.

As he had many things to do, he gave Izuku a chance to join U.A, which was his main purpose in coming here. He wanted to rope in this boy, as his quirk was useful and dangerous. He knew that villains would target him if they caught wind about him, and wanted to protect him. Even if the chance was small, the villains could manipulate him into joining them. With the nature of his quirk, it would be a calamity for the heroes.

With the death of his only parent, Nezu knew that the boy might hold a grudge against heroes for not being there to help his mother.

Izuku refused to answer, as he was in no mood to make decisions. His only family had just died, and he could not get over it that quickly.

Nezu was not surprised and decided to give him some more time to think. But before he left, he thought of something and quickly started whispering to All Might, which required All Might to bend down due to their difference in height.

After a while, All Might gave a nod, giving Nezu permission. Nezu then said,

"If you wish to grow stronger, go to this address. You will meet a man named Gran Torino, hand him this letter."

Nezu threw an envelope at Izuku before jumping on All Might's shoulder. Izuku took the letter and without looking at it, stuffed it into his pocket, before waiting to be discharged.
--------------
Once he arrived home, he ran straight to his room, completely ignoring everything else. He jumped on his bed and stayed there. He spent the next few hours crying, before falling asleep, only to be dragged into a nightmare.
