Sirens wailed outside Giana's villa in Milan. The family stood outside teary-eyed, as they watched Oma climb onto the back of the police jeep. The ex-Inspector Hash, sat beside her hand cuffed. Laura and Joseph had pulled up in a car, and Riccard walked out of the home with a blanket. He wrapped it around Giana who's cheeks were still tear stained from all the crying she had done the night before.

The poor girl had watched her trust crumble into pieces. The thought of forgiving Oma did creep into Giana's mind but she knew that she owed Laura justice. Joseph could have given up and left Giana struggling against her own fate, but he didn't. He stood by her even at the risk of his own life. He possessed the virtues of a true friend, one that Giana surely didn't want to let go.

Oma had no excuses for her actions except greed, jealousy and her ego. The tears of the entire family had put her through immense shame. She vowed to attempt to be a better person in her next life. As for this one, she confirmed that although she felt bad for letting her family down, she still wouldn't take her actions back. In her mind they were justified, even if they were only for her personal gains. The family had hugged her one by one, however unwillingly, for they knew this could be their final interaction. Giana had sobbed into Oma's shoulder, at the end of the day, she was the one who Giana loved and still continued to love the most. Human attachments after all, are tough to give up.

Giana's parents stood by her side like a rock. They did all that they could to make her feel better. Riccard and Giana's mom prepared lunch that day. The two now understood each other's perspectives a lot better.
