The room was filled with exclamations. Colby had raised his hands and laid them on his head while he was recalling the events of the evening before in a loud voice. Sam was talking to him, slowly realizing how everything fit together. Kris was sitting next to Ashley and looking up at both boys, nodding eagerly and giving her own opinion every once in a while.

Ashley was silent, she mostly listened to the others talk. A small smile tugged on her lips.

"She wants her girlfriend back," Sam sighed. "That's what's been going on! That's why Ashley's been feeling so good the entire time!"

"And maybe she was jealous about Kris and made her sleep badly because of that," Colby suggested. "She thought she had a rival."

"But you didn't sleep well either," Kris said. "And if she was jealous of you, too, why not Sam?"

"Well, if she's been with us – or interested in 'us' since Ashley played the piano, she must've seen Colby's worried reaction and thought it was more than friendship," Sam said. "Or, if she saw us before it and just didn't bother showing herself to us, she maybe saw the race and overinterpreted it."

"I don't want to know what would've happened if Ashley and I were forced to sleep in one double bed," Kris sighed.

"Should we, like, ask Ilse if that's true?" Ashley asked the first thing she'd said since her suggestion.

"Yeah, we probably should. Uhm, Ilse?" Sam called out. "Or wait, should you make it? She likes you more than any of us." He playfully nudged Ashley's shoulder and she scoffed.

"Whatever. Ilse, if you're here with us... Would you mind..." She hesitated and looked at the others. "What exactly do we want to do now?"

"It's almost six pm, the hotel serves dinner at six thirty. There's no real time for an investigation in between."

"Let's pack the stuff... and find something else to occupy ourselves with," Sam said. "Afterwards, we could go and look for the greenhouse, since it's not even dark outside yet."

"Sounds like a plan," Colby agreed.

Dinner was unspectacular. They left the ballroom to spend time in the lobby, playing cards with hushed voices. When the clock hit half past six, they went back to the ballroom where the tables had been set back up and got served. Sam and Ashley greeted the old man from the morning. The workers announced that another snowstorm was approaching them; a weaker one this time, but strong enough to delay their departure for another ten to twelve hours. While most of the guests groaned and scoffed at this, their group exchanged content glances and smirks.

They ate up quickly and left the room before anyone else did, to film a quick update for the viewers. Sam positioned the camera in the lobby to get all four of them in the frame while they settled down on the couches.

"We chilled in the lobby for half an hour and then ate dinner," he said, "and now we'll go and search for the greenhouse. Then it's time for the next part of our investigation." He held up his thumbs and leaned back on the couch.

"Do you guys have any idea what the greenhouse even looks like?" Kris asked. "Or where we should search for it?"

Sam shrugged. "We found the library too by just walking around," he pointed out. "Can't be too difficult. We're true explorers after all."

"Go buy-" Colby stared but Sam interrupted him.

"Already did that," he chuckled. "With Ashley while you guys were sleeping."

Colby dramatically gasped. "How dare you! She'll replace me one day!"

"Well, what can I say, I've definitely got more ghost activity than any of you," she retorted with a wink. Colby clutched his chest with one hand.

"My poor heart," he sighed. "Sam, tell me that's not true."

Sam hesitated, exchanging a look with Ashley. "Well..."

"Backstabber," Colby muttered. "Kris, let's make a duo channel. I don't need Sam anymore."

Now it was Sam's turn to gasp dramatically, and Ashley broke out in laughter. "And that's the end of Sam and Colby," she snickered.

"Okay, and now let's go find the greenhouse," Sam said and got up from the couch, pulling Colby up with him.

"Fortunately, that didn't last long," Ashley continued her last sentence. She chuckled as Colby playfully nudged her shoulder.

It didn't even take ten minutes for Justin to walk up to the group and ask them what they were doing.

"Just looking for an entrance to the greenhouse," Colby answered with a polite smile.

"Oh, I'm sorry, we had to close it. The snowstorm broke several panes, we had to tape them until the repair workers can come here," he explained. Ashley's shoulders slumped a little.

"Okay, no problem, we'll just go back to our rooms," Colby said. When Justin left, he turned to Sam and the camera.

"I guess we'll just have to do the investigation now or we'll die of boredom," he shrugged. Sam nodded.

"Then let's walk up those stairs again," he sighed. "Has anyone counted how often we've run through this hotel?" Sam laughed.

"Gotta get those steps in, baby!" Kris exclaimed.

"The workers probably hate us as well," Ashley sighed. "But especially the guests, those rich businessmen and women who think they're so much better than anyone else. When Sam and I went looking for the library and found it... you should've seen their faces."

Sam chuckled. "We randomly popped out of an emergency exit with a camera and talking loudly, what did you expect?"

Up in their room, they tried to decide what method they should use. All four of them agreed that whatever they would do, Ashley should be the one to execute it. Colby said they should build up the psychomanteum again since they still had the candles up here. Sam pleaded for a double Estes session with Ashley and either Colby or Kris. Kris disagreed with that and instead suggested doing a séance.

"Well, whatever we do, we better get the REM-pod out," Ashley stated, earning confused looks from the others. She shrugged. "Ilse likes to manipulate temperature, as we've seen. She warmed up our room, fogged up the mirror, and lit the candle. I think it's best if we have something to detect temperature changes."

"That's a really good point," Colby said. "So, what do you think? Double Estes, séance, or psychomanteum?"

"Oh god," Ashley chuckled. "I think I would have to say séance. Since we haven't done that yet."

Sam nodded. "Fine by me," he said. "When should we do it? When it's getting dark?"

"It's like getting dark already, the clouds are so low," Ashley sighed, waving at the window. "That's the minus part about having a hotel on a mountain. The clouds are literally in front of your window."

Sam took out the candles and the lighter while the other three pushed the couch out of the way. When he had set them in a circle and the others nervously sat around them, he walked to the camera again and crouched down before it.

"This is really weird for us too," he explained in a low tone. "As we've said before, we didn't plan this at all. This is a new concept for us, usually, we know what we're doing, and we try to get the best possible content for you guys... packed with tense moments, so it's interesting to watch. We plan, usually. This is different. We're just doing what feels right."

He stood up and walked to the small circle. The lights in the room were turned off and the curtains were drawn. The only light came from the candles' flicker as Sam lit one after the other.
